If it really maters.From what I understand they don't exactly "fix" the adults. They kill the larve by the bacteria causing their digestive track to not function properly causing them todie, so once the adults lay their eggs and they eventually die they life cycle is broken.
I have a small lot. 1/4 in a bucket of water in each corner worked within 1 week. The minute I saw a mosquito I realized it was time for another chunk in each bucket. Mosquito Dunk worked and only used 3 total for the mosquito months.
Mosquito Bits are made by the same manufacturer, but it’s more granular about the size of grape nuts. I use about a teaspoon per container. I also heard that mosquitoes preferred dark areas and are attracted to red. My traps are made from large coffee cans that are spray-painted in dark camouflage paint and I put some red tape around the rim. I also heard that mosquitoes are attracted to rancid stinky water so I also put a handful of dirt in the container. I placed them in dark shaded areas. They have been very effective for me.
Great video. Your description of hire the drunks work may be incorrect. The dunks kill the the larvae, not the adults. Since the adults don’t last long, eventually the area will have less mosquitoes.
It is sort of difficult to truly understand the science behind the dunks. However, the results are very clear. We are historically ay war with the mosquitoes all summer and this year we have seen a very impressive difference. Thanks for watching and sharing the comment. Have a fabulous day
We stepped up our bug intolerance this year, adding several different items to the arsenal, but none are chemical agents. The Dunks still are the main line of defense, and they work wonders
Haters are just part of this process. They would truly hate what avenue we have taken since the Mosquito Dunks have been very hit and miss, and it is electrifying, to say the least

I do the same thing by setting out 5 gallon buckets with a half a dunk in each.

These worked for us! Been using them for several years. We live in a watershed in NC and the dunks work!!
