Just come across this video...that is my grandmother singing!!! Made me cry...she has passed away...but forever she is in my heart..what a beautiful voice and person as well!! I love you granny...may you rest in peace!!!!!
Carol is my mother. I can remember mama sewing that purple and silver dress she has on in the video. Mama liked to make her own stage clothes. She was a remarkable woman! I love and miss her but....I know where she is and I'll find her again one day! 🎶🎶🎶
From Florida, yesterday I drove through southwest Virginia. I always stop at Fancy Gap. It's 3 hours from Charleston. There, is a sign that reads, CANA. That's where James King is from and buried. I don't know if there's a more concentrated area in the U.S. where the purest bluegrass/folk/mountain music ever came from.
I love this old song. I sang it a thousand times back in the 60s. Porter did this song when he came and did a show at our school in Hardy, Arkansas back in the 60s. This is a great version and great harmony.
@@bonniejohnson1518 I remember Norma Jean on Porter's show a way back. I saw her in Branson several years ago....still sang well. She was true country, in my book.... not a crossover to whatever sells type like today
