Sometimes you take a guy like Henderson, not just for his ability on the pitch but because he leads the team in training and sets the example. Otherwise you end up with a bunch of lads more bothered about their instagram and FIFA than putting in the hard graft.

i dont blame benny blanco considering he played alot of games for Arsenal last season and this season and competing for the league title in both season just to be benched almost every england game by players that been injured half of last season southgate favors players over performances

The biggest problem Ben White has is that he plays for Arsenal. Southgate, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher et al are all part of the generation of cultists who refused to keep their rivalry shenanigans in their locker rooms when they retired. Saka suffered this thing and the only reason he broke into the England squad is because he's damn good but you see everyday, they say he's not world-class. my word, that england squad looks juicy. My starting eleven would be this tho. Pickford in Goal. Walker (Rb), John Stones Joe gomez at CB, and Ben chilwell (Lb). Midfield Trio of Bellingham, Rice, and Gallagher. The attack would be Foden (LW), Kane (Striker), and Saka (RW). This would be a crazy team ngl.
I think this team would be kinda balanced ngl because the defense would be experienced at playing a high line and the attack would be experienced in pressing.

England qualifed for the round of 16 during the world cup. Instead of Southgate give him some minutes for the 3rd game of the group stage, he went on to play the likes of Maguire and Stones, instead of him resting them, they played all the 90 minutes,while Ben was on the bench for all the three group stage games watching Maguire and Stones.
id love to know whats going on to cause all this with White, but i expect it will be underwhelming if we do ever get told

This isn’t meant to be a slam on him in any way and it’s likely not the reason he made this decision, but I’ll never forget an interview I watched with him right before he went to Arsenal where in so many words said he doesn’t really love football. Doesn’t follow it at all. He’s good. Probably loves the lifestyle and loves winning and the camaraderie. He’s not alone if this is true.
Who knows? I just remembered this interview when I heard the news he pulled his name. Maybe just needs the break.

I don't think it's possible to play week in week out at the topmost level, which he has so far, without being in love with the sport. That's not how it works.

I very very rarely seek to make a racial comment on UA-cam because it will always be twisted and assumed the worst. But there's this great sadness in the pit of my stomach that if he were a black Englishman with his skillset and calibre, his "Englishness" would be questioned; his loyalty to his country would be judged; how disrespectful it is to the King and to country etc. The usual nationalism parroting. Credit to Ben White for standing on what he believes is right. That's all this is. A disagreement between him and management. Something we all can salute for an employee standing up for himself. But if he were not a white Englishman, I fear the conversation topics would be far more polarising. And as an Englishman, it saddens me that this thought came to my mind. Apologies if I'm overthinking.

Southgate actually used the word form in his interview, yet still selects slab head, Rashford and as he calls him Hendo all of whom's form is shite.
