Ukraine has stopped the Russian advance for a year, and we are seeing small gains and losses by both sides. The battle lines aren’t moving though, which means the defenders are doing their jobs.
Russia is losing until they can advance their invasion. Right now Russia is hanging onto the land they’ve taken, but unless they deploy more destructive weaponry, they’re going to continue to experience extreme difficulty when attempting to take more land.
Gaming this out, if trends hold, Ukraine will control Donbas once again within the next 5 or so years. There’s a chance they take Crimea, but I think a negotiated settlement will keep Crimea under Russian occupation for now.
The truth is, if any Ukrainian territory is controlled by Russia in a negotiated settlement, Ukraine will militarize for a decade and then take it back. Russia will face strong military resistance from Ukraine for decades to come, at least until Ukraine has secured its sovereignty, including Crimea.
Big mistake for Putin. He’d have retained Crimea if he hadn’t invaded. Now Russia will lose Crimea, whether it takes a decade or 5 decades.

At one point he says, why don't you come down here to the front line and give your assessment based on your years of operating on the front lines of combat. Even before the invasion, Shoigu was mocked as a ' Moscow General' because he never fought on the front lines and rarely even visited them. At three different points, Prigozian makes reference to Shoigu ' extensive front line experience'. This rings true for all of the military bloggers in Russia, who are now going to talk about Shoigu losing the war because he has no front line experience.

I've been trying to figure out what Prigozian is up to with these posts. If they weren't done with Putin's consent the bald jackass would have had a fatal accident by now. It delivered Storm Shadow weeks ago, and has already solved the issue with retrofitting them for MIG use.
Mark those weapons are not going have that much impact on the battlefield right now. The main thrust will be a charge of tanks and armored personal carriers and that hasn't really started yet.
