    This and KINGPIN were the first movie posters I distinctly remember seeing behind the candy counter in my first year of seeing movies at the theater at age 6, wondering why Marv and Ray Stantz were kidnapping Blankman.

      @@tylertheguy3160 I always found it kinda odd how turned off Roger Ebert and other critics were at its dark comedic tone. Like yeah it is about a guy who stalks people due to having no friends, but Dumb & Dumber had jokes about rape, selling a dead bird to a blind kid, and fantasizing about impressing a date by tearing out a bad guy's heart. It isn't as if Jim Carrey went from Disney films to playing a serial killer.

      @@tylertheguy3160 I wasn't trying to argue and was trying to make a joke. I agree though, It's obviously a comedy but to someone like me with social anxiety The Cable guy character frightens me, someone that attached and stalkerish.

      @tylertheguy3160 Місяць тому +4

      @@IsmailofeRegime I agree. It's a pretty dark comedy but it's not like it's a David Fincher movie or something like that. And for the most part Chip was still pretty much in line with the kinds of characters Jim Carrey typically played.

This one's not my favorite of any of the three but it's still a dang fun movie with good heart and soul. They really enjoyed making it and it shows in the camaraderie they had. Damon for me is one of my all time favorite comedy leads, Blankman and Major Payne I watched a ton as a kid, still love them. Stern I watched in Bushwacked all the time, and Akryoyd was Ellwood Blues, seeing this as a kid blew my mind. My mom wouldn't let me buy the tape and it took ages until I found it again. Love it still to this day. Good choice!

    Minty just mentioned this one in his Ace Ventura When Nature Calls video! Could have been a crossover opportunity

    Who else is watching this, after the Celtics just made the 2024 Finals?

    You gotta make an almost cult classic on Mr. Baseball.

    I enjoyed this movie when it came out in middle school. I was a huge NBA fan so it was a fun watch. Pretty quotable too.

    I distinctly remember this movie not sucking as much as I thought it would.

    Hopefully you can cover Daniel Sterns' other Sports Comedy from the 90s for this series too: Rookie of the Year

    Please do Kangaroo Jack next! The marketing campaign, its bizarre editing history, the rewrites... And the R-cut even still exists, reportedly, just awaiting a belated debut. One of my favorite "weird Hollywood" stories and a childhood classic of mine, even if it's truly a Forgotten Failure
