Stumbled upon this by coincidence. I recall Vivek is the guy who called RJ a "fourth option" on the Raptors show when he arrived in Toronto. So needless to say he underrates the hell out of RJ. RJ's ceiling is somewhere around Jaylen Brown, and Jaylen Brown is still improving as well. RJ and Scottie are going to be 1a and 1b on this team and have a chance to be one of the very best duos in the league. IQ is not going to be an all-star unless he gets super lucky like Devin Harris, and he would certainly be one of the most forgetable all-stars. RJ's ceiling is super high and I certainly did not forget that he was in the same conversation as Zion and Ja as the top prospect in their class.
I mean, when he got traded and Siakam was still on the team he absolutely was the fourth option lol. It's almost like opinions can change as new information becomes available.
I also think the Jaylen Brown ceiling thing for RJ is wildly optimistic, mostly because Brown is like 5x the defender RJ is right now. RJ's game improved when he took on less responsibility. I kinda think what he's doing on offense right now is his ceiling, which is totally fine! Not everyone needs to be as good as the literal finals MVP to be a helpful and valuable player.
I have said like all offseason that I think RJ's offensive leap last year is legit and sustainable. I like all three guys? I know for some reason that's impossible for people to understand, and that latching onto one guy while saying everyone else sucks is the way most people watch the sport now, but it's a pretty bad and wrong way to watch it!
@@LockedOnRaptors I think offensively Barret has shown us what he’s got. Hopefully next season his 3 can become more consistent, but I think he’ll complement the all star calibre play of SB and IQ nicely. The real question is defence like you sorta mentioned above. Is he capable of locking in on that end of the floor to create a top 10 defensive in the league 🤷🏻? I’m not too sure, but we know very little about this rosters defensive capabilities. On paper it’s great but defence is a product of good coaching and a general respect/belief from the players in the front office.
I am sick of everyone saying, and believing that we are tanking this year, no hope , we are right around playin , and so on .....we said that last 2-3 years and this year too. Might as well just keep tanking tanking tanking and soon raptors will have a BIG STATUE of Tank infont of scotiabank arena. well to all hopeless people from podcast, youtube. I am very hopeful and will encourage everyone that nothing is impossible specially if you reach playoff. Anything can happen. If not fine, not a big deal but atleast we are cheering for Win. Whatever. Man... we are going for playoff guys this year. We want wins not lost. When we are in playoff , we get help through trades and go for championship guys...whats wrong with that? Who is laughing? PEOPLE WHO ARE LAUGHING WANTS A BIG TANK STATUE IN THE SCOTIABANK ARENA ..WHATEVER
I'm excited to see this core have a full season to gel. I think Barrett could stay the leading scorer esp if Barnes is always drawing the top defender. I think Barnes can continue to see improvement in his 3's esp as IQ, Barrett, and Dick have all been shooting the 3 decently so Scotty can take only the more open looks (ideally). Still need a long term option at the 4 and I'm interested to see how the young bench shapes up and what trades are coming (ideally sooner than later) for Brown, Boucher, and maybe Jak. Improvement across the board this season with a real identity forming, serious playoff team in the East for 2025.
If Kerr and Warriors management weren't cheater's by not allowing Wiggins to play for Canada I believe Canada would of beaten France they still probably lose to USA but they would have had a chance to upset USA

RJ and IQ are good players, but have been very inconsistent. Great games followed by meh games.
I mean RJ basically put up 22-6-4 on efficient shooting in like every game he played as a Raptor last year. He was insanely consistent!
