forreal, that landlord doesn't understand that this is somebody's life being put on hold because you just wanted to forget about the situation. Moving, especially for a teenager is a massive undertaking, since Antonio was moving from out of state it's not easy to be put on stand-by like that, moving cross-country requires a lot of planning.
It makes my blood boil because I've been in that situation (moving from Ohio to Florida) where you really need to have all your ducks in a row before you can move.

I don't wanna worry you, but, like others have said, it's a major red flag that your landlord ghosted you for two weeks. Landlords tend to try and put their best foot forward during the application process, so for your landlord to act like that then is really concerning. And that's not even taking into consideration the fact that they made a really weird assumption about you. Like, where did that come from?
What happens if you need maintenance done on your apartment - is your landlord just gonna ghost you again? What happens if you need them in an emergency - are they just going to ignore your calls?
I'm really happy for you and excited to see you thrive. But please, be careful around this person.
not in california 🤣😭😭 im a san diego native and let me tell you finding a townhome or apartment sometimes takes longer than you would think! I’ve dealt with ghosting, and also the no answering, it super sucks!!

Well... only 80k Californians moved to Texas which is like 1/10 of 1% of the entire population of California (37k+ Texans moved to California). So, being the largest state by population, it’s not much.
BUT, if you take into account that apparently 800k+ people moved out of California in general with only 600k+ moving in, there’s definitely a large increase of people who are moving out. (This is all in 2019 by the way)
This is mostly due to the extreme cost of housing in the state.

Went apartment shopping and fell in love with a few places. Then when it came time to apply for each apartment (at $50 per application) the management company gave me a "blanket denial", meaning I will be denied for everything. In other words they said 'don't bothers us we will never rent to you"

I would LOVE apartment #2! I adore "cave living". I LOVE my blackout curtains! I do like occasional sunlight but not for very long. I have anxiety and agoraphobia so I don't leave my apartment much unless I have to go grocery shopping or to the doctors ( i have a lot of health issues unfortunately!) All of these are really cute though! So excited for you girl!
