More great content as always guys, the wooden slats were used to take a lime plaster as a finish to the interior walls. The hooks id guess were for hanging deer
Brilliant as always!! That abandoned castle was eerie 👻!! I don’t know if Dan plays Xbox etc but it reminded me of a game I play, ‘Skyrim’, you get to walk through loads of old castles and fortresses, I sometimes spend ages just exploring without actually playing the game!! Really been loving your vlogs since discovering you after my search and passion for motorhomes began this January, loving catching up with all you previous vlogs, Ireland 🇮🇪 etc!!! Fantastic work, keep it up and stay safe you too. Love Carl & Jackie xxx
LOVE these type of video's! I like learning about the different towns and castles, and Dan's history lesson's I really enjoy! The Castle/House still looked like it had good "Bones" if I had the money I would finish gutting it then add the floors. I was so happy that you took us for a look in the inside. I have the same adventurous spirit as Mazzy has! Love to poke around old homes/castles. Dan, the word your looking for is called, "Urban-Explorers" or "Urbex". Looking forwards to more of your adventures, and so sorry about the drawer coming out, nothing like that to put a damper on a great day, when you get it righted, screw a clamp onto the drawer so it won't keep on sliding out, Dan's a great handyman, he can do it! Have safe & happy travels!
Hi Mazzy and Dan, great video, I loved the walk around the castle/ house also the little town you went to.. I am sorry about the drawer, that would have been a mess, I hope nothing was damaged .. See you soon.. Love Vicki 💙❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hi guys, glad you are appreciating Dumfries and Galloway. We have just recently moved to Dalbeattie and we love it! Best wishes Sue, Brian and The Westies👍🐶🐾🐾😀
That place is fantastic! Scary and dangerous! Glad you were careful! I vote yes for a spooky night time visit with proper flashlights (torches)! Love you guys!🙂😘 shared and liked!🤗👍
If you want spectacular views drive from Stranraer to Girvan along the coastal road. You'll get the most amazing view of Ailsa Craig just before you drop down into Ballantrae. You can park up on the foreshore at Ballantrae, just by the fishing hut near the stone jetty. Keep your eyes peeled when driving from Ballantrae to Girvan, if you're lucky you'll see seals basking on the rocks. You can also park up on the car park in Girvan, right by the beach...designated bays for campers.
at 29:10 Mazzy's hair looks like she has devil horns 😁 The inside of Kenmure Castle reminded me of the derelict interior of Slains Castle up near Aberdeen. Nice to see the weather isn't too bad, can be very hit n miss in this area. It was nice the way you both split up and took footage from different personal vantage points and combined it together 😃 I've been through Dalbeattie but I don't think I stopped, looks nice and peaceful. Another great Vlog, thank you 👽👍
Looks like a lovely place to live pretty quiet and relaxing place to retire away from all the noise that you get in big towns. The old ruin must have been a great place in it's day with all those floors and rooms. Enjoyed the Mazzy style explore a good piece of editing with the both doing your own thing and bringing it together as one nice job.
Head to Kippford and park at far end walk a long path/road and see weird stuff placed along each side of road then head to Creetown and holy cairn single track road tho ,galloway forest Park , waterfall, wild goats ,big Dam ,dear range , also if you go coastal head for ballantrae, turnbery beach ,Madiens, Culzean Castle, croy electric brae,Dunure Castle, Ayr and head up coast to Largs, Greenock ,Dumbarton (Castle), loch lomond, rest and be thankfully glen coe .
Last one I promise... there are a few places in Scotland that do forest winter events which u attend in the evening. There are lights correographed with music they are magical and spectacular! Really give u the Christmas feeling xxx
A lovely part of Scotland. I used to live in Dumfries and Galloway and had family who stayed near Kenmure Castle. I have been to the castle more than once. The wooden slats on the wall would be sarking which would have been covered with the equivalent of today’s plaster .It’s difficult to get a signal around this area due to the hills. Robert Burns once stayed there while he was in the area. The castle is said to be haunted by a headless horseman. Thanks for the explore guys.
Strange looking castle, it’s half castle and half pre-fab. Mazzy don’t touch any hooks hanging they are cursed, they were used to dry out the bodies of dead people. Another great video.
You know Mazzy I must say I was impressed with your hairdo! The little horns on your temples were very cute, and seemed to reflect your mood….perhaps?? 😂😂 how did you get your hair to do that??? 😃😃 the Scottish weather perhaps? Your adorable!! ❤️❤️❤️
I hope you dont mind me adding these Dan and Mazzy as im from Dumfries and Galloway and the history of the area is fascinating. Really enjoy these videos they are great.
Hi Dan and mazzy just catching up on your videos if your still looking for baskets you should be able to get them from a mobility scooter shop have a great time I just came back from largs in Scotland had a great time xxx
Starting to watch yous enjoyed ur trip to Northern Ireland u went through clough where I was born Downpatrick where I went to tech also struell Wells I live in portadown now I love your travels if ever in portadown call xxxx
Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Monastery. Not far from New Galloway Driving along and I see a scene from the King and I plonked in the Scots lowlands
So it actually is private property. However no trespassing laws in Scotland. Wish it was publicly owned so it could be made safe and able to visit properly inside etc. It was operating as a hotel until the 60s and houses refugees during/after the war. They removed the roof I presume to stop paying tax on it and it was then turned into a ruin. Such a shame! There’s some excellent photos you’ll find on Google/Facebook of it in full use only 60 years ago!

It makes me happy seeing my wee painting in the background every now and then.
I love seeing it too! You're a great artist!🙂
Castle tour was terrific. Beautiful place! ❤️
