Hi Tara. So pleased I found your channel. I really enjoyed your harvest series. And you made each day fascinating by sharing the emotions and feelings. I am slowly catching up. My Uncle had a farm - sheep, wheat, potatoes, when I was a child; I so enjoyed visiting and still have vivid memories of being there. UK farms are much smaller. Love the chickens, another childhood memory sitting in the hen-house with the bantams when something had upset me. Best wished for your vineyard.

GPS is great for planting corn beans and wheat. In John Deere tractors there is a resume button so you don't have to press the button on the screen.

Here in the Midwest what you called the gopher hole is called a subsoiler/pan breaker and the thing attached to it that makes the tunnel we call a mole, and the ring roller is called a culti-packer. It's interesting how what things are called varies across the country. Your dad is warming up to the camera a little bit more in each video and I'm looking forward to the Q&A video with you and him. Wish we could trade weather we haven't seen dust like that in the fields hardly at all this year, we went from rain to snow and our ground moisture is around 90% saturation. Thanks for sharing and I hope you all get some rain

I know I'd be grabbing that wheel "too many times" just out of habit if I had to deal with AUTOSTEER......I'm sure I'd get it out of my system, just short of putting a note on the wheel saying "I'm Not A Do-nut...LET ME GO"....LOL This video was truly a treat to receive after all the fun of the Corn Harvest. A fun way to show everyone just a sampling of what goes on in The Alfalfa Growing scheme. That Tree Coloring @ 15:25 was Natures Way Of Painting without all the mess or cleanup!! Thanks Tara and Cheers From Ohio To You and The Fans !

Way down here in the MS Delta, we have land that ranges from sandy silt to heavy buckshot. One way we would describe that fine silt ground where you planted and rolled the alfalfa is
"ice cream dirt" It is the kind of ground you could farm with a "bantam rooster and a fork"
    Great show!!

If your turning left and it won’t disengage try turning right then back to the left. We have a case ih puma 210. Which is the case ih version of your tractor. It takes a little left and right turn to get the auto steer to disengage. Great videos.

You should be able to get a foot switch to engage and disengage the autosteer. Just sits on the floor. SO much easier especially if the steering wheel disengage doesn't always work. And you don't have to try to touch screen button while bouncing AND better to hold UA-cam camera ).

How many pounds an acre do you plant when broadcast. I use a brillion sure stand seeder packer at about 12 to 15 lbs an acre. Which is like your ring roller with a seed box on top.

Auto steer is almost required planting Peanuts, because the plants canopy and you cannot tell where the rows are......You use the same record you planted with to maintain row accuracy when inverting... ..

When the auto steer would not kick off is precisely why I am not ready to have self driving cars and trucks on the road with me. That stuff can fail. So can humans but most humans have a conscience machines don’t.

@@TaraBeaverCoronado ya I no you farmers are doing it they do it over here as well. I just don't like it .cos I was on the farms from 8 years old. You are trusting on to many computers nowhere days so you taking the skill off farming away. So when all the computers go wrong so many very young people don't no what to do. I'm very old school from when I first started farming until I had to give up not through my choice. Cos I miss it so much. And it's getting in to . To much money to put things right same as new cars . Cos parts cost so much it's cheap to buy new. Cos I had to give up being a macanic as well so I can only just about fix my own stuff now. And that's getting harder. But my son has taken after me so wich is one good thing. But I just like all farming video's and how farms do things a different way. But you doing a great job and videos so keep them coming and I will keep watching them. Thanks for the reply.
