Great video you make it look so easy
Great boat!!!
Hi james love your reviews.
Hi loved this video just wondered though why you didn't you use the joystick when leaving returning to berth ? , is it just because you're a pro and prefer the "old"way of using the throttles for each engine ?
Hi Michael, I'm just so used to the regular controls, it's second nature. For someone with less experience, the joystick is a fantastic confidence-booster! James
good demo
Very, very nice!
Thank you very much!
@@TheVirtualYachtBroker It's been very helpful seeing you take the boat out. One of the best videos you have recorded. Look forward to the next one.
Great video! What Sidepower thrusters are installed in this boat?
Hi Morten, they’re proportional Sleipner thrusters. The bow is standard fit (10.7hp) and then an option for a stern unit (8.4hp).
when the auto-pilot is enabled, does it "talk" to the radar if there's an object in the way?
No, unfortunately the pilot just tracks a course heading, so a captain still needs to monitor other vessel traffic / water hazards / appropriate depth etc. You can use a function within the radar called MARPA, which allows the manual aquisition of a target (basically a blob on the radar), and the system will then monitor the course/speed in relation to you. We also use more and more AIS (auto identification system) which allows better tracking of other vessels (it's mandatory over a certain size but not for all yachts). Hope that helps.
