JAYHAWKS formed in January 1985 out of the ashes of German punk / post-punk bands SHADOCKS and MIMMIS. Friends Benno (guitar), Mathe (bass), Udo (vocals) and Monika (drums) were the permanent members. Tom Lipinski then Hardy Pelka then Udo Kuhlmann joined them temporarily as lead guitarists. They played dark post-punk / goth rock and managed to gain attention in the Bremen scene from their very beginning. They put out two 12" EPs in 1987 (THE JOY OF LOVE) and 1988 (THE TRUTH), the second one became a cult classic in Spain. MY MIRROR was the first song they ever recorded, presented here in its raw, previously unreleased first rendition. Stay tuned for more!
