I found these when I was 11-13, I'm now 21. These arre still some of my favorite unreleased tracks of all time, even if Bastilles discography today doesn't quite compare.
This song is two parts of a conversation: The first person is trying to bring up the past and talk through the problems and what happened (like how the guy got into drugs). And she’s echoing him “these are the things that define us”, how he responds to her concern and what she’s saying, his reaction will be what defines him and while she’s talking, he’s trying to keep it out by saying “I don’t wanna talk about it” over and over again. He gets his voice heard every so often “Won’t you let it dry?” Saying “why don’t you let this go? It was years ago. I don’t want to talk about this.”
Ready or Not samples Boadicea by Enya, as does this and around 40 others. In fact it wasn’t even the first sample e.g. Outro from the Mr Scarface album by Scarface.
Almost every band that I've heard, I've been disappointed about a lot of the songs but liked most of their songs. i have yet to hear a song by Bastille that i don't like.
This is a different version of the song, this was probably the original version with a different name that probably got changed when they made the album version of the song. I've seen the same thing happen before with a Florence and the Machine song originally titled "ghosts" but the album edition came out as "I'm not calling you a liar". Hope this clears up any confusion.
Tanti Greenly but seriously, i always thought it's just some mixed sounds, not words, bad blood will be like a totally new song from now on ;) what US performance you mention?
Tanti Greenly sorry i can't see the link anywhere (?), i watched this performance before and i was staring at boys and not focus on the lyrics i guess ;) but thanks for reminding this and have a nice day!
aye, but they added instruments to it, so i figured i'd suggest the fugees sample, rather than enya's original, as that's what this song is using. the original is 'boadicea', which is a really nice song still, so listen to both :)
What I love about Bastille is that I genuinely believe they love music. Not just their music, they love music.
Their apple playlist they personally curated as inspirations or favs is amazing!

9 years ago? Now bloody hell I remember it like it was yesterday...
Won't you let it lie? (I won't)
Hello from 2018! It’s been 4 years since this came out, and I’ll come back in another 4 years and hope we’ve got at least one more album.
Hunter Svenson "soon"
Sarah Skelly still “soon”
How about now?

Hello from 2020!
author, poet, musician, rapper and appears to be very humble. doesn't even hide behind make-up. how could you not like Kate Tempest
I could listen to these mixes all day long. So calming and often thoughtful pieces of art.
KATE TEMPEST!!! such an underrated artist!! so incredible to hear her on a bastille track.
This song absolutely slaps, pure underrated

2021 and here I am again :)
I always end up back here lol
The main song is "Ready Or Not", by The Fugees. The chorus is Bad Blood, from Bastille.

2024 and this album still gives me an eargasm
In the words of William Shakespeare "This fucking rocks"
wild world is out but i'm still here listening to this💖
Pushing this because I recently rediscovered the mixtape and am falling in love head over heels again.
Almost every band that I've heard, I've been disappointed about a lot of the songs but liked most of their songs. i have yet to hear a song by Bastille that i don't like.
Currently using this playlist as revision music, such a relaxing set of mix tapes. Love it!! ♥

Love this song Awesome!
Okay thanks x
I love it depressing but amazing
I thought the background was Enya's "Boadicea" but nope, I believe it's The Fougees "Ready Or Not"
Ready or Not uses Boadicea, so you're right on both counts
I don't wanna taco 'bout it
And this whisper: "I don't wanna talk about it" is from...?
It's probably from Bad Blood. :)
Tanti Greenly Equine Obsession wow, i've heard bad blood like hundreds of times and never caught that :O

@@AfaGrey is the intro of Bad Blood, is very very subtle
2023 and im back bc everyone is remembering the original samples that inspired the weeknds “creepin” and this song had the same sample
Facebook brought me here to hear her voice again
Me too! I heard her voice on the commercial and immediately recognized it!
nobody can dislike this song
my bad blood, forever; ever...
Every time man
Enya - Boadicea is the humming song in the background, but that is pretty much the whole song, only humming :3
I don't know, I heard that it wasn't available anymore because of copyright or something like that.
🖤🖤🖤
Bastille is amazing. I need this album. Where can I get it?
OOh there's a link where you can legally download the album - go to the itsallindie site and search.
sorry if that confused you. The Ashlyn Rock account is the gmail one I have on my phone. GladYouCame9 is my computer account.
You'll have to download the 'Other People's Heartache' mixtape.
Bastille is a band :D
thisissick I guess you’re right
chorus is bad blood also by bastille
What's this background music ?? The humming ?
+Hurricane Immortal it's a sample from 'Ready or Not' by The Fugees
no its not it was also taking from enya
no, the sample in this specific song is from ready or not. the original is enya, yes, but it's slightly different.
dint ready or not sample enya thou?
aye, but they added instruments to it, so i figured i'd suggest the fugees sample, rather than enya's original, as that's what this song is using. the original is 'boadicea', which is a really nice song still, so listen to both :)
♥
Fugees - Ready or not :-)
So much better than Bad Blood
Semi Sem I think you mean EVER HEARD.
BASTILLE IS THE BEST SINGER I EVER HERE!!!!!!!:D ♥♥
I thought it was Mario Winans - I don't wanna know
This is kinda just an add on-ish thing for Bad Blood. This is confusing me very much this is not ok
My god, this woman cant sing to save her life.
Well, she is NOT supposed to be able to sing. She's rapping, not singing.
I know, right?
