Pound for pound there is very little in the entire EU continuity that could go toe to toe with this ship thanks to it's frankly brilliant mix of armor, weapons and fighters and what I suspect is a frankly comically powerful reactor system given the super weapons it can casually mount without needs for massive overhauls
True, it really is overpowered in a lot of ways lol

I am so tempted to write a fic where the Republic build a much larger, modernized version of this ship during the Clone Wars to counter ships like the Malevolence, and a bunch of Republic Loyalists, including a Jedi, make off with it during Order 66.
Certainly a ship I'd want to happen upon by chance during the Rebellion era, as a hulk of course. Bring the ship back into working order, and modernize where needed. Could easily cause havoc on Outer Rim imperial holdings.

@@StarWarsOddball Steal two Venator class cruisers, and at least four Arquitens class light cruisers from the Empire. Both would need a further refit from the Imperial refit. Wouldn't mind a few Pelta class ships, for cargo, manufacturing, mining, and other logistic work.
Overall the main goal would be to have ships that can operate inside the normal combat strategies that the Rebellion employ. Small quick strikes on key locations followed by hasty retreats.
Exactly! But honestly in the end it makes sense that they’d have a lot of retrofit civilian freighters and transport craft. They could only pull together what they could get their hands on and considering the Empire needed all the material they could get for their ISDs and the Death Star, it’s no surprise all the Republic stuff was disassembled. I’d love to see a Republic navy fleet turned Rebel tho!

@@StarWarsOddball Well actually....there was the Valor class dreadnought for the Republic navy that could actually go toe-to-toe with the harrower.However it was more of a dreadnought-carrier than a full-on battleship since it could carry tons of Republic Liberator-class starfighters,bombers as well as boarding shuttles.
@@generalkenobi9602 the Harrower was considered to far outclass the Valor. the only thing the valor did better was be a better fighter launcher. Even the Empires workhorse the Terminus could hold its own against the Valor and probably come out on top. It's toughness was shown when it took on the full brunt of the Eternal Fleets fire power before finally going down.
@@RobertJones-vb2qi Yeah...I really hoped that the Republic would've actually built a dedicated battleship class to take on the Harrowers but having 110+ fighters ready for immediate deployment doesn't hurt either.

I think the biggest selling point of this ship for me is that unlike any other Imperial ship I saw, THIS BLOODY THING HAS TURBOLASERS ON THE UNDERSIDE. Like, you're fighting in space, your ship can be approached from every direction, if you got squat underneath what's you gonna do? Throw shoes outta the underside hangar? With 2:10 at least 8 turbos, probably double or quad, your able to dish out punishment for enemies both above and beneath you. In addition this thing is reasonable size 800 meters is Venator-scale, so this is an empire without Tarkin-we-gotta-overcompensate-for-something doctrine and good for them. I like economic ships, they make sense, you can make more of them cause you know damn well you're gonna loose some, and if a war isn't going your way you can still make em and man em, unlike some other empire that later had to half-man their ships lol

Pretty interesting that the Sith empire would have something similar to the venator. The Venator was sort of a "one ship taskforce / patrol ship", but I guess both needed to conduct independent deep incursions into hostile space - either the republic core worlds or the outer rim - so both would need similar kinds of capabilities in that regard.
Exactly! I think what’s cool about the Harrower compared to the Venator is its ship to ship combat capabilities. Something the Venator lacked

@@Kakarot64. Yep...that's why I like the Harrower so much.No over-exposed command bridge which also provides a more tactical view of the battle situation for the ship's captain without putting themselves at risk.

@@StarWarsOddball So true, the Venator is way too overrated, same with the Republic fleet in general. The Clone War Republic fleet are the worst major fleet in SW if you ignore their imperial prototype designs, and even with those they'd still be cut down by fighters and bombers.
