It was the same for Argentina, who lost to Saudi, but Argy chose to pray & not bash the boss & then destiny chose Messi to turn it on. Leo undressed the ManC defender & made a lovely defence unlocking pass/assist like only he & Trent can..
3-4-2-1 - I like it.
Hopefully more effective than our current 8-1-1.
I don't think a 3 at the back would work for us at all!! I'd just keep it a 4 and play Joe Gomez at left back. I don't think Swithland will play a low block so it will give Foden and Saka more chance to do damage. Not gonna lie though I don't see the harm of Palmer and Gordon starting, especially Gordon, pace scares defenders it always has done!!
If you ever feel useless remember theres phil foden for england ...
The change might be that the back 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 now stay so far back they keep in line with Pickford
I’d hope if the rumours of a back 3 is true . I’d want England to play with 2 strikers preferably Kane and Watkins with Jude in behind, Saka and Gordon on the wings and in the middle of the park a Rice and Mainoo partnership .
Sounds silly but imo Kane needs to do a Rooney and drop into a deeper role for good. He doesnt have the legs to pull a line apart and would do better with his passing ability and arriving into the box later with space. Either that or play two strikers is the only way to get Kane doing things in an England shirt
@@fablenumber1fani agree. He's more of a 10 these days
Kane and Toney would be better imo
@@fablenumber1fan 100%
This is actually a very rational idea.
At this point any change is welcome, i look forward to it
Knowing Southgate he will go with 3 CBs with an England team that should be blowing away teams with the attacking line up they've got. What a joke!
Saka, Foden, Kane and Trippier need to go out of the team. Get Palmer, Gordon, Toney/Watkins and Trent in this team
Your teams has won absolutely nothing for 50 years. No, you cannot and should not be blowing teams away. France with their world cups don't speak they way English fans speak with an empty trophy cabinet. Italy, the 2006 world cup winners and current Euro holders were dumped out and their fans took it with grace, knowing that other teams have improved over the years. Even Spain got dumped out of the world cup by Morrocco. It appears this English arrogance comes with ignorance of the game.
England are a good team on paper, but they would have to prove themselves. They have no pedigree or right whatsoever to feel superior to anybody.
Spot on Catalyst - we will go out without changing at least 3 of the 4 players you mention.
@diligenceeke3023 mate well said deluded fans keep thinking england are a top team they haven't won anything in recent times.
In Southgate we trust, this has been a tactical nightmare for him without Kalvin Phillips :(
Honestly we will be needing Kalvin Philips to get through to the Semi finals - SOUTHGATE💀
If you could teleport 2021 Phillips into this team it would make a big difference, although wouldn't solve the dysfunctional left flank.
3-5-2
Kane toney
Shaw Bellingham mainoo rice Trent
Guehi stones walker
Saka LWB and Trent RWB, Bellingham + Foden the two number 10 roles behind Kane. Midfield anchors Rice as no.8 and Mainoo as no.4
Once you mentioned foden then no one takes you serious 🤦♀
@@mannyyard9882you taking piss guy has been unreal in premier league won player of the year people keep mugging him off is crazy.
@@deanwilson7031 lol, hes in every comment replying the same thing about foden, ignore the hate lmao
Very likely and actually quite good. Bellingham and Foden could press high.
@@deanwilson7031 The PL player of the year was supposed to carry England to the Euros title. Remember that? Or it's because he is playing out of position 😁😁😁😁😁. foden is sh-t in an England shirt. You ppl complain that you haven't won anything since 1966, but keep selecting players like foden 😁😁😁😁😁. Hilarious 😁😁😁😁😁.
will be 3 at the back with 4 defensive midfielders sat infront. Cant wait
ha ha ha, dont forget the side and back passing
If Southgate goes to a back three he should be sacked straight away, are record with a back three is terrible. Not one of those players in that squad play that system and he wants to change it in the quarter finals absolutely clueless.
Southgate have to play palmer and bench saka
I'm gonna cut Southgate some slack and say that: it must be difficult to manage some of the highest paid players, most of whom are playing in the wealthiest league that attracts the best players around the world, and are playing for the country that invented football.
I don't have access to the changing room, but there has to be big egos in that team.
This might be the turning point of the Southgate masterclass. I have strongly believe this might work
I called this after the second game. I think this is act 2 and we’re going to see the real England. Nearly backfired in the last game but if he pulls it off it will be a master stroke
You’re the same lot who keep saying “it’s coming home”
Having three full backs eill be a complete disaster he needs to play 4.4.2 with kane and Toney upfront and two cam. Playing three at the back and well be hammered by half time.
Yes
Trent for Trippier, Saka to left wingback, Gomez for Guehi as Gomez is more used covering the left flank. Could work.
I tend to agree with that
No matter wat he plans is going to fail🧌
England 1-2Switzerland 😂😂😂
Yes finally he actually changing formation now we should play alot better come on England!! 🏴🦁🦁🦁🏴🏴
Im not bothered if the Swiss know what tactics England are going to use. What is more important is that the England players know what tactics they are going to use, are familiar with them, and able to put them into practice in a match situation.
Will they put the ball in the goal?
The swiss will do that against them
The swiss will do that against them
@@_A7X so there will be goals 😊
@@_A7X yes and England also will do to them
We don't like that kind of maverick thinking around here.
I really hope you called the Switzerland team and gave away are tactics direct to them just incase they didn’t see this report 🤦♂️
How is Guehi any different from Stones as "England's best player?" He's not been consistant at all, just because the commentator said one day he's been great, everyone has just copied him.
You joking? Guehi has been our best player by far
@@jayt6200 how?? lol you're just proving my point.
@@pompeyfitnessjames6298 by clearing almost everything, by being calm on the ball, by being in the right place at the right time, by making good tackles, by not giving the ball away, by doing everything we could hope and expect from a centerback like Guehi.
he made a mistake against slovakia that cost us a goal but other than that he hasnt put a foot wrong.
would you like to name 3 other england players that have barely put a foot wrong this tournement?
pickford maybe. but thats it.
Guehi has been our best player mainly because everyone else has been playing so badly and making mistakes.
no hes never gonna be as good as JT or Rio but hes doing a bloody good job.
hes even got the most important assist of the tournement for us.
@@jayt6200 tbf, stones has been aweful so in comparison it makes gehi looking amazing. It's like the girl who brings her uglier girl friend with her to the bar so guys would hit on her😂 😂😂
@@pompeyfitnessjames6298 hahahahaha
He’s asked the kit man to put the socks under the shorts in the changing area
If I were playing against England all I have to do is watch the news for all tactical info 😅
More advanced than Southgates tactics
well we allready know switzerlands formation, lineup and tactics so its not an issue.
Like you can't scout the opposition in the same way 🍩
They are guessing no one knows but southgate
RADICAL CHANGE? SO HE IS QUITTING?
I’m always fascinated how these reporters can use 6mins to report on a story that takes a minute:-) I suppose when you share it three times it helps;-)
Same like English team takes them
5 minutes to get to the other side of the pitch instead of 5 passes...
Harry Kane never been your best player in all major tournaments, why plotting who to play behind him? Let him sit and grant opportunity to players with attitude like Tony or even the Aston Villa striker!
I do not know why everyone is complaining. They are doing well. The teams we played had a very decent set up. Its easy for teams to sit back and make it hard to score. Yes the team isn't balanced but we doing good. We need to encourage the boys not be very critical of them. It's a tough competition
They equalised last minute of injury time against Slovakia. That was their first shot on target. So ‘they are doing well’ looks different to me anyway
@InAMinMaths I get it but alot of the big teams are struggling. Portugal went to penalties. We have to remember the football in the Premier league varies which makes it difficult to have an English style of football. Where most other leagues play the basic football and play it really well. I'm positive and think we will make the final
Finally. I think Gareth’s realised that he can’t stay with the same style.
Switzerland will change absolutely nothing becuz they're facing a small irrelevant team.. Swiss will have absolute fun..Lucky lucky Swiss, they've got a free pass to the semifinals
Mite as well as took Aston Villa legend Gary Shaw at 63 rather than Luke Shaw
Please south gate I already bet Switzerland to win play the same line up as usual 😂😂😂
Luke Shaw is a professional. He's trained all his life for these moments. This like saying Anthony joshua has not had a fight in 5 months. These are elite athletes. Luke Shaw is rested and if he can't jump in to his preferred position and do his job then go serve fish and chips at local chippy.
Why change now when sideways and backwards passes, no press/no plan, and then cross your fingers and hope something good happens has been working so well.
I mean, it HAS worked inasmuch as England are in the QFs with no defeats.
Saka should play where he is told, just like all the other players
3 CB is what I was expecting, worked for him in Euro 2020 (21)
He’s thinking about subbing Kane in the 88th minute
😂
Southgate is getting more adventurous, he had a bath this week without wearing a life jacket.
maybe we'd do better not telling the other team our tactics?
Just let the man do his job. Its probably his last tournament
