    I'm so glad you liked it & clearly appreciated how masterful it is! 😊 (It's my favorite!) Also, I have full confidence that we will get a third book eventually. After listening to Rothfuss talk about it over & over again, I can't imagine not getting it. I think people who say we're never getting the third book are really saying that it will take too long & they're too impatient. I highly recommend reading the second book & joining in on theorizing what Rothfuss will do next! It's so fun & there are so many thoughtful theories out there!

      LOVED IT. It really is masterfully written! I was just telling someone that this will have to be an annual comfort read for me-I've found a lot of meaning in it with where I'm at right now.
      I hope you're right about book 3-I'd love for nothing more than one last installment, and I can be patient about it, too. hahaha He can take however long he needs! Can't wait to get swept up in the next book!

      Ha! Well the cool thing is, we can both read the same book, have completely different experiences, and still remain on cordial speaking terms afterward! But I did really love this one-just might be my favorite read of the year so far. 🤍

    I always felt really bad that I read from my portuguese translated copy instead of the english version of this, since Rothfuss' writing is one of the best parts of this book. I will probably try to get the english versions when the third book comes out (whenever that will be) so that I can bask in the glory of this beautiful writing. I love this story so it was just great to listen to your video!

      @@SandrasLibrary yea I stand in front of my shelves and debate what to pick up next , but I just keep buying them haha. Discworld I treat like a palate cleanser, it’s quick and fun, especially after or during a heavy read. I do the same with Michael J Sullivan’s books. Thanks for the reply , have a great day

    Hmm I might have to give it a reread. I wasn't a fan of it at the time (though yes, the prose is gorgeous!), but that was many years ago and I was quite new to modern fantasy, so my opinion has probably changed a lot! Great review Sandra :)

    • @SandrasLibrary
      @SandrasLibrary  3 роки тому

      I'm trying to think back to myself 10-15 years ago, and while I know I'd appreciate the prose, I wonder if I had the patience to read such an emotionally grueling, slow burn of a story, which I honestly don't know! But I'm grateful for reading it in my current season of life... it has been... really comforting for me. 🖤

    I read TNOTW about one and a half years ago and I remember loving reading it. i think it was my first fantasy book and i read it in 3-4 days. I hope there is a book3 release date so i can reread the series

      It was such a comforting read for me. I loved the dark academia setting, and then as a hero, Kvothe’s cleverness and tenacity were extremely compelling to me. I literally just finished and want to read it again!

    I loved this book as well, especially how beautifully it was written. Rothfuss can definitely bring out the emotions in a scene.
    I do have a couple of minor issues with the plot, but otherwise a very enjoyable book!
    Nice catch of the commonality with Thom and Elayne mustache pull, those scenes always make me laugh... who pulls another person mustache!? 🤣

      _Beautifully_ written! This was such a delicious, comforting read for me. PR really knows how to tug at my heartstrings. I'm glad you got a kick out of the Thom/Elayne parallel-it was the first thing I thought about. Drinks make us do funny things sometimes haha. Can't wait to read book 2.

      @@SandrasLibrary That's not to bad though. Sometimes you just have to talk about a book and all the things you love which isn't possible without spoilers and I get that :) There's always another video to dip into. It's definitely one of the ones that's on my high priority booktube favourites and when/if I read it I'll be sure to tag you on Twitter when I release the inevitable review I will record because nothing gets read without being reviewed now.
