Hi, did you check the casing temperature and the drive temperature (S.M.A.R.T)while idle and while running the speedtest? Would be great if you can snap/post your findings
Hi, I will share one more video. It’s been 7 months and I am loving it. I am using it to edit videos on Davinci resolve , EVen with such load, Temperature is fine and it is handling the heat dissipation well! However, they launched a new model with a tiny fan now..
GREAT VIDEO ONE QUESTION WHEN I USED IT THE SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 2TB I EXTERN SAMSUNG MAGICIAN CAN NOT START AN UPDATE BECAUSE HE CAN NOT FIND ? HOW TO YOU UPDATE THE FIRMWARE...???
Hey, where did you get the Acasis enclosure? I saw on Amazon India that the brand and manufacturer are listed as "FREEGENE." Did you get the same one? If you know anything about this, could you clarify? Thanks!
Hi, I bought it from a vendor named “KSP electronics” They even have dedicated website from where you can order , Also, I think these are the only vendors who can support the warranty too (For 1 year)
Hi, in samsung magician device health is showing n/a for samsung 990pro 1tb. could you please help me how to fix it, i am using macbook m1 air 256gb i am using acasis tbu405pro enclosure and samsung 990pro 1tb
Haha, Not really. I need a consistent read/write speed as i use this to edit 4K and 8K videos for my clients, So Sequential read/write speeds are better with this than other cheaper alternatives. If it was just for storage and basic usage, Other cheaper alternatives are good!
Samsung 990 pro is an overkill for an enclosure like Acasis. You may get a max write speed of 2500 mbps. Nowhere will you get the 7000mbps in an enclosure
Yup, I am aware of this. But if you know the sequential read/write speed work, Then you would realize how important it is to pick this one over any cheaper alternatives! Am using this to edit 4K videos to my clients and i do not want the drive to slow down in between!
what do you think I want to buy Ugreen model 40bs or JEYI 2464 Pro with a Fan 😮 really don’t know?? Gonna use it with Samsung 990 Pro 4TB ssd either MacBook Pro Apple Silicon, so any advice? And JEYI has two model with a fan and without a fan so which one to choose still don’t know
hi, do you know if the 990 pro with heatsink will also fit in this enclosure? I tried in Satechi, but it will not snap closed anymore with the Samsung inside
Why use a Samsung 990 gen 4 which is good for circa 7000Mbps inside a PC in a 40Gbps enclosure which will max out circa 3000Mbps. You can by a 4tb nvme gen 3 card card which achieves 3000Mbps for half the price and save £150. A better test would be this enclosure with a £150 4tb nvme card
Where I live, the PCIe 4.0 drives are now generally similarly priced as the PCIe 3.0. In fact the retail stores seem to be dropping gen 3 from their menu. The cheapest M.2 4TB 3.0 I can see here are Crucial P3 at 258 EUR, and 4TB 4.0 Kingston NV2 at 267 EUR. I guess soon it won't matter anymore. Great point though!
@@gaetanobruno5889 mine in the first place new and empty reached 2000mbps yes But after a week I never had those performance again. Now it like 900 in write and 400 in read and it's very random some time it's completly saturated and run at 40mbps or less. I've just done everything the crucial team asked me to do. The "active garbage collection" and so on. I've duplicated and load the same video project on 3 disk. The p3, the bx500SSD and a seagate exos HDD. When pick random clip and scrub in it the p3 is lagging. Bx500 seems to do better than before and even if performance are very unpredictable I manage to finally have a decent 330mpbs. But I can confirm it works, I have to use it more. Actually I edit on my seagate HDD... I'm so glad to have an useless 3500€ computer...
This is so cool. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I will post one more video about the performance too and some tips..

Did you have to update the FW of 990 Pro?
If you have to, how?
Appreciate your review.
Thanks,
Did you figure this out?
@@martin_woodyes fortunately, I have pc with thunderbolt port so i update via samsung magician.
what about MacBook Samsung magician app? possible to update?
No, This comes with the latest firmware with the patch, so no need to upgrade
Can you use Samsung Magician to update the SSD's firmware with this enclosure on your Mac?
Yes, You can.

did you find the solution!? possible to update from macbook?
If you had purchased a new drive, you do not need to update the firmware as it comes with the new firmware
@@LetThemKnowWhoYouAre If you had purchased a new drive, you do not need to update the firmware as it comes with the new firmware
For those speeds you could have gone with a much cheaper ssd
If speed and cost is the only parameters you care about, but not if data safety and reliability is higher on the list.
I need consistent read/write speed as i am using this. to edit 4K 10 bit videos. Cheaper SSD’s are not reliable.
I have a mac book air 2019 with intel and this
was not reconciling it...
Hi
Where to buy this acasis enclosure I am in New Delhi India
You can get it from Amazon India or any offline stores!

Unfortunately Samsung Magician is not capturing those information on Mac. You may use third party SMART tools like DriveDX

Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. That model looks good but I prefer ACASIS though. Just make sure heat dissipation is good..
How did you know if it touching the chasis?
The cover will not fit in place unless you press it or put the screws in place.
I double checked and it is touching!

No, Do NOT buy NVMe SSD’s with custom heatsink.
Oeh, too late!! But thanks for the advice. What’s the reason for that?
@@henkguitjens4883 The chassis doesn’t have extra space for custom heatsinks.
Yes. Just buy the one without heatsink and apply thermal pad. 990 pro got better thermal regulators
