- How to tie the best looking and fishing streaking caddis/sedge, probably the most popular caddis pattern in Scandinavia! The original is tied with natural deer hair but this golden olive variant has worked well for me over the years fished alone or as a top dropper.

Rare combination of artistry and immaculate instruction, thank you Mr. Clarke.
Thank you!
Barry, you make that look easy, though I know it isn't. Well done.
I love this pattern!!
One of my favourite fishing flies!
Love it, I was able to do pretty well on this tie. Thank you for the great instructions
Wonderful! Its a great fishing fly Rocky!
This is a great video. The streaking caddis is one of the first patterns I tied (it's an amazing spruce moth imitation), but I've never been satisfied with them. My first two ties after watching your video are leaps and bounds better. The single big hair clump and the floating wrap are key.
Great tying Barry.
Superb Video Barry...learned a few wee bits!
Thanks Darryl, more to come.
Отличный ручейник! Благодарю!👍🤝🇰🇿
Thanks.
Very good tying, like always !
Mathias Briquemont Whitehall fly rod is best ?
Fantastic Barry...
Thanks David.
Well done!
Thanks Ken.
great help, thank you.
Thank you.
Excellent as always. Is the head stuck in place or can you move the hair from side to side?
Hi Runar, thanks. If it's tied correctly as here the head and wing should not move for side to side. May I suggest this if you wish to tie it correctly. www.amazon.com/Feather-Benders-Flytying-Techniques-Comprehensive/dp/1510751505/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2KTL8M5RTT8D1&keywords=barry+ord+clarke&qid=1676524637&sprefix=%2Caps%2C161&sr=8-1
@@Thefeatherbender Excellent! i will keep on practicing.
Super
Thanks.
hey Mr Clarke, I was wondering if I could tie this fly with elk hair? my deer hair is not long enough it seems. also what hook size were you using in the video? asking because I guess you'll have to adjust the amount of hair to the hook size. thanks for the great videos, really love your work!
Hi, and thanks! It is possible but elk doesn't have the same spinning qualities as winter coat deer hair. Not sure where you are based but all Veniard stockists have Roe deer winter hair and if you are in the US Natures Spirit have some great all purpose deer hair for this pattern. I tie this in all sizes from # 16 - 8. Hope this helps.
