Thanks for watching and replying. I like them too but generally don't drink out of them. There is a liquid treatment made in Australia that makes them waterproof.
Hey Wes ! That firing worked out pretty good , considering that you used pine wood ! The old “Ring” test is a good testament to your good work ! I love how the white came out in your bowl ! Thx for sharing !
Nice video and a nice activity while camping. I also liked the bowl and mug/tumbler. Looks like the Pima Brown and Backyard clay is working well. What was the white and black? I assume the black was the manganese you got in AZ. I'm wondering if maybe you were a little underfired as the pots didn't seem to have a real "ping" when thumped.
Thanks Gene. The white and black bowl was a Pima-brown clay. White slip is from St. Johns, black is manganese from western New Mexico. You may be right about underfiring. I'm afraid to soak them in a tub of water to find out. I forgot my pyrometer and I'm not sure how hot the fire was. I was concerned that with a round fire ring there wouldn't be enough air flow. The learning continues...........
Nice cup! I love cups a lot!

Kiln Gods have been working for you. They are getting better too. Fun to do and you'll have a nice collection of gods.

I really appreciate your comments. It helps to know that people are paying attention.
will trade knives for pottery. Also horsekind, beads, weasel skins. Possible meeting in Rocky Mountain West or N. MN. Delightful video.

Thanks for sharing. Great video. It’s nice to see the making as well as the firing.
Try the microwave.
Always an option, assuming there's electricity. Thanks for watching.
