In this screwball comedy, an actor and his wife plan to neck in a darkened cinema, but he gets the wrong seat and mistakenly kisses another lovely girl instead! Also known as Matinee Scandal.
PizzaFlix, you are to be commended, finding and bringing these really neat fun-filled movies (with Ida Lupino) to your fans. Thank you indeed.
Thank-you, and thanks for watching!

Lupino in the Sea Wolf with E.G. Robinson is a gem you should show also.
I love Ida Lupina. I don't remember the name of the movie but she did a women's prison movie. And she was real rough in it. Does anyone remember it? I think the actress, her first name is Constance. She was in it too. She was a great actress. Later in life she played on the soap opera Another World. Does Constance Ford spins right
Beautiful film
I love how the actors and actresses back then had their own individual looks, unlike today where they all look like clones because of Botox and plastic surgery.
The women and clothing looked beautiful, as well.
yep, delightful, and finally I have seen Ida Lupino
A big thank you to you, yet again.
A charming comedic movie...
Love Ida Lupino, she was before her time.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This movie is awesome.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, very amusing. Ida has a beauty that modern actresses don't have
I have a crush on Francis Lederer since "Pandora's Box", with Louise Brooks. That's the first time I'm seeing him in a talkie, and I couldn't be more surprised! Such a fine actor he was! And playing opposite my diva Ida Lupino, how charming is that? ❤ A delicious comedy. Thank you, PizzaFlix!
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX! May the Sauce be with you.
What a beautiful woman is Ida Lupino. Her beauty is timeless!
Francis Lederer was such a gem! What acting talent he had! Saw an interview of him and his later years, what a gentleman!
Loved it. The courtroom scene was a hoot! Ida was a charmer. Thanks once again.
what an absolute delight. I never heard of this one before. It has a marvelous cast and is very funny. There are a half-dozen of my favorite comedy character actors. I always loved Erick Rhodes from the ROgers-Astaire films. Roland Young and Hugh Herbert are as marvelous as ever. Billy Gilbert has a a small scene but he's great. I like seeing a young Ida Lupino in a comedy. I am not familiar with the lead male but he's good too. Thank you so much. I didn't expect such a neglected film to be so good. I wish there was a better print.
+rossharmonics Thanks for helping me figure out Eric Rhodes name. He's amazing. These players had a great deal of fire and fun in them. The studios were bursting with talent. No wonder the Coen brothers made Intolerable Cruelty and Hail Caesar.

Thank you, PizzaFlix. This movie is a clever and enjoyable gem! Lupino is lovely. This is is the first time I've seen a younger Francis Lederer (leading man) on film. I understand his appeal and well-deserved reputation.
While Lederer's filmography is legion, YT viewers may want to see an older FL in "The Madonna's Secret." He is also remembered for his interpretation of the title role in "The Return of Dracula" in 1958. It was a challenging role because of Bella Lugosi's earlier signature and defining performance as Dracula.
Further, I saw a Skip E. Lowe interview of FL videoed in 1993 when FL was ninety(!)-three. FL stated that he was tricked into agreeing to do the RoD film by the promise that it would be a spoof, that at the time he agreed to do the movie, no script was offered (so he could not check for himself), and that he has always regretted it.
The video shows FL trying to hear Lowe who talks too rapidly and too softly, asking inane and irrelevant questions. FL's mind was in good shape. He talked about his desire for world Peace. He was a remarkable and long-lived man, active until only one week before his passing away. RIP, FL. You are well-remembered and revered.
Thank you again, Pizza Flix.
I didn't know she started pre-war in films. She was one of the most creative women in Hollywood. She looks so different.
Our FAVORITE actress, way ahead of her time and her talent under appreciated. Thanks for watching! May the Sauce be with you.
She acted, directed, and produced! Her talents were seemingly limitless. And her beauty timeless. 😏
Watch her in They Drive by Night (1940), a pre-war film. Ida was the second female lead and she sure made the most of it.
@@marganamaurer I forgot her family were actors and she started pretty young. Thanks for the rec
Well I guess I'll have to wait on this one as my gson is very busy today at 13 months. Maybe tonight after bt. Peace.
Mary Pickford and Jesse Lasky first production together....when shooting started, it was raining....when the production ended it rained, and when it premiered in NYC May 20, 1936.....it rained.
This movie was thoroughly enjoyable! What makes it so good Is the supporting cast. Hugh Herbert, Erik Rhodes, Donald Meek, Roland Young and Ronald Cawthorn are superb! Also Eily Malyor who was the president of the justice league. They really made the movie. And the Countess deMaigret was amazingly beautiful! I don't think I had ever seen her before, or heard of her! Thank you for all these great old films.
The comic acting was delightful!
Lol that lady with glasses wishes he kissed her .😘😘😘😘😘😘😣😣😣
The shrill lady with the glasses was probably meant to depict a member of the Women´s Christian Temperance Union, or a related group that lobbied extensively for prohibition, which nobody wanted. Those women were concerned about the lives lost due to alcoholism but they were used by others who had financial and political reasons for wanting prohibition. So the official narrative was that they were unpleasant prudes. And Hollywood then as now was there to deliver the message the public was supposed to hear and see - all fictionalized, of course.
charming may your day be full of blessing
Thank you for the upload-- very entertaining
This is a really delightful comedy. All the acting is so good and Frnancis Lederer hss a heap of witty lines. Thank you for showing us this great film.
Only if there's righteousness somewhere there then only then should the show have gone on. Not in Asio India. From European Dr Virna Pandey Misra
Thanks for this lovely 🎥! Very enjoyable
Am I the only one who cried at the ending? Francis Lederer is a lost treasure somewhere in heaven....

Ida Lupino is the First Lady of PizzaFLIX
Emeric Pressburger wrote the original screenplay for this while he was in France. He had not met Michael Powell, the director, yet. Very good screenplay. Enjoyed very, very much.....
I am going to fry some chicken
Francis Lederer played a nasty in The man I married and Diary of a chambermaid and has played Dracula.
Slap Slap hit my back. Are the other kind. Not Mam o 🔥 selle
Absurdly silly and quite watchable!
Beautiful, humorous with good actors and no violence, like most of the movies nowadays...

What a Wonderful movie !
delightful thanks PF
Great great great actors and movie
Francis Lederer lasted another 65 years, becoming a real estate millionaire along the way. He was still active up to the week before his death in 2000.
Mischa Auer was the first to die in And then there were none.1945
So fun!and well done! Ms.Right🌷
Phillip, for a French National, surprisingly has an Hungarian accent. He was also in "A Million Dollar Weekend".
Fabulous footage,
The idea of the an actor with his "personal prompter" is inherently hilarious. The scene where Roland Young comes to "un-fire" them and starts cooking them dinner is worthy of the Marx Brothers.
This has sound
@7:09 a proto-Karen…
Perfection
So cute funny movie.
Thank you very much for uploading this
Yes I know, but it is still a silly title for a very entertaining film./ Thanks

Fabuloso
c'ètait une femme très séduisante
La Première Dame de PIZZAFLIX
I think Erik Rhodes was at his funniest in this.
