Thank you for posting this vedio. 3 days ago, we found an Indian ring neck baby in our yard. He had a badly poked beak after being ambushed by a cat. Poor guy was really lethargicI so I bought the Harrison's mash and Fed him and luckily after 2 hours he was lively again!
I didn't know how much to feed him though so thank you for the tip! I'm also keeping him in a ordinary cage without any bedding. I didn't know they liked to burry themselves. Will buy him a bedding today and see how it goes. Most videos I've seen on UA-cam about it were Indian and not thorough enough with details. So thank you once again. 😁

I have a 3 weeks old. He is struggling to feed so much he spit it out and just doesn’t seem hungry.. I feel like we are trying to over feed him… the back of the packet did say he should be eating like 50ml. But we can’t even get 10 in…

Hi Katlyn, I don’t use the recommended feed amounts bc every baby is different. I use their crop as my guide. Start with an empty crop; will feel much like the area of skin between our clavical bones. Always start new feeds with an empty crop. A full crop should not be too hard. It needs to be rounded and little spongy. I feed three week old babies approx every 6 hours as long as their crop is empty, 4 weeks old I reduce to every 8 hours as long as baby is maintaining/gaining weight.

My ring neck is now 13-14 weeks old, he does not like his formula anymore, and only wants to eat, fruit, corn, vegetables, should I stop giving him formula?

Your formula looks a bit thick to me, i was feeding my 9 week old ringneck formula with the same consistency and today he felt really weak and couldn’t even walk properly, had one eye shut, so i took him back to the store i got him from and the guy told me by looking at his poop that the formula is too thick, he told me to give him formula which is a bit more runny and he gave me medicine for him for the next 4 days. I hope my baby chubby survives and thrives it will break my heart if something was to ever happen to him

There is couple of things wrong in the video. Different formula brands should have different consistency and temperature. Your formula is way more thick for other formulas, announce it in your video. Second and most important: where did you use the thermometer, people watching this video might feed too cold formula which would result in sour crop and eventually into crop stasis, or they might burn the parrot crop, which is a disaster and needs surgery. These types of videos should be made by experts that mention and explain all the important stuff.

Hi, i just got an indian ringneck. He's around 6 weeks old. I have it for four days, but he's still hiding under the box material like yours. When i take it outside the box to feed him, it doesn't stand up. It just lay down like when in the box. Is that normal? Is he still shy or its something wrong with his feet. When he grab with his feet its too strong. Looking forward for an answer/advice. Thanks

I just got an 6 to 8 week old Indian ring neck . I’m worried I’m either feeding it too much or too little . How many times a day should I feed it? The seller said 2 times but I’m not sure

@@BirdAndbeyond do you choose kiln treated over heat treated? I've just heard about some of the problems with pines hydrocarbons. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for getting back to me :)

To be honest with you, I have no preference and never paid attention on treatment. As you can see, all of our babies are very healthy. We have over 300 birds and never had any issues at all.Again Im only sharing my experience so please be sure to do your research throughly. 🙂
