I'm not a great artist by any means, but i get so frustrated when i mess something up, or when things take too long. I look at great artists' works and think, what use is it when i'll never be good enough?
I stumbled on your instagram page and found myself here, watching the entire video without skipping. I am absolutely floored by how you just kept reworking everything until you were happy with it. It reminded me of how much work really goes into a finished piece and made me feel a little less miserable. I really needed this today.

    Dragon is so sick!
    Thanks for the tricks!
Is the dosa application necesarry? or do you ever use a washi that already has it applied?
I couldn't find the washi or sumi you suggested, do you grind the sumi also?
I just dropped a grand on suihi, brushes, and some other washi's I found on prior trips to Japan, any tips are much appreciated.
Hope we see some new paintings for 2024.
    Big fan of your work.
    Peace, Teddy

Dosa is the liquid which made from mineral and animal glue. It makes the rice paper hold pigment in places. Sort of like Japanese version of gesso 🙏

I used go China town in San Francisco when I lived there and there was a book store with art supplies where they made some stamps too. If you have a China town near by, you maybe able to find something like that? I also make my own stamps sometime. 🙏🙏🙏 TGIF made you for watching 🙏🙏
