I appreciate that info. I'm about to change my career by going to truck driving school. I'm looking at two companies that's close to me. Sygma and pfg. I'm taking everything in about food truck drivers. You've been helping me a lot. Thanks fam.
I have my pre employment driver test for Cheney on Monday then I get my start date and they do component pay as well with a min of 210 for the day thanks for the info.
Just started working for us foods in North Carolina first time getting component pay thanks for this video can you further explain the overtime pay for me
interview with pfg next week component pay is what i start off with home daily but ill go to different states i have to stay lay overs 1-2 days a week so i guess you can say its regional
So do you truly think component pay is better than hourly pay, given all the work you have to do? Or, do you think some sort hybrid mix of hourly and component would work best? I'm curious!
I think a fair mix would be best but that would be so hard to figure out. Just think if they paid us like $40 an hour how many guys would be milking the clock. And there would be less production.
@@RLC876TV Ok thanks for the response. I’m currently trying to build out a model to compare the two types of pay for my company. I’ve heard a mix of responses of that they like. I feel like you could somehow have a base pay while also incentivizing performance per say to try and curb the “milking of the clock”
Do you suggest someone fresh out of driving school to go get they hustle on at a food service if they don't wanna go otr or regional? Will try train you in how to drive and make it thru right spaces? I can use the workout for a fact and im willing to get in shape I know I need drive time I just really don't want to go otr if they can train I will do the work the 🥖 looks really good and I want in just want to know if they will train how to drive so no one gets hurts
@@RLC876TV respect bro I'm new to this food service stuff I'm really not in the best shape but I'm willing to give it a try and get in shape for real because I know it's work.... us foods is the closest to me so I figured I ask someone about it it's literally like 20 mins from me

@@patthetrucker5670 I’ve worked for 2 in Jackson us foods and merchants. A bad week at us foods is about 1k on the extra board and a good week about 2k. Wide variance but it depends on the restaurant market at the time
@@kwesley2512 aight appreciate the fast response. Merchants has called and I'm doing a phone interview with them today. What are the pros and cons at Merchants ?
@@patthetrucker5670 I’ve worked there also about 7 years ago. If you don’t have any foodservice experience you’d better hope you get a excellent trainer with merchants. Don’t expect any office support in talking you through situations just get to know other drivers there. Don’t expect a ton of money at merchants. They didn’t operate off a seniority board when I was there but off favoritism, they still deal with a lot of mom and pop cash accounts which is dangerous. The only pro for me would be them finally getting new equipment. Not to discourage you but merchants is the lower grade food service in the Jackson area but they do help you get your feet wet. I’d lean more towards us foods or Ben Keith and Sysco after those. Literally my highest check at merchants was 700 dollars. Hated it there but us foods trained me better, paid me better and was way more organized.
Perfect. I've been searching for a video with this info, and couldn't find any. Thank you!!!

I like McLanes way of figuring out how much I make a day. Weight, revenue, and mileage. No Chinese arithmetic confusion.

If you finish your route early and they force you to go help somebody you get your daily average to go help.
Thats good every plant is different
Sysco break down is similar to this
Is this for Sysco?
