Nice to see you with this comment, and just realised you were on my old channel which for some reason was taken down so I've merged our band channel with some nostalgia.
Wish we had more music like this in today’s society!! This is a very special moment for both McKinley and Desmond and I am very happy that you uploaded a beautiful piece of history. This can never be written again! Thank you!!
Yes, a very good drummer, I was in touch with him until he passed away a very nice and interesting person who also give all the names of who played on Glenn Miller Time. Thanks for your interest.
@@CCJazzmen Yes, I knew him because of an coincidence! I'm located in Switzerland and I was looking for a Remo Jazzkit. The same as Jeff Hamilton used to play. Hard to find in Europe, I ended up on Craiglist Charlotte and saw the ad that Jim had placed! And that was it! I wrote to him and finally, two weeks later, I received the kit in the mail, perfectly packaged. At all times he was very concerned whether the drums would be well received. Opening the two packages was a treat as Jim wrote step by step what to find next in the package. He still gave me a bunch of sticks and self-burned CD's with jazz music. We wrote a few more emails later. And he told me more than once how nice it was to know me and how much he would like to come once to Switzerland. But unfortunately this was no longer possible. I didn't hear from him for a few years and later found out about his death. He must have been a very good person. Without ever having seen him, it was a great honor for me to have met this man!
What a great musical drummer. One of the best. R.I.P. Ray!
The older generations really knew how to swing. It is a lost art.
Very true.
Met up with Ray in 1992 in a Denny's restaurant in Largo Florida. Had an interesting conversation and he paid for our meal!
Thanks for the interesting comment, and I bet that conversation was fasinating. Ray was a fine drummer and entertainer.

I totally agree..thanks for your comment.
Cute! Wish I'd been around then to catch that show. Mac is one of my favorite drummers.
Man, Ray McKinley! Such a masterful swinger, singer, SHOWMAN!!
In the background you can see Mr. Jim Lackey, the great drummer from Charlotte (N.C.)
