I love the extra podcasts that this channel has been pumping out. I really enjoyed the RES Basketball Podcast and I have been enjoying this pod equally as well. Great work gentleman!
I would definitely say Staley is on the hotseat especially if Minnesota beats them this next week. If Minnesota loses, I think despite their record last year fans/ownership are well aware that team is rebuilding or "reloading" or however you want to call it and short of a total 1-2 win collapse their coach is safe. Staley has had raised expectations the second he walked into that building and those haven't lowered. This is an organization that fired a HC after a what, 14-2 season? He was expected with his defensive knowledge to be the answer to get them over the hump; playoffs should be expected to be minimum bar.
I agree, however I don't want the jets be in a situation where Zack needs the experience but they get another QB and end up what the niners went through with trey lance
Jets picking up a new qb is hands down the absolute worst take, FIX THE O LINE they literally got a hof veteran qb and he got laid out in 4 snaps Zach Wilson is out here running for his god damn life
You guys should start the podcast looking at your predictions for the overreactions of this week to see how close you were or how ridiculous they sound now that you've seen Sunday play out.
The bears and jets are facing the exact same situation. Their QBs cant QB* both of them have all the talent, yet, they don't understand that being a quarterback isnt just about throwing the football. You have to read and play against the defense! And they have no continuity whatsoever with any of their players. It's so useless.
Jets should just roll with Wilson this year. And, draft his replacement in 2024, now that they have their 1st back. Rookie can sit for a year as Aaron tries to get a CPOY trophy.
Jets cant trade the protected Rodgers 1st rd. pick for a QB right now since its still tied up in the trade with Green Bay until the end of the season. To free it up to use, they have to go back to the Packers and make a deal with them.
Russell Wilson today has grass growing out of his helmet, a few body orifices, and between his toes, he was tackled and hit so much yesterday. And it wasn't because he was holding the ball too long.
Fields is not a good nfl qb. He was an amazing college qb, but doesn’t fit the nfl. Much like Tebow. Great college qbs and good people, just not great nfl qbs. Osu qbs are never that good in nfl. Trend continues.
The OSU QB narrative is so fucking stupid and overused. You probably just repeated what some other clueless schmuck said. Ohio State has only had FIVE QB's drafted in the first round in it's entire history. Don Scott died in WWII before playing a snap in the NFL. That leaves 2 busts in Schlichter and Haskins (who I hesitate to call a bust considering how terrible Washington was and how young his life was cut short). The jury is still out on Fields and Stroud has played 2 games for dogshit Houston. Gotta stop this nonsense of acting like there's this loooong list of QB's from Ohio State who didn't pan out.
The Jets aren't gonna trade for another teams backup QB. If you do what are you really saying? If the back up plays better than Zach are you done with Zach and trade him away? If you keep Zach, is he gonna be the third string QB? You are basically creating the same situation as you had in Trey Lance. 49ers traded away Trey Lance to avoid the same distraction and they are sitting fine.
As far as Justin Fields, the Bears didn’t commit to him long term last offseason. They just got enough around him so they could get a fair evaluation on him in 2023. They have both their own and the Panthers 2024 first round picks. The trade back last year was all about giving them the option to commit to him or replace him in 2024.
@@christopherharris3229 because they had bryce young fall into their lap, they never should’ve had the first overall pick to begin with. This year there’s gonna be 5+ teams tanking for caleb
I don't get the "it's only one/two games", the playoffs and Superbowl are only one/two games. Should preseason be made more important so teams come out ready at the start of the season?
The year is 2032. Pats still have zero playoff wins without Brady. Rich somehow still thinks the great and mighty Belichick has nothing to worry about 😄
I still don’t know about Fields. He’s got to get better and does deserve a lot of the criticisms, I’m not gonna excuse his poor play this week. But I still think Coaching is killing this team more, they seemed to have scraped the offense which was the only real bright spot from last year, in favor of turning Fields into a pocket passer which he is not. I still am holding out that he can improve and become a great QB for the bears but the clock is ticking
@@scruffd0g193 Draft another QB and then fire the coaching staff the following year for a 3rd straight time? This play calling is so bad, I wouldn't trust them with another QB.
They have called maybe 1 designed run for Fields in the first 2 weeks. That's not acceptable from Getsy. If you're not gonna take advantage of his running ability or call more boots and rollouts, they are basically setting him up to fail. Call me a conspiracy theorist but I wouldn't be shocked if the new regime wants him to fail so they can move on.
@@viktorstagnetti7491 They're risking their jobs if they're trying to make Fields fail. Hanlon's razor says not to attribute anything to malice when it can be better explained by incompetence. There are only a handful of dudes smart enough to put together this kind of offense. But Fields would excel in this role. He's not a pocket passer and he never will succeed as one.
Even though Rodgers wont be able to play enough snaps to upgrade the pick to the Packers to a #1, the trade prevents the Jets from trading their 1st round pick until the season ends.
Seattle should consider trading Lock to the Jets. He's shown high upside in the Seattle system, he will be motivated for a job somewhere next season, and he's only under contract for this year. Make the call!
As a Falcons fan Rich is pretty spot on with the Falcons takes. The falcons arent going to the superbowl this year. Ridder is still in development. Playoffs this year? Yes. Next year, we are for real for real
The Jets' first round pick, which they now get to keep, is technically held up in the trade and not available to move during this league year unless Green Bay agrees to restructure the contract.
What about trading for a slightly better version of Wilson and go for Trey Lance? Just throwing that out there. You wouldn't need to spend your 1st round pick and you still have Wilson as a backup... Plus, he's played for Salah before..
When a team trades a bunch of 1sts for a QB, never plays him, then trades the guy ahead of him to play a DIFFERENT low round QB they picked on a whim it should tell you that Lance can't play. Any team wasting any picks on him is delusional.
I think you maybe partially correct, sir. He just maybe not that head smart which is why he is perfect for the Jets. Obviously Wilson isn't that head smart either but at least Lance is more of an athlete who you can create schemes for. Not saying he won't make mistakes but he's obviously a better option than Wilson at a low cost. Again, give me a better option.
I’m gonna come out and say it. The Jets and the Bears are the two worst teams to go to as a quarterback. The biggest mistake that Wilson and Fields made was to allow themselves to be drafted to those teams. They know defense, but they don’t have a clue what they’re doing on the offensive side. The best thing for them is to be treated or released so they can find themselves a team that knows what they’re doing.
No the Jets do not have their first or second round picks to trade for until the season officially ends. Think of it like money in an escrow account where you've met the conditions to get the money but not the time, so you know the money is yours but you still have to wait for the preset time limit to expire. The Jets would need to rework the trade with the Packers and why on earth would they be inclined to do that? The Jets certainly have no... leverage, this time.
over reaction to the Falcons and Washington. The NFC South now has 3 undefeated teams. It's only 2 weeks guys with a lot of football left to play let's let the dust settle and see where we are around Thanksgiving time. Still too much football to play boys
IMHO the Jets are in an "OK" position at QB. Wilson isn't great right now, but he's not bad either, and he could be great. More importantly, there's not a Veteran QB available right now that's worth their 1st round pick. Use that pick on a Tackle.
I love Brandon Stayley as a person but,the way he spoke to the media in that press conference was disrespectful and he needs to have someone speak to him before he goes into the press conference and prepare him for the likely questions coming!!!!
Here's the issue with the Jets signing someone: By the time they could get someone who could actually make a big difference, it'll be too late. When Rodgers went down, our season was over, especially when you have a moronic OC that only calls 16 run plays against a top defense/pass rush. The latter part of the schedule is much easier than the beginning, so we'll see what happens.
Just think about this. If the Jets trade with Denver for Russ, they could save on laundry bills. The two quarterbacks could share jerseys. Whoever is in can wear it and swap if need be.
I really love what TUA and Miami are doing, but I think you're wrong about them being the most complete team in the AFC. I think if they played either the Chiefs or the Bills 10 times in a row right now, they'd lose the majority of them (6 or more).
I love when "on pace" stats get thrown around in week 2.
BTW....the Commanders are on pace to go undefeated this year.
George Washington never told a lie either 😱😱
Yup Bucs too lol
Fun Fact: Jordan Love is on pace for 51 touchdowns and 0 interceptions
Multiple dropped picks too in that game.

Yes!! This must happen.
They could incorporate re-visiting the previous What's More Likely to see the results.
Why are people so forgiving of Fields??? Because he can run??? Isnt he a QB though?? Shouldnt he be able to pass and beat U??? Seems logical......
Justin Fields literally cannot function throwing the football, which is the number one job of a QB.
This is such an amazing podcast
I love this new segment. keep up the good work.
Keep this segment around boys!
Gaffer. Excellent job. I can no longer see the genesis of all time and space in the reflection on Rich's head. Well done sir or madame.
The Jets need to call Nick Foles. He's the guy who's gonna give them the best chance without blowing it himself.
I hear Wentz has nothing to do right now lol
Saint Nick!!!
He played 4 games in the last 2 years and has never done well outside of Philly. Time to come home and retire.
