I was like : I ll unlock this. Until the part came with the morse code, where you have to record and translate the code. All this work for 1 skin, respect for the guys that put in a lot of hours to figure this out.

Björn Dijkstra just pull the Sammie out of battle packs its a legendary skin that looks almost identical to this 1 only difference is no skull and the Sammie has extra green gems or emeralds on it
There is an app called Morse code agent on play store where you can take your recorded sound file and then the app detects the Morse and automatically translates it for you.Thats how I do this Morse thing without any knowledge

Also (a bit late the party but helpful for those who need help in the comments) turn your audio mode to 'war tapes' in the settings to reduce background noise etc and focus more on the morse code

@@antonnordin3749 im not sure if its the same as i play on ps4 but if you go to options then audio settings, theres a setting that i cant remember the name of that should say something like 'small speaker' or 'headphones' in the options (depending on the output device of your audio).
Just flick flick through the audio settings if you cant find it. Its near the top of the audio settings menu btw.

Darkdraco002 there are plenty of apps out there that can detect and translate morse code in an audio file.
Also, the guys in the discord linked in the description can do it for you

There is a Battlefield community dedicated to find this kind of things. They are usually developers themself. They check the source code of Battlefield games to find these eastern eggs/skins etc.. I hope that clarifies it for you mate!
You would not believe how many theories was in place on discoord to solve this. Stayed up long nights trying to help out lol.
Had it not been for the mulitple morse found on Turning Tides (which jjju put there to help us) we probably wouldn't have solved this.

Why not just record and listen to the morse code with your ears at half or quarter speed and type the dots and dashes into the morse code translator? A short beep is a dot, and a long beep is a dash. I think using another program is complicating it more than necessary.

Anon E. Moose I did it in 15 mins on Xbox, pen and paper for the Morse code translation. My code was stupidly easy though, -.../-.../-.../-.-./-.-. (BBBCC) 🤙

Or you could learn the first five letters of morse code or even write it on paper... Learning the whole morse alphabet took me a few hours, so it´s not really that hard.

Took me about 20 minutes. This was actually easier than I thought. Thanks Jack!! Since I’m on Xbox and didn’t wanna go through the trouble of uploading a screen capture and whatnot, I just listened to the Morse code a few times, wrote down what I thought I heard, and then typed the letters into a Morse code translator to see if it played back the same rhythmic pattern.
I have a musical background so it was fairly easy to identify the rhythm/pattern of the Morse code, but I suggest people give it a try!

Took me forever first try. Had a morse code translator app that listened to the code to display it because auto translate wouldn't work so id have to guess if a spike was morse code or an artillery strike lol. The plus side was i knew a morse code when i finished lol

quick tip! if there is too much wind or background noises when you are trying to decode the morse it will not work! the sound will cover the morse and hide it!

How do you reduce the wind/background noise? I'm having that problem for sure. The beeps are lost visually in all the noise.

At least I got mine legit when I was sharing my account with my bro, but once he moved out I had to create my own and once they did this for the bow for free. I'm not spending my time doing the Phantom Projects again.

Unlike in "A Beginning" this Morse code is very faint and you have to find a map with clear weather or else it gets completely drowned out by the wind noise. Consequently the online audio decoder can't read it so Audacity is the only way. To minimize any confusion in the lighthouse you can tag the C-F switches by etching letters in the wall with your pistol.
I actually didn't own any skins for M1917 so this came in very handy - thanks, Jack.
for people who play on a console and want to solve the morse code
1.grab your phone and record the morse code (make sure you put it next to the speakers and put the volume up)
2. When it's recording. BE QUIET or else it's difficult to hear the morse code
3. after you record the code change your video into a wav. file. Do this on your files app
4. use your usb charger and send your wav. file into your computer.
5. open audacity and record your morse code
6. translate it using a morse code translator
7. done
Update:dont put the volume up. It'll mess up the translate. Only put the volume up if youre in a noisy area.

Joe Tippett no, it does not matter. All of the skins that you have that you don't have the guns for, they will just be in your inventory.

Got it! Thanks for the help! Also, instead of recording a video clip, I recorded the audio with my phones voice recorder and then plugged it into my computer and opened the file in Audacity. I then followed the same instructions you gave and it was very simple to do. Thanks again.
Help me please to translate morse code
Record it with ShadowPlay > export the mp3 > send Discord (BFEE) > copy ur mors translate > go to lighthouse > do the thing and BUM. i did it within 10 minutes when 4 players in the server with BFEE help. They are great community, thanks for them!
or alternatively you can just use a morse strings sound to english translator.

i think the morse code part is the worst. Otherwise its just running around.
Basically sums up Bf1 in general tbh. Brilliant graphics and gameplay moments but not anything ‘significant’ to play for
Basically you have to a lot of requirements and do some work for a skin that looks similar to one already in game. And the skin is also only for one gun in the the support class. Nothing else. Sorry but I’m not wasting my time on that. Maybe if it was some special weapon, hell yeah. But it’s not so no.
GlodChip It’s the legendary skin for that weapon but a few color changes and some skulls added.

The only trouble I had was trying to figure out where my 5-character code started. Then I realized that there is an extra long pause in the sequence after every 2 or 3 repeats, and I was able to find the larger space and start there.

I just did it. Only hard part was the Morse code but thankfully the discord helped me instantly.
There is a quicker way to decode the morse code by recording the morse straight to Audacity. In Audacity you need to set the Audio Host to WINDOWS WASAPI and then set your input AND output to your headphones/speakers (the ones you hear in-game audio). Then just start recording, alt-tab back to Battlefield 1 and record the morse. Once you are done just stop the recording and start decoding.

I was doing this and had gotten to the part about the lighthouse as I was running up to it. Somebody joined my server, blew the top off the lighthouse and left the server
i had a similar thing, but i kept shooting at his plane and then they left after about 15 minutes. i guess he got his fun.
they broke one of the lamps in the houses, and the procedure still worked, even if I wasn't the one to break it

One quick note. It works even for multiple players if you can't find an empty server. So it doesn't matter who triggered the Morse code - as long as you put it in the lighthouse you will get the skin. Btw. Great video as always Jack!

Guys, U don't have to unlock that gun before u do this. But it seems u cannot hear that unlocking sound when u finally pressed the button of the top of the lighthouse. I did this before I unlock that weapon. When I unlocked the weapon, there're skin already. Cheers mate!
If you're having trouble with the audio not showing the dots and dashes- open audacity and open the file containing the audio clip. highlight the audio by dragging across the whole clip and go to effects>amplify>then click okay. Then you can split stereo to mono, change it to spectogram then normalize it and you should see your unique dots and dashes.

Admiral Mudkip if you mean the B button inside the tower.. I believe all I did was go crouch which made me completely in line with it and got as close to it as possible.

IMPORTANT TIP:
So i just completed it, but i found it very hard to get such a clear graph in Audacity as jack has gotten.
So i skipped over a few servers and recognized that there is a chance, that you get a sunny version or a version of the map where a storm is going on.
I was unlucky enough to try it on the stormy one where the wind noises destroyed the whole attempt.
So do yourself a favor and try to find a map with the sun at the horizon and a less cloudy sky. Then your audio will be good enough to more simply read the morse code.
Another tip: you don't have to make a video first. Just set your microphone to your speakers in Audacity and start a recording, then simply alt+tab back into the game, wait for a few seconds and alt+tab back out to stop the recording.

TheGarryModder oh sorry maybe I didn't describe it good enough, I meant that you can set your microphone in audacity (the device audacity captures the sound from) to your speakers. So that audacity directly records the game sound "through" the speakers. I hope I made it clear enough :D

Tried to do this twice on an empty server and each time some numptyhead spawned in and blew up the lighthouse before I could get to it.

Have any of you got a private server to help a brother out? Cause finding an ‘empty server’ is all well and good aside from when there aren’t. Or you find one and then someone else joins and constantly kills you....

Ö _ Search in Oceanic regions. That’s what I do. I was on console and found about 10 empty Albion ones. Since you’re alone, the ping won’t effect anything. They never fill up for me anyways.
Make sure it’s a ranked server though...password protected servers won’t work

Good tutorial, I completed it today. Because of the amount of switches in the lighthouse, each morse code letter can only be between A and F.
Saw a video of the alphabet in morse code, wrote down the dot and dash combination of each letter, then listened to the morse code given and solved it that way.

Got it !!!! I was sweating bullets at the end (pun intended). I ended up using my phone to record the audio. It worked when I when to a server that was a sunny morning without the wind. The wind made if too difficult to decipher the audio.

The DICE LA camo in BF4 was worth more, and for less effort.
It'd actually give you some protection from IRNV and Thermal scopes. BUT to go this far for a skin is just silly!
What you can't make the video to audio or download audacity
It's a lot of work.
It takes like 15 minutes
It's worth noting that when I accidentaly (I was rushing it) broke one of the glass lamps inside the building where you just knock out the lamp outside, I was unable to interact with the switches in the light house and had to start over. There simply was no option poping up to press E to interact.
Admiral Mudkip wasn't able to interact with any of them. And I agree B is terrible lol.

It took me 8 hours and I now know the first couple of letters of the alphabet in morse code like the back of my hand, but having an exclusive skin for my absolute favorite gun in the game to show off is absolutely worth it.
Great video, the keep my from getting mixed up on the stairs, I used a revolver to write the letters next to the C, D, end E switches. Thanks

I literally send a video of my code and 20 seconds later someone on discord deciphered it. Amazing
I have the feeling that some people get in the server occupied by one player hoping to get the candy without any effort or just to troll. Like by blowing up the lighthouse.

That was a pain but I got it. Don’t have a PC so wound up watching UA-cam vids to help train my ear for the letters a-f.managed to hear my code first time and got the skin. Damn you dice for making me learn something!
I actually found the letters out before I found out the order... Also on PS4 this sucks because you can barely hear the Morse code over the waves crashing... Got there in the end after about 30 mins and a couple of corrections in the Morse code... Thanks Jack
