Brought back a lot of memories there mate 👍
How everything has changed since then but it sure has brought good memories back, thank you for putting this up.
We shopped at the strand for decades. Majority of shopping online, I miss retail therapy as I knew it. Thank you for the memories.
brings back memories of old strand road before the strand was built.
The Strand has gone right down since they took M&S away but lovely to see old pictures of the Strand
Very familiar. My first wife was from about 1km away
I used to come over to hairlucinations with my aunty who was going out with john butcher and hang out at his flat which was above the strand, this was in 1974, I remember John cut my hair
Forgotten how much of it was open to the weather. Fond memories of being dragged around by my mum
Some parts of the strand didn't even have a roof, like where Pound Bakery is inside above the toilets there is a roof now but 1970's or 1990s no roof
I believe the boy in the wheelchair was my brother and was the little girl behind my mum. Going to check with family today. So strange seeing this x
Remember it in '68/69.
Did somebody say concrete?
Instead I was transported to a Munich gay bar
