Yeah, he nailed it in the ending bit about time feeling wasted. Just about every player that puts any significant amount of time into Siege burns out, and most never come back. I remember being excited to get on this game for 7-8 hours a day over the pandemic, and no matter how I try, I can't find that enthusiasm for Siege anymore. Something killed it for me, and I can't quite figure out what.
I quit for a season solely because of other players, that might be it. I'm back on track though, dabble in other games and keep sessions short, best siege experience ever
Probably bc you didn’t have anything or anyone to drive you to play the game. I played siege for 7-8 years now and I can take breaks from it but nothing can come close to what siege is. It’s just that burning competitiveness that makes me come back. I’d say improvement is a good motivation to keep on playing the game, but for some siege is just not enjoyable which is fine.
Stacking all my traps on like 2 random doors just across the map and getting a kill is to funnny especially when the person who dies instantly types "why TF do you have at rap there" It may only work like 2 /100 times but it is too good :D
Played the game from dust line to void edge with varying number of friends. I'll never forget those memories. Good to know others don't either, even if it is in the form of an accurately scathing rant. also, para bellum was peak
You summed up this video. I’m still into this game since it’s Beta and I’m still in love with the tactical creative nature of the game, especially with the team play (if you have good friends and cooperative people). It’s incredibly sweaty and hard to get into which is why wish they had more casual modes or more emphasis on gadget play and destruction instead of all-aim sweat brain. When you get someone into the game, they stay but if they leave it’s hard to get them back in. And the gun commentary is so accurate. I wish it were more focus on character traits and abilities but guns have so much priority, especially with the one shot head shot mechanic which can be cheesed by high fire rates. Map Ban and Pick Ban critique is perfect as well, quick match is way more enjoyable because of this and it’s why Content Creators focussed on Casual play (BikiniBodhi and Evan Braddock) make Siege more fun. Also, the only good operators we’ve gotten this year was Azami and Solis - unique gadgets that actually shake things up. But you’re final comment hit me hard. The only thing to grind for is Rank and getting better, there’s no proper skin progression or Operator mastering to show off or to work towards. It’s a good game and probably Ubisoft’s last original and innovative one. I still hope they continue to keep working on it. If they make a Siege 2, please don’t burn it out like this game once did. If you’re a new player or are curious to return please come back with their friends. You can learn better and avoid more toxicity.
I don't dare go near Siege these days, but I have fond memories of it around 2017/2018 where I'd play every night with my friends bouncing between high hold to high plat. The game lost a lot of what made it special. I liked it a lot originally because it felt very grounded and realistic compared to lots of fps games I'd played before. When my interest started to fall off it was just post Operation Health with I think the addition of Ela? The game lost a lot of its charm I think and kind of lost what made it fun to begin with. In some ways it got overcomplicated and the newer characters and abilities often felt tiresome to face? I dunno how to word it really. I also personally lost a lot of interest because I was getting too competitively invested and it was frustrating me more than I was enjoying it. I've reivisited it a few times over the years but it's never really captured me like it did back then.
Ubisoft's balancing is what kills seige for me. Its utterly depressing when I get hyped to read all of the new changes in the patch notes just to see 2 small changes to operators I don't play and nothing else.
To me it was how they balanced the fun out of the game because a big baby on a tournament cried about it. For example the withstand option on that one operator and they were supposed to give it to Tachanka. They also removed a lot of other passive things that made characters unique and more interesting to overly sanitize the fun out of the game.
@@redtheyiffer yeah the old Siege was awesome cause of how fun it was. Now its way too competitive. My hopes were that at least the event gamemodes would make up for it but the players and the gamemodes themselves make even those competitive like how tf we came down to this

And also, siege is one of the few multiplayer games I've played (on console) that couldn't care less about your level. How you describe operators worth through their guns and scopes doesn’t sit right with me. An operators gadget will always come first because of the one shot headshot. Even if you give a meta op like Azami a m12 she would still see play in pro league, additional hibana getting a nerf to the type 89 wouldn’t effect her pick rate in pro league either. When watching this video I know your new but operators can’t be classified by gun because everyone can die in one random shot. Additionally I can see this video being received well by casual players who still think lord tachanka is the height of siege but at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter because the game is dying. However until the servers shut down I’ll always come back because it’s the only game out, that is itself
12:16 damn, that hit like a semi truck, Hearing that after quitting league is like reparation's for hours of making the mistake of not banning the character that has just enough of sauce to ruin the game for everyone (even their own team).
Look at that, my fav DBD creator also plays siege like me. 500 hrs myself and havent played for a year, and I agree with everything you said. My fondest memories are that of me withstanding with zofia and clutching or stacking lesion traps but Ubi just doesn't want that in their game for some reason.
Siege as a game was fun and made sense to a degree when it came to how the reworks were (Minus house rework, bring that shit back). Now because of ranked 2.0 you are facing diamond players in copper 5 and all of the reworks to come out on solar raid were unnecessary(Removed SMG-11 on sledge and making him and mute a 1 speed, Making echo a 2 speed for no reason, etc) making it so the game is less fun and a lot more bullshit.
Ranked 2.0 has a hidden mmr system, the rank is just an astethic. If u were gold last 5 seasons, you will play against golds in ranked 2.0 doesnt matter if theyre dia or copper. Sledge was too powerful with the smg 11. The speed changes are to slow down the gameplay and echo was buffed so he can use drones more actively and flexibly. There is a reason to everything
I always find the cinematics for characters so misleading, not on the dev's fault but because I know damn well if I try to play. I'm more likely to be one of the nameless grunts that gets offed before he's even given a chance to fight back.
as i’m always telling friends, this game is the digital equivalent of a heroine addiction. the first couple times you partake, your mind opens up to all the new feelings and possibilities and you’re immediately hooked. then, after the first couple times, reality starts seeping in and you realize it’s not fun anymore, so you chase more. this is the dangerous part, because then you realize this game is legitimate cock and ball torture and it’s only fun if you’re getting something out of it, so you begin playing ranked. every match you play falls into either the “my teammates are less competent than a sped with dyslexia”, or the “i wield the power of a god and i’m going to abuse it in every way imaginable”, and the latter is why this game sucks. it’s a cycle everyone ends up in, making everything suck a lot more and the game eats at your soul. if you’re somehow unfamiliar to this game and thinking about trying it, listen when i say to stay 500 ft away from it at all times like it’s a preschool and you’re on a list. and for the love of christ, do NOT buy anything
This season of siege is more fun than the last year of siege for me. I can actually play with my dogshit friends and have fun playing instead of needing 3 accounts to actually be able to play ranked and win and be able to play with my friends that are in drastically different skill levels. I quit for a few months because my ranked stack got toxic and ranked is the gamemode that has any level of fun to it but now I can play ranked with my friends and our ranks dont block it. I can literally go sell my smurf accounts now and recoup some of that money too.

I swear to God I just saw soujorn in this game and I almost has an anuyrasm
As someone who has a little over 1000 hours, my Review is: Game good when shoot good
Honestly, I think the DBD community is still worse than the R6 community. Cause the community can be toxic, but its usually funny. With DBD's community, that's exhausting to be around. I swear to Jah if I have to hear ONE MORE PERSON TALK ABOUT DEAD HARD I AM GOING TO GO INSANE!
I got sent this and hated every minute of it. I’m sorry rowdy using cringe memes and explaining to me that updates are bad isn’t quit right
I just want the Old Battle Pass back, I hate the new shit with it's Dark Battle Pass
19:31 yes... I do know what you mean about content
15:43 Wow! You should play For Honor next.
Ngl forgot about this game ever since Secure was taken from Comp
F that bomb mode if I wanted CSGO I'd be playing CSGO
Conan 👀
Leaving ranked was the best decision I've ever made
