I was able to snag the really rare version of this game for super cheap and about to play it for the first time. I'm so excited, thank you for this video to remind me how to play
These are the rules of Acquire 1: Once you have their money, you never give it back 3: Never spend more for an acquisition than you have to 6: Never allow your family to stand in the way of opportunity 7: Keep your ears open 9: Opportunity + Instinct = Profit
Great concise review of a classic game! I own the 3M version I have to say it's quite shocking how crappy the Avalon Hill version is, with cardboard tiles sliding around loosely.
Are majority and minority paid with respect to the acquired hotel chain or the acquiring hotel chain, or both? E.g. Purple acquires yellow; would the majority and minority of purple, or yellow, or both, receive bonuses?
Looking up this game. Wow, it's expensive! The game looks fun, but the parts don't look like they're top quality. I was expecting $25 to $40. The cheapest version that I have found is $125.
This was uploaded in 2016 but looks like it was from 2004. Why do I feel like someone goes through and makes the videos look older from fige years and back? LOL
I wish all "how to play" videos were as clean and concise as this one
Totally 🤣😂
Too many channels try to have comedy skits that are completely unfunny and it just drags out the video.

"The game is like regular monopoly, except for these changes"

The hotel being absorbed is the one being paid out. So, the yellow one in your example

Wait, what is this cheap knockoff board and tiles? The ones I remember were made of plastic, and the board had grooves so the tiles would stay put!
Looks like the game fell out of production in the 80s and has been reprinted several times, each time using cheaper materials.
You remember the game when it was made to impress.
