When I was in Seaside, Oregon the arcade by the beach there has one of those machines, it worked fine but oh my god the note calibration was like 250+ms late lmfao I honestly didn't do too bad tho cuz I couldn't hear the song anyway so there I didn't really experience the "speech jammer" effect
I remember going up to one of these in Myrtle Beach SC just to show off my GH skills only to realize that the arcade calibration input is different than the home versions lmao
It just needs to be calibrated. Thing is that none of the staff care or know how to do that. Even the technicians don't give a shit. I worked at an arcade and I always made sure that the game was properly calibrated.

I used to be SO GOOD at GH and I 100%ed so many songs back in the day (AND AT LEAST got 5 stars on every song on Expert so I wasn't THE BEST but I also was far from the WORST at playing this game...) A DECADE or more since I touched the guitar hero games (once rockband 3 came with pro keys I started to play those more and on occasion drums because they were the most fun) I got absolutely destroyed on Cult of Personality within like 10 seconds. I tried Knights of Cydonia and my strumming hand started to cramp up and my whole arm was going numb LOL. I downloaded the PC version yesterday and wanted to practice a bit more and I was doing pretty good but the hard songs still killed me like Raining Blood I probably will never be able to do ever again ahaha, so I cant wait to go back and hopefully finish a harder song. I was sad with the setlist because LOTS of the good songs are missing like 3's and 7's, One, Number of the Beast etc. I also was never used to the GH3 controller because at that time, I had the GH2 Xplorer guitar in 2007 so when GH3 came out all i had to do was buy the disc.
It was always so fun drawing a crowd to see your skills but it was also so frustrating how janky the controls were on the “arcade” version that your 400 note streak would turn into a 150 because the arcade version was so broken.
I went to an arcade and I tried the guitar hero 3 booths but the green button was stuck thus some notes didn't count even if i pressed the button but other than that it was fun
These machines can also be found here in the UK. I've played on one of them before and oh my God, that guitar weighs a ton and is so uncomfortable to hold. Also the calibration is horrendous, I failed at 50% in this song. However, I can FC it no problem in Clone Hero.
If they actually renovated those arcade machines and fixed the strum bar and calibration (along with the blown out speaker most likely) this would be the best guitar hero
it is basically just GH3PC with some DLC songs running on an oversized windows XP machine. A while ago it was even leaked to the general public, though I haven't quite figured out how to get it to work on my computer.

(The wii guitar,specifically the GH world tour guitar) has a tiny cable to connect the wii remote, said cable is similar to the knunckhuch cable but it is way shorter and its desingned in such a way that no matter the position the cable would bend. Im debating if i shlould use the wii remote outside of the shell.
