For the money, it is great! I have mine for 5 years now with out an issue!, just keep good fresh gas in it, change the oil every 3 months and a spark plug every year! No issues! Keep enjoying yours!

Seems like nice unit. Fairly fast for a hydro splitter too

Thank You for the comment, and this machine is quick for what it is. I chose hydro unit over the faster kinetic unity for a few reasons, one was safety for my son who also runs it, and the second was availability, and for $1500.00 from tsc it is well worth the investment!

Try to avoid starting this splitter at low throttle. Start with half throttle and choke. Pull till it starts.

How much the machine hydrulic oil

The cost of hydraulic oil is some where between $50.00- 70.00 for five gallons at a local tractor supply store, however if you run the machine frequently and maintain it you shouldn’t need to top off the fluid all that often, just filter it every season and replace it every 2-3 years! Engine oil and air filters get done 2-3 times a year, however I use my splitter every day, if not then every week! Maintenance is easy, and for what i do it has proven to be a very economical machine for the money!
Would I recommend this machine to someone, depending on their budget and use needs YES, it is very dependable, and has given me great service! With out any issues! However if someone is running a firewood business, I think a more automated system would be better, remember I am just a homeowner who heats with 2 indoor stoves, and doesn’t sell any firewood!
Have a great day, and a better tomorrow!
      Pat

    It doesn't have a Kawasaki engine , it's a Kohler engine

Yes your right it is a Kohler engine and is a solid unit, I also had the same unit with a Kawasaki engine retrofit done both are good engines. Sorry if I mistakenly referred to one over the other

I found you a fix for your log splitter. Please watch this. Log splitter stroke limiter, Save the Acorns1264.... (there channel) There is even a better video out fixing this problem, I will try to find this for you. Log splitter stroke limiter May 31, 2022 We split shorter logs and needed a way for the splitter to automatically stop on the return stroke. Now we can start the return stroke and grab the next log without worrying about it returning to the full 24” stroke and having to wait 10” of nothing for it to touch the log. There channel is Save the Acorns. I think you will like this. Save the Acorns@savetheacorns1264.
