This is a re-upload of a previous video I made years ago, now with added scenes and much better quality, I've done my best to preserve most of the quality and frame rate. Hope you all enjoy! Part 2 will be re-uploaded soon.

It’s such a shame to see how poor corrie is nowadays, watching this feels like watching an actual family with a mysterious side but it’s so great and all the characters are unique and brilliantly portrayed
22 years ago this was first aired, still seems so fresh watching it again .
The best years of Corrie for sure. A great cast and very interesting story's that weren't left in the air. Richard was brilliant as the most vicious clever villain the street ever witnessed. He was able to hold the audience for a year.
No smart phones, then as distractions and people were less brainless like the Instagram dwellers
imo the greatest Storyline and lets be Honest Richard Hillman is and always will be the Greatest Villain in UK Soap

I’m not even a Corrie fan, but this is definitely the best storyline in British soap history. And Richard Hilman the greatest villain
I agree, pat and richard were the best villains. no villian in corrie has ever matched up to them. I just hope they create better ones in the future. meena from emmerdale, she was spectacular. and yes let’s see more women villains lol it would be a nice change.

I don't think any other actor than Brian Capron could have done the Richard Hillman role justice. Absolute genius casting!

This is when it was great viewing. Amazing writers, down to earth words, the characters were loveable compared to todays cast. Very far fetched characters in 2023. No one sits down in todays corrie with sincere and honest lines. The humour isnt funny today it is just daft. I lOVE THE OLD CORRIE. Thank you for sharing. After Pat Phelan storyline i gave up. Its a pity coz ive watched it since the seventies. ❤

I was 9/10 years old when this story was aired and always remembered fondly with watching Richard's storyline my mam,dad and granny and couldn't miss an episode during this era, makes me sad at the same times my dad and granny arent here anymore 😣
I think what's interesting about watching this storyline from the beginning is you see that Richard was a decent guy he was well-liked by everyone, including Nick off-screen. It makes me wonder if Doug Douggy Ferguson hadn't tried to screw him over we wouldn't have had this storyline and Richard probably could have had that happy life he wanted with Gail
But that's probably me being optimistic, he probably has a dr Jeykell of Dr Jeykell and mr hyde where there was a hint in the original story that Jeykell always had this darker side to him and it took him creating a literal alter ego in Hyde to make it known how evil he was.

Up until he killed his ex wife, he wasn't that bad.
It was that action that started him on a downward spiral.
he only got bad for me when he was no longer in the show

This actor was in coronation street before, playing a social worker, he helped Rita and her husband become forster
parents. Back then Gail was married to Brian.

Ive just had a thought, Alma left a large sum of money to audrey and he claims hes her cousin, because she died without kids or a husband I do wonder if his plan in the first entire place was to get access to that money before all the flat troubles - disnt he try it on with audrey before gail?

4:47:47 It’s strange that this Ford Galaxy was newer than the one Richard bough that he drove into the canal. This was a 1999 model which unluckily didn’t get canal/chase action, Richard sold this Ford Galaxy in August 2002 claiming it was stolen and went around in a Audi for a few months until February 2003 when he re-bought another Ford Galaxy. The Famous Ford Galaxy that was a 1996 model so it was older than the red one, I wish Richard used this Ford Galaxy to drive into the canal rather than the Silver Ford Galaxy that met its end a few weeks after it first drove onto the street.

Gail’s constant petting and mollycoddling of Richard really gets on my nerves, she’s so patronising and talks to him like a infant.

There are some similarities but Stephen wasn't as far gone as Richard. Also Richard was on the psychopathic scale and Stephen wasn't.
