About Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami:
Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami (Robert Hansen, 1927 - 2001), also known as Gurudeva by his followers, was born in Oakland, California, and adopted Hinduism as a young man. He was the 162nd head of the Nandinatha Sampradaya's Kailasa Parampara and Guru at Kauai's Hindu Monastery which is a 382-acre temple-monastery complex on Hawaii's Garden Island.
Subramuniyaswami founded the Saiva Siddhanta Church (world's first Hindu church) in 1949, and established Kauai's Hindu Monastery in 1970. He also founded the magazine - 'Hinduism Today'.
For over five decades Subramuniyaswami, affectionately known as Gurudeva, taught Hinduism to Hindus and seekers from all faiths.
Subramuniyaswami has written several books on Hinduism, Saivism, yoga and meditation. His works are highly regarded by many of today's Hindu leaders. Subramuniyaswami's largest work, The Master Course trilogy, is a complete explanation on all parts of Hinduism (Saivism), including the Hindu approach to meditation and metaphysics.
He hailed from the Nandinatha Sampradaya's Kailasa Parampara, a line of gurus dating back 2,200 years, and passed the continuity on to his successor, Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami, who now heads the monastery and all of its activities worldwide, including Saiva Siddhanta Church, Himalayan Academy Publications, Hinduism Today magazine and Hindu Heritage Endowment.

May all beings realize that no one is ever eternally forgotten, condemned or persecuted and may they find the certainty of that eternal hope and promise within themselves.
May all beings find, receive and extend genuine forgiveness.
May all beings find Redemption in the eternal assurance that they are unconditionally loved, valued, forgiven & blessed by the very source of Life itself.
May all beings find refuge in the very source of Love itself and within the silence of the heart.
May all beings appreciate the Tears of Redemption, Atonement & At Onement, of repentance & resurrection by Forgiveness that have the power to release even the darkest dungeons of hell and can purify even to the Heavens most High.
May all beings awaken to the fact that this world with it's oceans of suffering is just an outward projection that precisely mirrors and reflect an INWARD Condition and that no genuine healing CAN be accomplished by merely acting upon the outward reflection without correcting and healing the inward condition.
May all beings realize that Life neither originated from death nor does it ever end there but only from Eternal Life itself.

I have a feeling this is about to change my life.
My husband and I visited the kuaii Monestry and the Mandirs or temples, so peaceful and the Hawaii ppl believe it’s the place where earth meets Heaven. Loved everything about the place. OM NAMAH SHIVAYA.

I feel that in today's time, one should meditate and strive to find truth by himself, this is probably the only way to avoid frauds..also, it is extraordinarily difficult to find a true Guru, i searched in all the major spiritual organisations, talked to a number of Swamis but couldn't find anyone who could help... Hence, we need to save our precious time & go on meditating, afterall, if Buddha can find truth without a guru, we too can..
Its said from ancient times that the Guru will appear for those who are ready for it. Otherwise they will have to continue the cycle .

It is said that if there is an intense craving in your heart for the highest calibre of Master and pray directly to the God. The Master will come at your door step you need not to go to Him ,He will come to you.
Absolutely right. Each one is his own guru. We must just strive to listen to our intuition as it is the highest conciousness. Good or bad, right or wrong go with your conscience. Don't hurt yourself; you will not hurt others.

I applied for Kauai monestery,Hawai (Himalayan Academy) but due to my over age they suggested me to find another monestery
yes, they only accept below 25 years for monastic life....... but they have no age barrier to be a student or follower
