    You could have just used loop cuts so you wouldn't have all those non square faces on the edges of your mesh. You also could have just pressed 7 to go to top view.

      Yep, I believe you are correct. So many different ways but I think your way would make for a better workflow.

      even better again, select the face/faces you want, then just subdivide that, instead of selecting the whole thing

    for all Today, look for " Cell Fracture" its almost the same, good luck - you have to find good setting to make his look like he video, in my project i didnt and the wall looks like one flat peace like before...damn ! i just want one Wall...man

      In cell fracture you can fracture it and then subdivide it and it helps but it's not as good as the crackit.

      @@nusrun1767 It's part of Blender. Go to "edit", "preferences", "addons", type "cell fracture" in the search and put a check next to cell fracture. As far as the in and outs of using cell fracture, I have not used it since many versions of blender ago and I don't remember much about it.

    To get this look with Cell Fracture, subdivide all of them, then add a deformation modifier with the clouds texture, apply this only on 1 axis (outwards) with a strength of 0.5. This is as close as I could get this look.

    The add-on you feature in this video isn't available any longer. Have you used any similar add-ons to get similar effects? It's also interesting seeing how things have changed with the version evolutions as well... 3.2.2 now...

    selecting all them faces is more simple to shift/alt each line of faces, thats 5/6 clicks.

    I have a blog tutorial similar to this, and both have the same problem: the curves end up facing inwards. I've tried everything, from flipping normals, to texture settings, to fracture v. crack, to... I just can't make this work right, man... And I know it's not either of us, I'm following both you and the other guy to the letter. It's something in my settings that I can't fix.

    Since I'm new to Blender and I've downloaded v2.8, I cannot seem to follow this tutorial since the Blender layout seems so different. I was able to get some stuff done but not all of it and certainly not enough for it to look like a stone wall.

      @@shayonisarkhel Off the top of my head I'd use the cell fracture and then subdivide to round the corners and then combine all the pieces into one object by using ctrl j.

    Can't find the crack it addon at all, did they remove it in the newer versions? Why do I struggle to find an answer to such cases on the internet, isn't it that blender got a big community!

      I don't think it's in the new versions. But you can download the old version(2.79) create it in it and then "append" it into the new versions.

      @@BlenderRookie I recently started learning Blender, so the UI in 2.79 kinda drove me mad XD
      So in the material tab I can't find the "surface" options to change to principled, that's the current issue

    Any way to make the stones overlay each other like bricks? This looks good and almost there, but in a gust of wind it would fall apart.

      If you need it to look like carved stone you could just use the cell fracture and then bevel the cells.

      @@BlenderRookie I need to make it look like a hand made stone wall, where the stones comes in varying sizes but are like 90% square. And overlap at least 10% on the joints.

    This was the most infuriating thing to watch be explained. I didn't even get halfway into it before screaming "JUST PRESS NUMPAD 7 TO GET A BOTTOM-DOWN VIEW!! THEN PRESS B TO CREATE A HIGHLIGHTING SELECTING TOOL YOU COULD JUST DRAG THE MOUSE ON TO SELECT THE FACES!!! OR YOU COULD HAVE JUST PRESSED ALT+SELECT!!!"
    Granted, the finished product is fantastic, but holy crap.

    It looks like 'crack it' is now part of 'fracture cell', otherwise this is still relevant in blender 3.x (so far)

    For some reason my cell fracture doesn't make all the pieces solid. And the dang edges of his bricks are smooth and beveled...🤷🙄🤔mine aren't. But I was able to find the cell fracture in 2.82. Enable cell fracture then it's in object/quick effects/cell fracture.

      That's a known glitch. Unfortunately I don't know of a workaround.

    Crack it does not exist in blender 2.91 and I could not find those side tabs create it anywhere in Blender, need some help please

      There's not automated way to make it in 2.8 and newer.

    Which version of Blender do you have? Mine doesn't have an option for dimensions

      The version in this video I believe was 2.79. Currently I use 2.91.

      @@gr8m8n8 yeah I found same but if you play around using both tutorials you can get close enough. I found using particle effect and 0.5 scale was the wrong style for me. I used the start of this video. I even sometimes add a single edge loop on the top/on the sides of the wall.

      Not that I am aware of, I believe it was eliminated. However, there is a workaround. Just create the cracked object(s) in 2.7? and then save the blend and then append it into 2.8. That's the only option I have found to make it work.

    Unfortunately this does not exist in 2.8x :( I can do " cell fracture" but it doesnt create a stone wall like yours did

      Yeah, it's not in the newer version. I would download 2.79 and use it to create the wall and then save the project and append that wall into a project open in the new versions. That's really the only automated way I know of.

      Last time I checked crackit doesn't exist for 2.8 and newer. But you can create it in 2.79 and then "file" "append" that cracked object into a 2.8 and newer project.

    The whole list of Base Color, Roughness in your software, I dont have in mine. I've searched everywhere.. So I'm left with a glossy stonewall.. :P Which Blender do you have? I have 2.79

      As far as I know it's not available in 2.8. So you need to create it in 2.79 and then append it from that into a 2.8 or open that 2.79 project into 2.8.

      Nah, they aren't the same thing. Crackit needs cell fracture but cell fracture alone isn't crackit.
      However, you can use 2.79 to create the cracked object and then append it into a newer version.

      @@zaninakuhinja953 Here's a quick wall I made that's procedural. It will help you learn the process by looking at the modifiers.
      On the right you can adjust the "size" and "intensity" to make the wall look different. You can also change it from "musgrave" to something else for a different style. You can also add more subdivisions in the modifiers for more details.

      IDK, let me check.
      Unfortunately not that I can find. The "Crack it" addon doesn't seem to be available in 2.8. But you can create the object in 2.7* and "append" it into a 2.8 project.

    The cell modifier is a piece of shit, doesn't work normally
