I discovered Brandi Carlile as she sang with Joni Mitchell. Such a beautiful person and wonderful talent! I watch CBS Sunday Morning and cannot believe that I missed Brandi on it. I am so glad that I found her at my age. I am happily 67.
I found her then as well, and on Aug 30th. this year, I got to see her perform with great seats In Lenox Mass. (Tangelwood) One of the best concerts I've ever seen in My 70 years young. Do it if you have the chance.

Man, I AM getting old! I just discovered this brilliant gal, and HOLY SMOKES! Her voice, her song writing, her story telling, her personality and her soul are all so incredibly beautiful! And what equally amazing twins/fellow band members! They all have a brand new “senior fan!” 😉💓

Great interview of an exceptional artist and humanitarian. So great to see her hold on to that humble hunger and her lasting relationships. I am a late arrival as a Brandi fan, but am a loyal one now.
I work at a piano store in Portland, OR and I had the pleasure to see her perform a few songs "unplugged" in our recital hall before she performed at the Aladdin Theater next door. What a beautiful artist and person!!!

Back in 2007, Brandi's song "Have you ever" was used in a Woodland Park Zoo video for Snow Leopard kittens. I've been a Brandi Carlile fan since then and I also donate funds to protect/save snow leopards.
Brandi seems to be just a wonderful human. The twins as well. And they're all fantastically talented musicians to boot.
Music with heart, borne of values and connections we can all share. Finally the recognition they deserve.

I really love Brandi and her music. I didn't grow up dirt poor, but I had friends who did. I grew up on a farm in Iowa, so there was no silver spoon in my mouth either, just hard work. Her songs resonate in my heart.

Nice to see someone who could be a neighbor soar to such heights and keep their humility. I have been hearing and reading about Carlisle for what seems....decades but it is only about 1 decade and like most, it came to me in the song The Story, but not even her version, but the version sung by Sara Ramirez on Grey's Anatomy, which still remains my favorite. Continued success......to all of them!

She's so beautiful inside and out. Her song, "The Joke" has been so therapeutic for me. I want to see so much more of her. And this interview was so cool, that she is just a laid back person and identifies with her past. I grew up poor too. I'm ok now, but so cool that a star can admit that and be SO sincere about it. I never even heard of her until I read the list of Grammy nominees. And then swept the Americana category. Glad to see her get the recognition she deserves.

Been a fan since she wrote the lyric “as long as the day is full of time, there will always be room for your hand in mine”. ❤ I saw her busking at Pike Place back in 2000 (?), then caught a live performance not long after. I can’t remember where but it may have been at Hattie’s Hat or the Sit-n-spin. Such an amazing voice!

Fantastic interview, fantastic musician, fantastic human being! And the ‘By The Way, I Forgive You’ album is truly sensational! IMHO, it’s right up there with ‘OK Computer’ and ‘Dark Side Of The Moon.’ It’s one of those albums that starts great, and by the fourth song you feel like you’ve already experienced something remarkable. . . . And then it gets even better!

We saw Brandi in concert in about 2007 when she was the opening act for the Indigo Girls. Instantly knew she was amazing, bought her album that night and huge fans ever since.
Saw Brandi at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland 7-10 years ago when she was just starting to grow her music scene into the greater Pacific NW and I have loved her soulful music ever since. It's wonderful to see her continued recognition and achievements, with more people learning what an amazing artist and human being she is!
My first concert was at the Hampton beach casino ballroom watching her live. I'm so grateful for stumbling upon her when I was younger. I've obsessed about her ever sense.

Fell completely in love with Brandi and the twins when I heard them sing "Helplessly Hoping" on The Howard Stern Show. This interview did nothing to change my mind. One of only two artists, Neil Young being the other, that I have their complete catalog downloaded.

Had the chance to see them perform live recently. What a great show and never have I seen a band with such positive energy on stage.
i love her and this so much but note: her wife was introduced 6:07 into a 6:54 piece. maybe that’s par for when they’d bring up a non-industry spouse? but with so much of this album/all interviews say how she is filled in her emotionally, so explicitly really into romance and she talks about her wife and her daughter all the time now. I just want to see her openess embraced
