Anthony hope your doing ok, so you think the surpass is alright I start with the no Annual Honor Then up graded to surpass was Thinking about the aspire but the Annual fee . Had a lot of points in used them in wow let me tell it was a major difference in with point VS without. These Hotel are not cheap for a nice weekend or a 5 Day stay
Likewise my man! Yes I think so, so wait you already upgraded to the Surpass? Also yeah the Aspire is good, just expensive. Ohh yeah man, Hiltons can amazing, you just need a lot of points to book those stays haha. But they are easy to earn when getting their cards as well so that helps. Thanks Ant man, I appreciate you!
I have a question I don’t really book hotel rooms, so can I purchase 4 $50 Hilton Gift cards and then pay the $150 annual fee with the gift cards? Since I don’t really travel, that way I can extract the $200 credits to cover my card annual fee?
I'm in a weird situation where I actually work for a property in the Hilton portfolio, so both the Surpass and Aspire are no-brainers for me. When our hotel's team meal is particularly crap, I'll buy a pre-made meal from our coffee shop or one of our restaurants for the 50% off. Because they're under the hotel's umbrella, not only am I getting 50% off all food and beverage purchases at my hotel, but it also codes as a Hotel purchase on my Surpass. It's basically 50 free dollars for food or coffee every year, which I do 100% use. The Aspire is a little harder, but if I stay at a resort property twice a year (which the team member rates are really generous for if they're available) it credits off over two nights at a resort property, not to mention the mountains of other credits and benefits. We're talking like 80 a night for Waldorfs and Conrads, so three nights at one, twice a year, is almost fully credited back. It's like buy one night get five free every year, minus the taxes. Literally anyone who works for Hilton should get both cards
Wow Lancun that’s wild! I can’t believe those discounts and reimbursements you’re getting woah! Any chance you can hook me up with the family and friends discount? 😂😂😂 But seriously, I’m surprised you have any cards since you’ll just earn enough through the reimbursements haha. Thanks again Lancun for being here!
@@AnthonyVenture F&F sadly isn't anywhere near as powerful as the Team Member rate. F&F is what we book when our 30 annual Team Member rates are used up and it's basically like a 50% off hotel discount. Nowhere near the god-mode that I described. If you want those perks, work part time at a Hilton property. Even someone who works one day a month gets that amazing perk.
@@Anthonyjones-pq4ff It's got a lot of headaches, what 9-5 doesn't, but yeah, the perks are quite something. Team Travel, when combined with the Aspire, is just amazing.
Great strategy! When we stayed at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale last month, we put $50 onto each of our two Surpass cards and the rest onto my Aspire card. Throw in the $200 resort credit and $50/day of food & beverage credit and we only ended up paying $60 of the $460 we billed to the room.
Anthony Venture: "I would like a downgrade at an all-suite hotel please for the lowest price possible?" Also Anthony Venture: "Also do you have suite upgrades available as I'm Hilton Gold status?" This made my day and it's not even 8AM yet 🤣🤣🤣
Many on the Hilton forums agree with this and some with the combo are downgrading their Asprires for a second Surpass. Two FNCs for $30K spend , -$100 annual fee with gift cards and stays. The Surpass is a keeper. Good for supermarkets and dining as well.
I definitely think the Hilton Surpass is super underrated. Especially if you travel internationally, I've actually gotten significant value from just having Hilton Gold Status- plus of course if you go the Gift Card route like you mentioned you can more than pay off the annual fee each year and book a hotel stay with all your accumulated gift cards at the end of the year. Great video Anthony!
Oh absolutely, you’ve showed on your videos your Hilton experiences with Gold and it’s amazing! Agreed, gift cards are a bit of a game changer I think for this card. Thanks Matt!
Hello from Knoxville! Last month, I booked a hotel with points at a Curio, we ate dinner and breakfast there and charged it to the room, and then at check out used 3 $50 gift cards. The lady at the desk told me she's been seeing a lot of gift cards lately. I explained to her why that might be the case, but she seemed cool with it haha.
Wowwwww hahaha, do you think I was able to start the Gift Card Revolution?? I want a plaque if so!! 😂😂😂 Thanks crazy Jared, awesome you got the food with the gift cards.
I got the surpass in January and just did the gift card trick last week and received my gift card today in the mail...I don't travel often so this is how I am gonna get this credit
At least you have it now, never know when you can use it. Can also possibly use it at restaurants owned by Hilton if they’ll allow it, without having to stay there. I still have to test that. Thanks BigSwats!
Cutting right to the Amex 😂 Thanks for being this data point. Great video! I truly think the surpass is the only American Express card you need. Unlimited Hilton usage is clutch
I did that at an embassy suites also. lol. Used a 50 gift card. The guy at the front desk was clueless and called a manager. Either way got 50 dollars off.
Oh wow haha, yes there will be a little time where we all train them across the world to know how to handle gift cards 😂😂😂 But until then, we’ll have to fight a little. Nice it worked out though, thanks JJ!
Nice video Anthony. I have the Aspire card and recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria in Orlando. Great perks with the $200 semi annual credit and 20% off spa services.
@@JuanGarcia-hr1wfOh wow, I could have really used that once… oh wait no that was a Marriott. Nevermind haha. But good to know, didn’t know that Juan! I hope it was relaxing ha.
Using the quarterly $50 credit to purchase gift cards is the next level of genius. I have let this credit go dormant since getting the card in October. I just purchased a $50 card, and can't wait to see that credit ! Thank you for this great idea !
@@traderjames333 Hell yeah James! Chads Money Minutes first tested it maybe 10 months ago and everyone has ran with it since, but I’m so glad you can utilize the credit now and get some good hotel stays going forward! Thanks James for being here!
@@AnthonyVenture Update: I did indeed receive the $50 credit, and the card in the mail. I will purchase another card at the beginning of the quarter, on 9/1. Again, thank you for bringing this strategy to my attention.
I just stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn. They gave me 500 Hilton points just for eating a meal at the hotel restaurant. I was going to eat there that night anyhow, so free points.
I asked for points when they tried to sell me a “grand vacation” but they played hardball!! They only offered me 25k points, so I declined 😂 and yes the sales person sounded a bit ticked off. He was like “I’m going to add you to a list so that you will be ineligible to receive any additional offer for x amount of months, but you’ll see 500 points credited to your acct for your time today”.
Oh wow they really offered much less for you! Oh my god how nasty! What do they expect, OH NO SORRY ILL BUY NOW PLEASE DONT PUT ME ON THE LIST. It’s like, they burdened US with the call, we didn’t call them 😂 That’s funny though, thanks CJ!
Hey You gotta play hard ball rite back bro The same thing happen to me That now I got my free trip to Vegas last year they wanted me to but into time sharing I Reply no but I”ll take the points Go Rose Gold team 🌹🌹🇯🇲🇯🇲
@@AnthonyVenture that great Anthony that why I watch your channel I learn something new all the time you in the General Sledge salute to the General 🫡🫡 Now teach a class how to use points on flying both domestic in international
I'm going to be trying the gift card as a method of payment at a Hampton Inn (likely) in about 2 weeks. I do fear a little that if you get an employee who doesn't know what they're doing, it may not work.
Yes very possible. Good to know it’s written in the gift card terms that they can be used for checkout so can always refer to that. But you’re right, they may just be super not in the know. Let me know how it works if you remember Dugroz!
Thank you so much for that Pinguliniy!! Yes just think it’s a great way to leverage and get even more points year and year for cheap stays etc. Thanks for being here!
Great video! I just talked to an agent last night. I kept declining the timeshare offer and then she offered me the Orlando 4 day trip for $99 plus 35k points. Tempting, but I still declined it because there's no way my wife would sit through a timeshare presentation. Maybe next time I'll ask for even more. 😅
Haha tell her it’s not that bad! You guys will have fun and crack jokes about the presenter 😂 But yes, ask for MORE. Don’t give into their fear mongering too about putting you on lists etc. They just want commission, and you want a better deal, they’ll make it happen. Thanks Joe for being here!
I don’t believe you’ll be able to do that with the Aspire, since it has to be for a resort property. However I wonder if you bought gift cards at a resort property, would it code? 🤔 Also not actually sure ha, I’ve only seen the physical ones, or at least an option for the physical ones so far. Thanks Doc + Triple!
I love my surpass. Free nights are nice, yet the gold status, f&b credit, national rent a car executive, and $200 credit makes this card a keeper if you stay at Hilton’s at least quarterly. If your just looking for sign up bonus and free nights, then get one of the other hotel cards.
Let’s go Tampa! Totally agreed with what you said, sometimes that F&B outweighs some free nights give a long enough time horizon. Thanks Tampa for being here!
Hey man you never know when I’ll strike 😂😂😂 Once I dropped a video at like 3-4am 😂 on some Bilt news. Thanks Finbar and Jazzy haha, made me laugh out loud ha.
keeper card for me for sure. hope to earn a free night cert on this card this year. reminds me I have to get a Hilton gift card for that $50 credit since quarter almost over
Oh yes absolutely! I hope you ordered yesterday, I’d hate for it to post since it’s the weekend, in April, then you’ll forgo the last quarter! But for sure agreed, I like the card way more now! Thanks 412!
I received really great value using my Surpass to book an Embassy Suites birthday stay/dinner using the Double Points option, and used the $50 quarterly credit. The points earned was...I wasn't expecting ... 21X. I drove away from there with more points than I arrived with 😁🥳🎉🎉
Oh very nice! A lot of people don’t mention that double points option, for sure can be powerful! Wow, more than when you arrived, that’s really good. Thanks Fog!! Was it your birthday?
I need AMEX to lift this 5 credit card maximum because I want em all. Yes. I do end positive in all my cards, even the platinum and aspire. Damn Anthony, you got me sold to this card. Who would've known this card can easily get you $200 with a little hard work. PS: my P2 and I will be attending the timeshare meeting this summer. Sadly, I only got 25k points but with + the RCCL I told you about haha. Next time I'll ask for that money back or at least 75k points.
Haha I hear that, or you can be like Sledge, break the rules and get 8 😂 Yes you said, still can’t believe you got that cruise offer haha. OH you just reminded me, during that call she also offered my a cruise, I shot it down before she could tell me the deal though ha. Thanks Victor!
@@AnthonyVenture Better. I was like "I don't have the cash for the down payment." and the lady was like, "Well we have a credit card you can apply for." And I was like, "My credit history is so thin.I only have a Car Loan and getting that was like pulling teeth. I'm going to get turned down." She said, "It don't do a hard pull unless you are approved and you accept." So I was like, "Sure, we have 29 more minutes until I can leave so you don't charge me rack rate for the room." She said, "You're so funny!" Then I got approved and accepted the credit card and cried. And she was like, "So you're gonna sign up now?" And I was like, "NO!" So she got somebody to "get me checked out", but it was actually a final offer. So I said, "No thank you." and the new lady blinked and said, "Didn't you get the credit card?" and I was like, "Yes... and NO." and she was like, "Okay, let's get you checked out."
That gift card strategy is definitely something I'm considering now that the Hilton Business is completely changed with a $60 quarterly credit. Maybe I can get the delivery fee paid for by the credit for $50 gift cards
@@AnthonyVenture Yes it does. Thanks to your video. I bought a $50 gift card with my Hilton business card on March 30th. A few days later I got a credit for $51.95. April 3rd I bought another $50 gift card and got another credit for $51.95. I also saw that i have $8 credit left. I will go to a Hilton to use the $8 eft for this quarter. I have since received both gift cards. Thanks again Anthony I will definitely keep the card.
No unfortunately I’m 99% sure because it will require Resort properties for the Aspire, and the gift cards should not code as such. Unless you can buy them at a resort property In person? 🤔 something to test for sure hmm. Thanks Credit Card MD!
Anthony my point & miles mentor! 😎 It will work if i buy Hilton gifts cards with the $400 resort credit who comes with my amex Hilton Aspire card and i will asking at the Waldorf hotel where i plan to stay to deduct those gifts cards from the checkout bill the day of my checkout as you did with the surpass card? 👏🏼 It’s not possible just to pay part of the hotel bill at the checkout with my amex Aspire and the $200 resort credit refund on my Amex ?
No not me hahaha. No unfortunately, Resort credit can only be used at resort properties so be sure to check if that Waldorf is a resort property, if so, yes you can pay the room rate with your Aspire and it should code for the $200 credit. So yes, at checkout. Also can prepay incidentals if you’re going all out at this hotel and that’ll code for the Resort credit too. But again, make sure it’s a resort property first my checking on here, then you’re good to go! 👉www.hilton.com/en/locations/resorts/ Thanks Mehdi as always and let me know how that stay goes!!
Hard to say since both technically can give you a “free night”, just the Surpass is a little more annoying with the credits. In the flip side, the boundless gets the free night after the first year, which the surpass gets credits right away. Hilton gold alone though for me makes it way more powerful than most Marriott cards as well. So it’s a toss up on which hotel chain you like, but for me, Surpass all the way! Thanks GC for being here!
One of these days I’ll have a Hilton phase and get like all of their cards. Hilton just feels underwhelming to me for some reason but their cards are nice. Also 🐿️
For sure, Hyatt is more of that wow factor, but Hilton can have really good experiences as well, just have to book right like anything ha. Some of my favorites were Hilton, but I agree that Hyatt just does it very very well. Thanks Cody!
Excellent video Anthony! I currently hold the Surpass and am on the fence about downgrading when it renews in July. I have been utilizing the gift card method so far and have a stay in May I am able to use third $50 credit in addition to the two $50 gift cards I hold. I could downgrade my Surpass and hope for an upgrade offer on my Hilton Honors Card in September. I am leaning more towards Marriott properties as I will be product changing to the Ritz in September so the question is do I focus strictly on Marriott or continue to diversify with Hilton & other brands?
Good stuff on utilizing the gift cards! Hmm, so I like to blitz things. So I spent my first 4 years experiencing all Hiltons, but now this past year and next year, it’ll be only Hyatt, then maybe 2 years from now will be only Marriott etc. So I think there’s merit to exhausting all your Hilton points and gift cards, then go full bore into Marriott and get as many points/FNCs as you can go experience it all. That’s just my opinion though. Thanks Matt!!
This will be my one card set up since i pay tax through it. Then i could use it to buy gift card as gift quarterly. Basically zero annual fee and one night certification.
This is the strategy I’ve been using since the beginning of this year. I also hold the Honors card and sock-drawed it after hitting the SUB and I was recently not approved for the Aspire SUB because of this. I’m taking this as a blessing and saving me $550 for tough to use credits. Do you think the $15K spend for a FNA is worth it though?
Nice!! Ok so Yeahh I’ve never felt the $15k was worth it just because I don’t mind getting 5+ cards a year to hit that spend, but if I didn’t want to do that, and only had 1 card to put $15k on, yeah then I’d say it’s worth it to get the FNC, since that’ll be about $700 in value I’d use it for. But still, even then ha. I’d rather just get a ton of other welcome offers. Thanks Matt!!
2 hours in a time share pitch sounds like torture. are you required to pay attention during it or can I put in ear buds and watch a movie on a laptop while in the room? lol
Each place could be more or less strict but ours was pretty relaxed, I could have sat on my phone if I wanted. I actually can’t wait to do it again haha. Thanks 412!
Won’t work for that credit unfortunately Camworld I don’t believe, I think someone theorized once gift cards at a resort Hilton, but nothing confirmed at all. Thanks Cam for being here!
Never a bad time to get both haha! I got both cards very close to one another, so if you don’t care about your 5/24 status etc and just want more Hilton points + FNC, I don’t see why you can’t get the Surpass too! It’s at least what I did anyway haha. Thanks CLNSL8!
Yes sir! That’s what a lot of people are doing. Just type in Buy Hilton Gift Cards . Com. Click on “for consumers” and get a $50 one. Thanks Ryan for being here man!!
Amex Hilton Honors to rack in more Hilton points for travel and Hilton stays. The Amex Platinum already grants Gold status for Hilton and lounge access, the Hilton Honors card will bring in more Hilton points. Hilton Surpass builds quicker for Hilton points and has more status for car rentals and Baggage Insurance and free night after $15K spend per year.
As Shawn said, for earning, unless through the travel portal from Amex, Hilton cards will outearn. For benefits, I think it’s thinking could you give us lounge access and go hotels only with the aspire etc. Or do you want a card to earn more Hilton. Then can make sense. Usually a Platinum + Surpass like Shawn said would pair best in that second scenario! Thanks Jeff and Shawn!
Don’t forget the TVM of prepaying $150 with staggered quarterly capitalizations (not even redemptions). With risk free rate at ~4.5% that’s another ~$6 off the captured value. Still comes out ahead so maybe not so meaningful…
Ohh you guys and your numbers, you know we don’t care about numbers, we’re freaks! Haha, but you both are right, but Gold status mannnn, $100s of dollars!! Thanks Calby and Ant ha!
I already own the Hyatt credit card and the Marriott Bonvoy, so maybe getting another card is too much. However, due to their elevated offers right now, I was debating on getting the Hilton Surpass or the IHG Premier card. Any thoughts and feedback on which one is better or if I should get another card would be appreciated.
Hey Ryan! Yeah so both cards have some powerful offers right now for sure. In my opinion, it comes down to which brand you have the most experience with and for sure know you’ll have an easy + good time at. Me personally, I’d get Surpass first but that’s only because I love Hilton, and know where I’d use the FNC + points. But if you know of some IHGs already and like them more, I’d go IHG. My main thing was always go all in on one brand at a time, makes things simpler for me. So with that said, which do you think is an easier choice in your gut? Thanks Ryan for being here!
@@AnthonyVenture I appreciate your feedback. My gut is telling me to go for the Hilton Surpass. I have more experience with that chain, so I'm gonna go with that. Thanks again...
I got the no annual fee first, then the Surpass. So worth it to climb the ladder I think first. I have since downgraded the Surpass, I think if you have a Platinum, then just the aspire is worth grabbing. Without the Platinum, Surpass is great! Thanks Ant!
When i first stayed at a embassy suites hotel for my job i got scared thinking i got a upgraded room that they wouldn’t pay for not releasing that was their standard room 😂
Basically buying ownership in a brand, usually around $2-$60k, then they give you points to use at their properties for the rest of your life, while also paying their taxes and fees each year etc. Basically a waste for most people unless you really know what you’re doing. But I like them because you can get value by being a fake buyer, watching a presentation to buy their thing, and I get points, then leave ha. Thanks Joe + Gemini!
Yes you can use the Gift cards in Hiltons worldwide, so long as they accept Amex that is, then you’re good! So maybe call prior to make sure they can handle them! Thanks MMT!
Nope! Just book as normal online or over the phone, no cash or points etc. Then when you go to checkout, just pay with the gift cards. Thank you David man!
I just upgraded my Amex Hilton Honors card to the Amex Hilton Surpass, with the axing of my Citi Strata Premier I’m ready for another solid earner to take it’s place Amex will provide more value anyways! ✊
Ohh wow very interesting, surprised you’d value the Surpass over the Strata, I think a lot of people would be upset with you haha. I’m with you though, Surpass can be a beast if used right! Thanks Shawn!
@@AnthonyVentureNot a fan of the cheap card design looks like a toy credit card haha, Premier looked more premium. I have other travel cards so I let it go maybe they will revamp it in time.

Meh tier card. Waiting for the NLL offer to appear again so I can get another surpass and upgrade to 4th Aspire, replacing the Biz HH card. Tax payments is pretty broken. Spending 240k to get 720K HH + 8FNCs beats getting 480k C1 or 360K MR for me but I suppose YMMV
I hold a amex bonvoy brillant and amex hilton surpass and attend timeshare presentations every year and rack up points and free vacations......just gotta say no...to the timeshare. No big deal....and save tond of cash.
100%, people complain but they are an easy way to get some awesome points and cheap stays. Very easy to say no I think, not for everyone though. Thanks Wes!
Non hilton spend isnt anything to be excited about. The only exception is the 15k FNC. Use these in the hotel. X5 or x6 for gas or groceries isnt anything to be excited about. Point value is less than other systems. In a hilton for staying is where to be excited. Hilton honors membership gives you x10. The cards give status. Silver adds 20% gold 80% diamond 100%. For x2,x8 & ×10. Then the cards ad x7,×12 &,14. So the honors actually earns x19 Surpass x30. Diamond x34. With a hilon point value of half a cent thats worth return on spend in a hilton for a honors at 9.5%. Surpass 15%. ASPIRE. 17%. Thats why to have these cards. The non hilton spend can be done with other cards with better returns.
Yes absolutely hear that, those base points + status amplifier is where the real points come in without much work, meanwhile other spend can be beat or just used for a new welcome offer etc. Totally agree. 17% ROS for Aspire is great, even good to consider programs like FHR or others that’ll allow you to also earn base points through stays like I did with the Waldorf and others etc. Good points Bill! And thanks for being here!
What card gives you more for gas and groceries? That's where most of our spending goes towards. What card has better return for similar yearly fee? Thanks
. The hilton point is worth .005 006? So surpass x6 in other card systems is x3 in value. A point isnt equal between systems.. A citi custom cash is x5 thats like a hilton x10. . This example shows non hilton spend isnt the greatest on hilton cards. What makes hilton cards good is hilton spend. The surpass is x30. You get x10 for hilton honors, surpass give gold with 80% bonus for x8 more and the surpass card adds x12 for x30. Thats why its a good card. Its not a good gas or groceries card.
Haha, maybe, but no you can use them for checkout at a Hilton hotel, onsite Hilton-owned Restaurant, stuff in the lobby store etc. Pretty much anything that can be billed to the room too. Thanks BlueKai!
I get the value, but collecting gift cards over the course of the year to save $50 is a bit much for me. Amex is causing overload in this credit / gift card workaround area 😂
Amex out here making us do crazy things!! Yeah it’s a pain, I guess it wouldn’t be the sole really to get it, but worth doing if you already have the card etc. Thanks Ryan man, I’m with you haha.
I still see the Bonvoy card as better 5 free nights as welcome bonus $95 fee with a free night credit worth about $300 Also there are WAY more Marriots than Hilton's
Oh yeah, in this given mid tier range, I’d probably go with the Boundless or even Woh card for that matter, but I think if you can work it, Gold status can possibly earn you more free nights if you can hack it. Can’t wait to get into Marriotts chain honestly. Thanks AB!
Little bit of research goes a long way I’ve found, some sweet spots in certain areas and can get great value, but like anything, just have to look for a bit etc. But I agree it’s hard sometimes, and that’s why I really don’t look at CPP anymore for any currency really, I just see if I can book it and then I do. Thanks Stephan for being here!
@stephenlacher587 So you saying that their points are worthless hilarious, you must have been using it wrong and smart enough to figure out how. 🥲 I had a 5 night stay at Crockfords in Vegas, was upgraded to a $900 a night room with free late check out and early check in… throw in the property credit that stay was well over 5K and cost me about 80$ out of pocket.
So Hyatt points are obviously worth a lot more than Hilton. But its all relative. Other than transfers from Chase Hyatt points are way harder to collect also. Hilton points are just fine with me easy to earn, easy to spend.
Oh damn Gemini, coming out the holster haha. For sure if you have it already, can be powerful. Aspire is great, I want to get it one day. Thanks Gemini!

Thanks crazy Jared, awesome you got the food with the gift cards.
Cutting right to the Amex 😂
Thanks for being this data point. Great video!
I truly think the surpass is the only American Express card you need. Unlimited Hilton usage is clutch

I did that at an embassy suites also. lol. Used a 50 gift card. The guy at the front desk was clueless and called a manager. Either way got 50 dollars off.
Oh wow haha, yes there will be a little time where we all train them across the world to know how to handle gift cards 😂😂😂
But until then, we’ll have to fight a little.
Nice it worked out though, thanks JJ!
Nice video Anthony. I have the Aspire card and recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria in Orlando. Great perks with the $200 semi annual credit and 20% off spa services.
Ohhh very nice! Wait really, 20% spa, were they just doing a promotion or?

If you book a room online and put your surpass down for the room when you arrive can you still pay with gift cards upon check out?
Yes, can always pay at checkout, even for just incidentals in case you pay in points etc.
Thanks Xavier!
That's great Anthony! I want to do something similar with my Aspires. Do i have to get the physical gift card delivered or are there online ones?
I'm wondering the same
I don’t believe you’ll be able to do that with the Aspire, since it has to be for a resort property.
However I wonder if you bought gift cards at a resort property, would it code? 🤔
Also not actually sure ha, I’ve only seen the physical ones, or at least an option for the physical ones so far.

That gift card strategy is definitely something I'm considering now that the Hilton Business is completely changed with a $60 quarterly credit. Maybe I can get the delivery fee paid for by the credit for $50 gift cards

It’s not possible just to pay part of the hotel bill at the checkout with my amex Aspire and the $200 resort credit refund on my Amex ?
No not me hahaha. No unfortunately, Resort credit can only be used at resort properties so be sure to check if that Waldorf is a resort property, if so, yes you can pay the room rate with your Aspire and it should code for the $200 credit.
So yes, at checkout. Also can prepay incidentals if you’re going all out at this hotel and that’ll code for the Resort credit too.

Super helpful. Looking to cover family member’s hotel stay (partial).
Hell yeah Carlin! That’s always a nice thing to do ha. Thanks for being here!
How does this compare to the Marriot Boundary card? Which one would you prefer?
Does the Hilton gift card refillable? or do I buy a new gift card every quarter and will have 4 every year and so on.
“Since we’re such good friends…” - every timeshare salesman ever

This will be my one card set up since i pay tax through it. Then i could use it to buy gift card as gift quarterly. Basically zero annual fee and one night certification.
Makes a lot of sense for you for sure it seems, getting that FNC comes in clutch as a one card setup!
Thanks Blue Kai!

@@AnthonyVenture Thank you bro'! Ive been a long time follower of your channel. I'm assuming quarterly as in Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep and Oct-Dec.
Anytime and thank you for that!
And yes sir, you got it!
Would it make sense at all to pair my amex platinum with any of the Hilton cards?
Thanks for coming over! Had fun 🫶
I dunno mannnn, gotta count that shipping into the value (-$7.80) still ahead though 🤷 so that’s good 👍
Don’t forget the TVM of prepaying $150 with staggered quarterly capitalizations (not even redemptions). With risk free rate at ~4.5% that’s another ~$6 off the captured value. Still comes out ahead so maybe not so meaningful…
Ohh you guys and your numbers, you know we don’t care about numbers, we’re freaks!

Sweet video… but what the heck is a timeshare?
A terrible idea
Basically buying ownership in a brand, usually around $2-$60k, then they give you points to use at their properties for the rest of your life, while also paying their taxes and fees each year etc.
Basically a waste for most people unless you really know what you’re doing.
But I like them because you can get value by being a fake buyer, watching a presentation to buy their thing, and I get points, then leave ha.

Timeshares are awful! I’d never buy one!
Can the $50 gift cards be used at non-US hotels that you pay in local currency?
Yes you can use the Gift cards in Hiltons worldwide, so long as they accept Amex that is, then you’re good! So maybe call prior to make sure they can handle them!
Thanks MMT!
Do you have to call to book to make the gift card hack work?
Nope! Just book as normal online or over the phone, no cash or points etc. Then when you go to checkout, just pay with the gift cards.

100%, people complain but they are an easy way to get some awesome points and cheap stays. Very easy to say no I think, not for everyone though.

Non hilton spend isnt anything to be excited about. The only exception is the 15k FNC. Use these in the hotel.
X5 or x6 for gas or groceries isnt anything to be excited about. Point value is less than other systems.
In a hilton for staying is where to be excited. Hilton honors membership
gives you x10. The cards give status. Silver adds 20% gold 80% diamond 100%. For x2,x8 & ×10. Then the cards ad x7,×12 &,14.
So the honors actually earns x19
Surpass x30.
Thanks
. The hilton point is worth .005
006? So surpass x6 in other card systems is x3 in value. A point isnt equal between systems..
A citi custom cash is x5 thats like a hilton x10. .
This example shows non hilton spend isnt the greatest on hilton cards.
What makes hilton cards good is hilton spend. The surpass is x30. You get x10 for hilton honors, surpass give gold with 80% bonus for x8 more and the surpass card adds x12 for x30. Thats why its a good card. Its not a good gas or groceries card.

Amex out here making us do crazy things!! Yeah it’s a pain, I guess it wouldn’t be the sole really to get it, but worth doing if you already have the card etc.
Thanks Ryan man, I’m with you haha.
I still see the Bonvoy card as better
5 free nights as welcome bonus
$95 fee with a free night credit worth about $300
Also there are WAY more Marriots than Hilton's
Oh yeah, in this given mid tier range, I’d probably go with the Boundless or even Woh card for that matter, but I think if you can work it, Gold status can possibly earn you more free nights if you can hack it.
Can’t wait to get into Marriotts chain honestly.
Thanks AB!
Countdown to that glitch getting fixed 3,2,1
That is to say, that it is a glitch Adiscrete 🤔
But it’s possible, doesn’t feel wrong though?
@@AnthonyVenture I think they consider anything that benefits the consumer in a way they didn't foresee as a glitch
@@AdiscretefirmHaha you know what you’re right, didn’t think of it like that 😂
I really hope not then 😬
Too bad the Hilton points are so worthless.
@stephenlacher587
So you saying that their points are worthless hilarious, you must have been using it wrong and smart enough to figure out how. 🥲
I had a 5 night stay at Crockfords in Vegas, was upgraded to a $900 a night room with free late check out and early check in… throw in the property credit that stay was well over 5K and cost me about 80$ out of pocket.
@@MH_6160do you have Hilton credit card?
FYI I redeemed 210k Hilton points recently at 1.9cpp 😉
So Hyatt points are obviously worth a lot more than Hilton. But its all relative. Other than transfers from Chase Hyatt points are way harder to collect also. Hilton points are just fine with me easy to earn, easy to spend.
🐿️
Ha! It’s a furniture store; that surprisingly also has free ev charging for some reason 😂
Haha you found it Bob!!
And damn Calby really, didn’t know that. That’s funny.
The surpass is a trash card. Better off getting the aspire instead of 2 surpass’s, But your method is good for the people that have it
Oh damn Gemini, coming out the holster haha.
For sure if you have it already, can be powerful.
Aspire is great, I want to get it one day.
Thanks Gemini!
