- Two wild rabbits, Moira and Honker, are so fond of each other and so lost in their mating dance that they don't mind me standing and watching from a meter away! The male bunny, Honker, continues to honk nonstop during the courtship ritual, which is probably his unique charm that captivates his mate, Moira.

This is the best, closest, most detailed and well described Eastern Cottontail courtship documentary ever! It is also very sweet to see a couple so much into each other and to see the effort and determination that Honker put into courting Moira! I am glad his cute honks paid off! Even their beak at the end of the video is cute, when he eats the grass blade while she preens!✨🐰❤🐰✨🌹💋😘🥰💯
Moira is the queen of cavorting, and this couple (Moira & Honker) consistently performs the best courtship dance together! It's great to see that Moira enjoys the honks, unlike Madame Bunny, who truly dislikes them. LOL! The break at the end seemed to be mutually understood as well. They have good chemistry.

@@WildTexasBunnies You might... There are at least two species of hares aka jackrabbits in Texas. The black tailed and the antelope ones, I think. They like mowed fields like around airports, golf courses, parks, etc. A friend of mine just photographed a black tailed one near San Jose CA. I hop that cottontails and hares come to you soon!😉🐇✨❤
@@dubistverrueckt Oh yes, I've seen a video on black-tailed jackrabbits in Texas! We are currently living in NC and I think we have mostly cottontails and mayyybe snowshoe hares in this state.
@@WildTexasBunnies NC?! Wow... then you have the Appalachian Mountains that possibly have those übercute Snowshoe hares AND Appalachian Cottontails! The eastern marshes have the Marsh Rabbit, too! So you have one _Lepus_ and THREE _Sylvilagus_ species, including the sweetly familiar Eastern Cottontails. Nice! I _hop_ that you see them all.
