I'm so glad you liked it & clearly appreciated how masterful it is! 😊 (It's my favorite!) Also, I have full confidence that we will get a third book eventually. After listening to Rothfuss talk about it over & over again, I can't imagine not getting it. I think people who say we're never getting the third book are really saying that it will take too long & they're too impatient. I highly recommend reading the second book & joining in on theorizing what Rothfuss will do next! It's so fun & there are so many thoughtful theories out there!
LOVED IT. It really is masterfully written! I was just telling someone that this will have to be an annual comfort read for me-I've found a lot of meaning in it with where I'm at right now.
I hope you're right about book 3-I'd love for nothing more than one last installment, and I can be patient about it, too. hahaha He can take however long he needs! Can't wait to get swept up in the next book!
You're going to love book 2! ❤
I think so, too! I’ve been in somewhat of an “everything slump” lately, but I hope to get back into it soon 🖤
Oh man. Every time I bring up this book I get in trouble. So I'll just say that I appreciate listening to your views on it.
Ha! Well the cool thing is, we can both read the same book, have completely different experiences, and still remain on cordial speaking terms afterward! But I did really love this one-just might be my favorite read of the year so far. 🤍
@@SandrasLibrary Always!
I always felt really bad that I read from my portuguese translated copy instead of the english version of this, since Rothfuss' writing is one of the best parts of this book. I will probably try to get the english versions when the third book comes out (whenever that will be) so that I can bask in the glory of this beautiful writing. I love this story so it was just great to listen to your video!
Sandra great book review on name of the wind I'm doing a read on this book hopefully soon
Monique, so far, this is my favorite favorite read of the year! I can't wait to start book 2 in the next few weeks. If you read book 1 again before then, maybe we can read book 2 together?
@@SandrasLibrary that would be cool ill add it to my june tbr the name of the wind we can read the second one in July hows that sound?
@@MoniqueChambers Checking my reading cal-I think I'm trying to read book 2: The Wise Man's Fear in June actually!
just stumbled upon your channel, I just finished NOTW a few days ago as well , liked it a lot. Great review! Now I’m on to shadow of the Gods with a spattering of Discworld.. definitely subscribing!
Ahhhhh, thank you so much for your kind words, Cody! Glad you liked NotW and I hope you like SotG, too. So glad you enjoyed my NotWdiscussion….I hope to get into Discworld at some point in the near future-there are just way too many series I need to catch up on at the moment! 😫
@@SandrasLibrary yea I stand in front of my shelves and debate what to pick up next , but I just keep buying them haha. Discworld I treat like a palate cleanser, it’s quick and fun, especially after or during a heavy read. I do the same with Michael J Sullivan’s books. Thanks for the reply , have a great day
@@codydow3288 thanks, Cody! I hope you had a great day too! 🤗
I have ambiguous feelings for the KoS duology too, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it.
it just felt so......unnecessary to me. I _really_ wanted to love it! 😩
Count the amount of words that Kvothe uses to answer Denna.
Yessss! So many times!
If it matches my birthday of 7/7, then I’m in love with Kvothe 😉
Hmm I might have to give it a reread. I wasn't a fan of it at the time (though yes, the prose is gorgeous!), but that was many years ago and I was quite new to modern fantasy, so my opinion has probably changed a lot! Great review Sandra :)
I'm trying to think back to myself 10-15 years ago, and while I know I'd appreciate the prose, I wonder if I had the patience to read such an emotionally grueling, slow burn of a story, which I honestly don't know! But I'm grateful for reading it in my current season of life... it has been... really comforting for me. 🖤
I read TNOTW about one and a half years ago and I remember loving reading it. i think it was my first fantasy book and i read it in 3-4 days. I hope there is a book3 release date so i can reread the series
It was such a comforting read for me. I loved the dark academia setting, and then as a hero, Kvothe’s cleverness and tenacity were extremely compelling to me. I literally just finished and want to read it again!
I loved this book as well, especially how beautifully it was written. Rothfuss can definitely bring out the emotions in a scene.
I do have a couple of minor issues with the plot, but otherwise a very enjoyable book!
Nice catch of the commonality with Thom and Elayne mustache pull, those scenes always make me laugh... who pulls another person mustache!? 🤣
_Beautifully_ written! This was such a delicious, comforting read for me. PR really knows how to tug at my heartstrings. I'm glad you got a kick out of the Thom/Elayne parallel-it was the first thing I thought about. Drinks make us do funny things sometimes haha. Can't wait to read book 2.
Just picked this up from a used book store for $1. After I'm done with The Shadow of the Gods, I'm gonna hit this next.
Nice! You have me beat as I picked up NotW for $4 used. I hope you’re enjoying Shadow of the Gods-I thought that one was a fun read (though NotW remains one of my favorite reads so far this year). Enjoy!!
Book 3 is on the way
HERE FOR IT 🖤
Well with the spoilery nature I'm going to have to duck out of this one but wanted to say hello anyway :) I'm sure I will read this one day and when I do Ill be sure to come back and check out your thoughts.
Mason! Hi-hello! I'm awful about doing spoilery videos lately-sorry about that!! Hopefully, you can read it soon, because it is such a moving yet rewarding story so far. I'm hearing good things about book 2, so that makes me pretty pumped about jumping into the sequel here soon.
@@SandrasLibrary That's not to bad though. Sometimes you just have to talk about a book and all the things you love which isn't possible without spoilers and I get that :) There's always another video to dip into. It's definitely one of the ones that's on my high priority booktube favourites and when/if I read it I'll be sure to tag you on Twitter when I release the inevitable review I will record because nothing gets read without being reviewed now. NOTHING :D.
Hi I was wondering if you would consider reading a Dan Brown book like The Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons
Hi Paul! I’ve actually been wanting to read him. Do you recommend starting with Da Vinci Code? I would be open to it!
