As always, I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by the channel and tune in to today's episode. It is truly appreciated.
A very nice project! I like the wood contrast. I too use Titebond III. A great glue. I haven't used a plane in decades, but I remember it being a lot of work. Enjoy! take care!
Every time I do hand plane work I am amazed at how much work it is. Thanks for tuning in Michael.
!00% agree with if it doesn't feel right then don't do it ... another one, don't work on something if you are not in the mood, you won't enjoy it, you won't make as good a job and you'll probably make a mistake.
Another excellent project and video, although quite heavy on the machinery ... but that's life, some people will have the machinery others won't ... still a fantastic project to do, whatever tools you use 👍
I agree with you Barry. Woodworking is dangerous enough and if you aren't fully in the mood and fully confident in your procedures, it is a disaster waiting to happen. Thanks for tuning in this week.
Looks great. I'll make one in a few days but it will be in metric units. That's going to make more sense to me...
Whether you use metric or imperial isn't the important part. The important part is that you make one. Thanks for tuning in and good luck on your project.
Reminds me of the boogie board I made at Ottawa City Woodshop. Lots of hand planing to get the tapered edge- plenty of sweat too!
This would be one tiny boogie board. LOL. Thanks for tuning in Stephen.
Kenny, P-I-Z-Z-A!!! Love that stuff. What a great project. Came out great. I agree with your decision to use hand planes and keep all your digits.
Thanks for the kind words Paul. I appreciate you tuning in to the show this week.
Great idea, you'll have to make a pizza oven next.
Let's not get carried away now Mark. LOL. Thanks for tuning in
Hi Kenny, very nice pizza peel, turned out well. Thanks for sharing.
Glad that you like it. Thanks for tuning in this week.
Was that the Veritas 4, 4 1/4, or 6? I think those and their 3 have the triangle shaped cap. I cannot remember if I used TiteBond 2 or 3 on my last cutting board. Pretty sure I used 3… yeah. Well if it comes apart I’ll know the most likely reason.
Love the wood combo and showing how you layed out shape lines. Really great look. As always you made it look easy. Three boards and some simple steps and you got a pizza peel. Two days for you is a month of weekends for me but I’m getting there.
Ahh cutting board coating. Mineral oil and wax.
That was the #6 fore plane and yes, by Veritas. Just a great plane. Glad to hear that you liked the show this week. I hope you will give this one a try. Thanks for tuning in
good one very nice project!
Glad that you liked it Jim. Thanks for tuning in.
I can already see that this one is going to be a cheesy project worth making! 😀🛫
I have always said listen to your own intuition when doing something that you are not comfortable with, many times that can keep you out of trouble. I am off to warm up last night’s pizza for lunch.
LOL. Don't quit your day job and try out for comedy. LOL. Thanks for tuning in. Enjoy your left over pizza.
I'm curious why you put a bevel on both sides of the peel. Doesn't it make it difficult to slide the peel under the pizza when it's on the pizza stone?
Will we be getting a Tuesday video where you teach us how to make pizza? I'm really looking forward to learning how to spin the dough in the air!
The bevel is on both sides to make the peel usable from either side. There is no need for a sharp angle on one surface and having a bevel on both sides means that whatever way you grab the peel to use it, it is always right. As for tossing the dough......that's not happening. LOL. Thanks for tuning in Jim.
Great build Kenny, now where's my Pizza 🍕🍕
Take Care and Stay Safe 👍
Sorry Barry. The pizza peel is my department.....the pizza comes from someone else. Thanks for tuning in.
Are you going to follow in the footsteps of Alton Brown, and name your Peel Emma?
Probably not. LOL. Thanks for tuning in
