My favorite area control game is an older game, El Grande. They did come out with a new edition, and if you get a chance I recommend it. Of the ones on your list my favorite is Ethnos. I like that it plays fast at the higher player counts with lots of replayability with all the different tribes.
I need to play el grande again. I didn’t enjoy the game my first run through of it. But I may have played it wrong. People get super upset that I don’t like the game
Nice list. I'm not that big of a majority area control guy tbh, but I do like some like Voidfall or when I played Andromeda's edge online. Surprised not to see Ceasar! in your list!
@@925Gamers Eric Lang designed Chaos years ago. Then he made the trilogy Blood Rage, Rising Sun and Ankh. You'll find elements from Chaos in the trilogy.
@@925Gamers it really adds a level of strategy because it makes players choose to leave out one of the 4 color pyramids which allows other players to build off your weaknesses
@@jordanlloyd9517 yes this is amazing! This is why I love my comment section and viewers! Always putting me on to some heat! Any other games? I am going to buy tyrant of the under dark soon
@@925Gamers you said Root and Wonderlands War which are two of my favorite games! Dwellings of Eldervale is also solid! But I definitely recommend Tyrants of the Underdark, it’s a mixture of deck building and area majority and it’s just one of those games I always want to get back to the table!
Area control is usually best at 3-4 players to give that nice completive edge, so most of the games on my list aren't really great at two, although I think Kemet does it pretty well. But usually it's just my wife and I playing so I need games for only two players! Lucky for you I got you covered! So check out these great two player area control/majority games: Great plains, Caesar seize Rome in 20 minutes, Blitzkrieg, air land and sea, general orders, hanamikoji, War of the ring, Star Wars rebellion, kingdom builder, memoir 44! Most of these are war games, because the theme usually fits a two person battle for territory control!
@@925GamersThere's also Spheres of Influence, which is an amazing tight Risk-like with population for troop generation, oil for more turns per round, and special locations for tactics cards. There's also Photosynthesis or Aspens on KS now that are area control with a nature theme.
Rising Sun & Wonderland's War are my top 2
"878: Vikings" and "1775: Rebellion" are 2 great historical area-control games as well.
well now i wanna play kemet!

Nice list. Great games there. I second previous suggestions - Cthulhu Wars, favourite of mine. Looking forward to Cyclades Legendary Edition as well
Oh. And El Grande of course 😊

It’s so good but I have played a lot of area control games since my last list. It was such a hard cut for me! But it made the short list
Chaos in the Old World, the father of Bloodrage and Ankh.
Father you say? 🤔😍

Kemet is hands down my favorite! Have you played with the black pyramids?
No I have not! I only own the base game

Everyone is sleeping on Cyberpunk Gangs of Night City. All in is better than the cmon games listed here.
Alicematic Heroes. Look past the theme if it doesn't initially interest you, its a great game.
That's always a possibility for me. I love even fall but I don't like the witch theme. But its a great game
@@925Gamers The witch theme can be challenging to get past... but underneath that, hides a really fun and deep game. :)

No Cthulhu Wars???

Smallworld designer edition
War of the ring + twilight imperium
