    I was born and raised in Oakland. That engine sound is literally the sound of my childhood.

      Cool. You probably rode this exact bus in service. I have a better clip of this laying around. I guess I'll have to post it soon.

      Agreed. My grandad drove for AC from 1966 to 1987. And he drove old 942. He would be proud to see it rolling again

    I'm almost certain that bus #942, is one of the batch of 900's that sported a GREEN interior.

    I think AC Transit should drive some of these around on Throwback Thursdays.

      +Center Cut Studio AC Transit only owns bus 100 and they barely do anything with it. They did have it for display for the rodeo in fall 2015 though. I was there.

      Hahaha I know, but I thought you took great pictures. Especially those 2 where you can see huge skyscrapers behind the bus. It looks so cool to me...

      VideoTape Oh thanks! Haahahhahahaha! Skyscrapers... those buildings are small compare to really big buildings.

      Ninja Bus Fan Yeah man, I love it! It is actually a pretty fast bus. However, it will die on a hill (as it actually just about died on a hill at the excursion). XDDD Hehe thanks bro. :P

      TheCRTman Sounds like a fast/strong bus :O Really, these guys can't climb hills ? No worries dude :P

    • @TheCRTman

      Ninja Bus Fan Yeah, like in the second recording at pretty much top speed, we murdered the highway and even flew passed the D40. :O Nope, the 6V71N is not a good hill engine.

      @nbf3813 9 років тому +1

      TheCRTman Oh yea, I think you told me that you were passing cars and that D40 :O Wait, then whats the hill climbing engine then ?

    • @TheCRTman
      @TheCRTman  9 років тому +2

      Ninja Bus Fan Duuude we had to be going like 75 mph. XDDDD The good hill engines are like the 8V71 and 6V92TA. S50 isn't too good with hills, but can survive. 6V71 vs. hill... hill wins. :P

    I thought this bus had the VS2-6 transmission, no?

      @TheCRTman  8 років тому +3

      Nope. I did a 2nd recording and the one shift you heard was the only one it did. We were FLYING on the highway too. I can see about uploading it someday or I can send you a sample on facebook.

      Lennox Alexander Francis Jr You could have said that the first time. The 1989 New Flyer D40 has a Allison HTB-748 4-speed auto.
