This and KINGPIN were the first movie posters I distinctly remember seeing behind the candy counter in my first year of seeing movies at the theater at age 6, wondering why Marv and Ray Stantz were kidnapping Blankman.

The chemistry of the main 3 crew was what always made this movie for me. They seem like they had a fun time making this and probably shooting the sh*t after hours. Damon as a straight man always works for me, he was really likeable and talented.

this was a bittersweet sendoff to the Boston Garden: the last event held before demolition and it was mostly panned or forgotten
and seeing the locations that you saw as a kid but are now changed(like the basketball court on the waterfront) is jarring yet nostalgic

This movie is basically the comedic counterpart to "The Fan," another 1996 film about an obsessed fan who kidnaps an athlete. But that film is not played for laughs at all.

Like yeah it is about a guy who stalks people due to having no friends, but Dumb & Dumber had jokes about rape, selling a dead bird to a blind kid, and fantasizing about impressing a date by tearing out a bad guy's heart. It isn't as if Jim Carrey went from Disney films to playing a serial killer.

This one's not my favorite of any of the three but it's still a dang fun movie with good heart and soul. They really enjoyed making it and it shows in the camaraderie they had. Damon for me is one of my all time favorite comedy leads, Blankman and Major Payne I watched a ton as a kid, still love them. Stern I watched in Bushwacked all the time, and Akryoyd was Ellwood Blues, seeing this as a kid blew my mind. My mom wouldn't let me buy the tape and it took ages until I found it again. Nice to see you cover this one. I enjoyed the movie as I had free PPV due to an illegal box in the 90s. Watched it a lot and have fond memories of it. I’ll never forget Daniel Stern shouting “Jazz music sucks!” at the Jazz players. As if that was some particularly awesome dig at the team. 😆

Pretty good movie, when I saw it I had no idea who or what the Celtics were, I jusy figured it's a team they made up for the movie. Loved the acting, the humor, the pacing. Pure fun.

Okay, this is a little creepy. I just randomly saw a post for this movie yesterday, first time I ever even heard of it. Eerie. Still Daniel Stern and Dan Ackroyd, might check it out.

I actually wear a custom vest to Vegas Golden Knights games and it’s 100% inspired by Aykroyd in this movie.
