Hi, If it has not been said already, I just have to say that I really appreciate the way you do your vids. You are so thorough and meticulous with your presentations and instruction, absolute clarity for the beginner and old sweats (army term). Nothing is missed by your eagle eyes. A style and example for others to follow. Much appreciated by a keen follower who "hoovers up" the info on every presentation you make. Thank you and keep it going.
This really helped my mum sort out her new vacuum. She had the same problem with the long thing falling away and she wasn’t sure what to do. We had a giggle when the same happened to you and it made her feel better that she hadn’t broke it. Thanks so much for the informative video.
I have been trying all morning to see if anyone was demonstrating the Small ball allergy vacuum cleaner. How clever that Dyson does not say Small Ball on there literature etc. well it seems that the demonstration I have managed to find very quickly passes all about how to take the roller out after being told by Dyson that the roller does not pull out. Had to phone Dyson and told yes the roller pulls out and no by Dyson it does not pull out. I wish you told the viewers a little more about the roller and the button on the right hand side how it works as I had trouble with it. Apart from that your demonstration was very good and thorough and slow so that we could grasp how everything worked.
Just bought this vacuum cleaner. Didn’t even bother yet reading the instructions to. assemble Your detailed video expertly showed meticulously step- by-step
I dont know your name but your videos are excellent and in-depth. I'm now the proud owner of this model Small Ball Allergy and the cordless V11 Dyson cordless animal with a copper stick colour. Didn't click the accessories holder down and so it came off! Assembled easily myself and delivered yesterday. You have a lovely home.
Bought the new Dyson Small Ball Allergy yesterday, thanks for this video. it was VERY helpful and so much easier than trying to teach myself from the instructions provided! Very pleased with this cleaner!
Thank you for this, I absolutely love your presentation. Everything is so well explained. Just bought is and will rewatch as I’m unboxing it. Thank you again, much appreciated!
Thank you so much for this video. This is my first Dyson and you have clearly shown what the diagrams didn’t explain. It took away any uncertainties i had 👍🏻
I had a DC40 for 3 years. I had issues with it such as all the hoses had holes in it. The hole where you take off the cleaner head, there was very weak suction from the blow hole. Dyson said that I can have an upgrade. So they sent me this vacuum the small ball allergy. I have asthma so this is wonderful for me. I love the new tools you get with it and it’s quiet too.
Ive just purchased one of these & rather than look a the pictures and work out the instructions, I sat down with a nice cup of tea & tea cake and watched your very informative vid ... cheers ibaisaic
If Dyson were to make a kettle, they would incorporate their energy saver technology from their cordless vacuum range, the kettle would require you to keep your finger pressed on the on switch until the water boils.
Thanks for the great vid! I was initially put off by such a long video, but really glad I took the time to watch (even if I did fast-forward through parts). I now feel I have a good idea of how to use all the features of my new vacuum. Its making me excited to get going with hoovering this house!! --- Unfortunately I have been told off and forced to hold off on my vacuuming for now by my stressed girlfriend, who is working on a deadline from home in the next room due to corona virus :(
great video ive just got one and im pleased with it was going to get a shark but opted for this small ball allergy model i paid £ 159 i had a voucher so great value thanks again !
What a brilliant review , easy to understand, and straightforward , thank you 😊 I was going to go for a Shark but somehow they look cheap 🤨!bought the small ball allergy will let you know how I get on with it !
Brilliant instructional video. Really helped me assemble. I had to return mine coz of a fault and the video helped remind me what order to package the hoover back in. Top man
The small balls are my favorite dyson I don’t like the full size because I think they are too bulky but I believe this one is the perfect size and does a good job at cleaning.
Thank you - only helpful video about this hoover. Is it ok to use on hard floors aswell? Do you need to do anything when going between carpet and wooden/tiled floors?
You don’t have to change any settings from carpet to hard floor, but you have the option of turning off the brushroll for delicate hard flooring. On some cushion vinyl floor, you may need to reduce the suction using the slider on the cleaner head.
My advise is to turn it off some of time I’ve only had mine days and red bit on head showing tiny bit of wear ! Wish I’d turned mine off from spinning may have helped.
Currently Have a Dc24, V6 Absol, V8 absol, V8 Animal, just got a V11 Absolute to go with my Sebo x4, Miele C3 electro with seb228 x2 and my CX1 comfort and S8 cat and dog.. I think the V11 does a good job on auto but once you get that Seb miele out and use it, you deffo get more out of the carpet but it's close.
I don't understand why they do not implement the hygienic empty feature in their uprights. They implemented it in recent stick cordless and cylinder vacuums, but none of uprights. Simply why? And why none of their corded cylinder/upright vacuum (beside Japan market) for EU market was never implemented with one of their digital motor?
Hi, Can you please give me advise on the DC46 compare to the DC26, both are canisters. I'm about to buy a used one. On your review, you didn't like the DC 26.
Despite it being basically the same as Light Ball, WHICH describes it as DON'T BUY. Which is a bit of a surprise cause Light Balls were their Best Buys.. It just shows how unreliable their tests are.. It got 2 starts for carpet cleaning, while straight suction Miele got 5 stars..
What tools are Compatible with the small ball multifloor compact on the far right? I picked one up almost brand new from a thrift store however it has no accessories...would the tanglefree turbine tool be Is compatible with that vaccum?
I cannot get the Dyson line straight. They are the vacuum equivalent of Porsche, the same vacuum design sent through a photocopier at different sizes, but the chances of buying the one you want seems like a game of roulette.
Roger, could you please have a look if the tool holders from Ball Animal 2 work on this model? I don't like the upholstery tool on the combination tool and don't like carrying tangle free turbine. Thank you in advance
The bin will move upwards when carrying the cleaner to prevent the bin release button from being pressed in. As long as you can’t hear any air escaping around the bin, then it’s normal.
Thanks for the review. I'm just wondering if this Dyson is more or less or similarly powerful to the Dyson Small Ball Multi Floor that it replaced? I ask this because the Dyson Small Ball Multi Floor has 2 tiers of cyclones and is rated at 150AW, whereas this vacuum cleaner only has 1 tier of cyclones and is rated at 90AW.
I have Dyson DC40 MKII and I am disappointed to it's performance on the medium pile carpets. My other bagless (Sharks) and especially bagged uprights are noticeably better. I have been thinking of getting Light Ball, but I am concerned will it be any better than the DC40 MKII. For me it's no thanks for the cordless models, but these latest corded uprights look promising.
Yes, I bought this Dyson small ball after viewing this video. However you failed to point out the shortcomings with the Flexi hose when it's being extended. Extending the hose to the ceiling doesn't show the issue with the vacuum no keeping in one place when pulling the hose out. I have to put a 3kg block of wood in front of the wheels to stop it moving. Very poor design, which I had opted for a lift out Peter
Yes a Shark Powered Lift Away would have been better. Shame you didn’t check my Shark videos first. All uprights I’ve used apart from the discontinued Miele U1 will fall over when using the hose unless securely at the bottom of the stairs,
Hey mate really like your videos 😁 Could you tell me what the difference is between the small ball animal 2 and the small ball allergy? I'm going to purchase one or the other next week but here in Ireland there is an 80 euro difference in with the small ball animal 2 being more expensive? The only tangible difference I can see is the extra tools that come with it.
@@ibaisaic No problem at all looks like its the small ball allergy it is. It's confusing when they advertise them like that 😁 if I need the anti tangle tool I can buy it separately 😁 Thank you very much for the reply.
They perform about the same with a £100 price difference, so it’s up to you if you want to pay the extra for the articulated joint on the hose and a slightly larger bin.
I got a Dyson ball, it's not at great like the bin getting blocked and I have to put my hand in the bin to get mess out. bad poor design, hose for clean up stairs feel very hard.
I have a V6 cordless, and im looking to buy a "ball" model, there are currently two versions available, ball allergy @£199 and Ball animal @ £299. What are the differences ? is there any difference in power, capacity between them? Is it worth going for the Ball animal?
I haven’t noticed much of a difference in the performance of both cleaners and apart from a few differences they are very similar. I would save £100 and get the cheaper one.
Been watching several of your vids, you say this is a good choice SHOULD you want a Dyson. Which would be your preferred vacuum out of all brands, please?
Has this more power than the DC40? Because I could get a DC40 relatively cheap. Which of the 2 would be better? And what are the differences between the 2? They seem so similar to me... Which one has more suction power? I am a total noob with vacuums so sorry for possibly dumb questions 😅 , by the way I love your videos. They are so relaxing to me.
@@ibaisaic Well it's not that much cheaper. Like 50 pounds. I just thought because I read somewhere the DC 40 has 100 AW of power and the Small Ball Allergy 90AW that would maybe make a difference. But I think I'll go with the Small Ball Allergy because it's an older DC40 without the red slider at the base so I don't think that's good.
does anyone know what this is like picking up dogs hairs from carpets please? I just ordered one for my mum direct from Dyson, delighted at the price but expected to pay more so hoping it will fair up against her old DC50.
I don't think so because UK has 240 voltage and US 120v. Also the connection for the floorhead is different. Dyson should bring these new models to the US. I don't understand why they are in Europe only.
Another fine video Roger. I'll take a bagged Miele or Sebo any day over a Dyson. Too much maintenance and cheap plastic on these cleaners. Nice sweater by the way !

Sir, Thank you so much for your time, effort and very detailed presentation. God Jesus bless you.
A very professional video Roger. You are the best. I hope that this dyson is value for money.
Better value than the cordless, although there is currently £100 of the V11 Absolute.
