Watched him repeatedly pick up the same two slinger ammo for 30 seconds trying to carve a Gaju and thought it was a glitch cause he kept spamming the button was both the funniest and frustrating thing I have seen in awhile
To be fair, chat is no help in regards to that. He'd do better to just watch a GS Guide, but he doesn't want to do that and figure things out for himself, which i have nothing but respect for.
I'm glad he started with Greatsword. As someone who's watched enough of his videos, he is not a very patient person when it comes to general playstyles, and seeing him wrestle with a weapon that demands INNER PEACE amongst other things, this playthrough has been a delight lmao. Specially the most recent GS hunts where he seem to be getting the hang of it, finally.
Inmer peace is precise correct! The weapon is slow but your swing have weight to them. You have to have faith that it will land and think of your next move while your sword swings. I salute you, fellow GS Chad!
That must be why so far I've always preferred The Hammer to the Greatsword. Because it lets me just get my inner rage out, and whiffing with it just encourages more rage to amplify that next swing into the monsters head.
his chat told him about focus after he hunted jyura (jyura legs have focus 1) but he said 5% is to small to matter and ignored it... also he overcharges the entire time
I’ve never played any MH before and because of the sale thought I’d give it a go, and in a few days I racked up 15 hours in the game. I understand now why it’s popular, it’s just fun.
recommend watching tutorial of the weapon you use, there are a bunch of things the game doesn't tell you that are techs. Like overcharging GS attacks making them weaker.
Man I'm a minority then, when the researchers were clear from Rathian I stuck with them. But I also have that Escort Quest mentality of 'Something stupid will kill them if I don't stay right by them.'
I saved a player from a cart once by launching him out of a Kirin's aoe when he was stunned. He sent me a heart sticker midfight. Felt good. I use kicks mainly to help teammates that way.
I forgot the greatsword can kick, don’t you like hold block then press Y or something? What even is the purpose of that? I know the slap does have some use in iceborne to combo your moves and get to the slinger burst but I don’t know what purpose the kick serves if any
@@grimreefer213 I feel like it's just a leftover from old-school that they decided to keep in. It used to see some use back when strong charge was your highest base motion value attack in 3rd gen and had to follow a slap. IIRC, the combo of instant guard unsheathe (R+X+A on 3DS I think)->kick->slap->strong charge was the fastest way to access the attack. Even then, since most were running crit-draw builds it wasn't super common, people would just draw into level 3 and be done with it. Once you could get straight to strong charge from wide slash in 4U kicking was entirely a meme (though again, most were still just running crit-draw hit and run, strong charge->big swipe was just for big damage on knockdowns). As mentioned it's probably best used as just a quick hit to help out teammates.
As someone who has put 800 plus hours into Monster Hunter World since release it’s great to have it come to life again! The lobbies are almost always full now! I’m happy for the franchise! More popularity means more future releases 👌🏼
@@italianspiderman5012 lol yea. I was at hour 100 when I learned how to use the radial menu. I'm dying to deviljho so much I need to learn how to use it to auto craft max potions.
There's always a great joy in watching a new player. That moment where he gets the TCS off right as he eats fire to the face is hilarious and awesome and everyone who plays this game gets those moments.
8:15 Yeah, he's actually a really good player. I wish I played as well as him in my first time. But... imagine if he ACTUALLY learned how to play the weapon properly? Tackling and everything? He would be unstoppable. Edit: at least he stopped overcharging the GS by now.
my first few hunts in world i played og draw atk GS then on the kulu hunt it being a small somewhat agile monster i just kept going found out about the TCS spent some time in the traning area and didn't go back to the old play style until AT velkhana armor came out
Another thing to consider, most people don’t play a game for the first time with thousands of people watching and constantly trying to backseat or just troll him. I’d probably play like shit if I was in that position
@@r32guy85A lot of people are genuinely trying to be helpful, but it’s still a much different experience than just playing a game for the first time by yourself
Odogaron is one of my favorite monsters. I main GS but I bring dual blades to those to match their speed. Love zipping past eachother nipping at its legs untill it falls, and then go ham.
One of the things I dislike about the game is getting nuked with info about a debuff while the BGM is going crazy and the monster is screaming. You can tell the only thing he absorbed was "stay still" from the whole mess, not really his fault but still funny to watch
Honestly the most frustrating thing watching asmon play is watching him get stuck in a loop of - asmon has question- chat gives bad or straight up wrong answer - asmon doesn't trust chat - chat points out something important that would make asmons life easier in game - asmon ignores chat. Like... BRUIUUUUH
Well its a problem that perpetuatrs itself. The people that give bad advice ruins itfor the rest of the chat. Asmon is already really stubborn to begin with and he has reason to distrust anything chat says now.
I've tried both controller and keyboard. The main thing I like about mouse and keyboard is the camera control + item management. I play a lot of MMO's and have gotten used to using my mouse for abilities, so I slap all of my items on there and don't use the scroll at all. The benefit of controller is that the game was made for controller, so the keybinds actually make sense. I've had to completely frankenstein my keybinds to fit in clutch claw/slinger/ranged weapons.
Exactely ! I never had any trouble with M&K in MHW except for ranged weapons/claw/slinger. This made you realised the game was released on PC just so we can play it. They never tried to adapt it to M&K. Even if you can remap your keybinds it would never be perfect. For exemple, I always thought Horizon Zero Dawn on PC was a way better game when it comes to range weaponnery.
@@X-Ray_Fox It's especially bad because so many abilities are grouped together. If I put my bow aim on right click then it screws up scatter shot and claw attacks. What a headache
@@skaels Yes. And this isn't better in Rise. I tried the demo to see if I liked it (and I don't but not just because of the controls) and I tried to keybind the wirebug and I never found a way to do it naturaly. It always feels clunky and the fact that the gameplay revolves around it doesn't make the hunts enjoyable.
This is crazy man. It's starting to feel like how it was back in the old days when World was still fairly new and had a huge player base. It feels great.
Dont tell him that GS jump attacks are pretty good too. The GS jump has a little bounce to it so you can roll off a ledge and jump attack back on, repeat until you mount.
Can someone tell him to change his armors? You know he kept getting one shoted by bazel and jho yesterday. And I am 100% sure he will beat the game, but not for some the DLCs monsters.
He still didn't want to "waste resources on learning the flash bomb" even at Kushala xD And yes he's bought iceborn Asmon's *chat* is disciplined about sharpening, it's the single most common spam The contrast of his kushala vs Teostra fight was funny
reading the title of this video alone cracked me up. I don't really watch Asmongold but some random clips i've seen from him are hilarious so i already know your reaction is gonna be great. Keep it up Ruri! loving the MHW content (it being popular again gives me life, that game deserves all the love it can get)
keyboard monster hunter here, i cleared the whole game before iceborn with this so it's perfectly fine however there are points in the game that are much harder to do such as slight turning during your gliding etc.
Since the game had a slinger and aiming I immediately went to mouse and keyboard. I learnt to play that way but I do a lot of customizing in keybinds. When they introduced iceborne they changed all the controls and I had to change again. I feel pretty comfortable with it, especially when aiming the slinger or wirebugs
Another tip on sliding since you didn't mention it. Roll downhill and activate sprint mid animation to instantly start sliding, no slipping animation needed. Hammer chads can alternatively use their charge button to instantly enter charge sliding for the spin of death.
So far the only downside to playing hammer is being unable to cut off tails, I love the spinning jump attack so much that I dislike fighting in a flat arena.
I've been watching through all of his VODs intermixed with watching your return series and it's definitely cool seeing him get into the game. Definitely still a lot to learn about the nuances of the mechanics, but he's going on learning stuff of stream and farming things he needs on his own which speaks a lot to how much he's enjoying it. He loves dark souls, so it makes sense that he'd really would probably enjoy MH, but I have been really happy with how much he's embraced the game once he got used to how intentional your positioning in combat is. I don't know exactly how up to date the VODs are, but in his latest VODs he's getting into some of the elder dragons. I would definitely love to see you react to a sampling of his fights throughout the VODs just to see his progress. Not sure about any particular fights off the top of my head aside from Nergigante in I believe his latest VODs, but he's made a lot of progress IMO. Edit: You have to watch his Teostra fight towards the end of "Monster Hunter World Has Changed My Life". It's actually insane the timings in that fight! Also, his fighting the Kulu-Ya-Ku from the FFXIV colab event is a hilarious slow decent into madness. It's about halfway through the video of him completing the base storyline.
Never got into the game for whatever reason but watching Asmon play it made me buy it. Just got done with the story assignments on MHW and I am progressing now beyond it. Plays perfectly on PC for me.
The thing with claggers is: Capcom can't get rid of them without having MHW players play on a different patch than MHWI players. Which would mean you couldn't play with Iceborne players even from base World cause the fights would play out differently. I know you're playing solo, but I don't think they'd want to release a patch that separates the playerbase of the game.
But they can probably program the monsters to disable it on certain missions, everybody will be on the same patch but certain missions will have it disabled
At least there is the MHW:I ICE mod, which does a lot of cool stuff and completely removes the clagger from the game. Fights feel so much better without the clagger. After playing with ICE I can't even look at MHW with claggers in the game.
I keep hearing him bring up "clagger" and I've no idea what it is.. But every time he mentions it, I'm just seeing a monster flinch from a hit... Which is something they just do sometimes long before iceborne was ever a thing.. What am I missing here?
I've watched some of Asmongolds MH vods and the game really feels like a good fit for him. He's actually really good for a first time player. As for the difficulty of playing GS I actually think it's quite beginner friendly, simple moveset and you can get big damage with just a few hits. It does take a lot of skill and knowledge to optimize GS but it's not necessary for finishing hunts, at least not in low or high rank. FYI MH World was my first MH game and I swapped between hammer, lance and Greatsword and Greatsword was the weapon that felt the easiest for me at least.
And he finally is losing his tunnelvision of not noticing anything directly outside the middle of the screen, like tracks, bonepiles etc. That was immensely infuriating in the beginning how he didn't see ANYTHING and then complained he can't find anything.
Yeah, I really enjoyed watching some of Asmon's playthrough. It got me to pick up world again and do another playthrough trying out a few new weapons this time.
While his take on the UI almost made me jump head first into a brick wall, I will give him credit for actively choosing not to use the Guardian Armor and ruin the entire base game.
Salute to Asmon for enjoying the base game to its fullest by not using any Defender equipment+Weapon and actually tries to mess around the armors skills and wpn compability. not to mention using one of the least used weapon in the game, Cool Stuff. also i kinda like seeing his understanding on the gameplay and the weapon rules. the way he plays gs without much knowledge about it is actually impressive for starters.
For greatsword I actually find it easier hillarious, cuz the angle of turning your swing direction while charging a hit on joystick is kinda finnicky, with WASD it is identical every time so easier to learn
I think it was more about the confusing UI. Which MHW is definitely guilty of, holding over many issues from older iterations. They really need to rework the UI for KB/Mouse. I've hunted past Alatreon with KB/Mouse with multiple weapons, so it really isn't gameplay issue since you can rebind. It is the legacy UI panels that is unnecessarily confusing (partly fixed in Rise, I know, but more can be done)
@@DarkWhitesidea lot of whatAsmon does is in character. The man is a genius as to what it takes to get views. For example, his mis-pronunciation of words. People eat it up and he knows it so he does it with simple words. What I find most amusing is people actually believe this is how he actually acts. Yes, this is his personality but highly exaggerated.
@@Frostea MH has confusing UI? The previous games had simpler more easy to understand UI than MHW and MHW's was made specifically for new and old players. Its completely wrong to say "legacy" panels when many of them are brand new in 5th gen.
Man carves a Spike, and Plate. He doesn't understand when he gets it. Obviously for those that doubt that it exists, the Desire Sensor is very real. 🤣 He gets told after the fact. Such a good moment.
The MHW resurgence is real...tip your hats veteran hunters and bring a helping hand to the new players during this popularity boom of the game as we wait for the next chapter in the franchise. Piece out and joy the experience with friends and family. 👍
Watching him start to understand how everything works brings me joy, also he calls out hiw counter-intuitive the menus are in world, his Nergigante hunt is one of my favorite and shows how much he has learned in a very short time
He's not understanding everything now. Also Nergigante was a fluke. He said last night he tried to beat it again and died twice and gave up off stream.
@@nuke2099 I didn't say he understood everything I said watching him START to understand everything, meaning he is starting to get it, and while his nergigante hunt may have been a fluke of him beating it, it still shows how much he has progressed since starting the game last week
loved this commentary with how invested you are in the fights and the tidbits of info throughout. I started mhw after watching a few of his vids and im mh 3 now. had no idea about overcharging (i main switch axe so thats not good) or that clagger is a thing. still dont have any idea how aerial attacks work but i plan on learning today. i think asmon is probably also missing a bunch of mechanics since hes practically speedrunning the base game. would be great to see more of these kinds of vids in the future.
Also Yellow shapness is .75 damage while Green is 1.05 . However at low rank, it doesnt matter that much. Not bouncing is more important duruning this time in the game.
@@clavclubertson573 I stand corrected. I've always heard and seen yellow shapness at .75 and green at 1.05 since I've been playing (I'm a third fleeter) but when I tried to verify, I only found Yellow at 1. And green at 1.05. That had me wondering... Why did I believe in all these years that yellow was .75? Well I know why. Yellow is .75 elemental damage. Sharpness also effect elemental. Here are the numbers I found Red is .50 raw / .25 elemental Orange is .75 raw / .50 elemental Yellow is 1 raw / .75 elemental Green is 1.05 raw / 1 elemental Blue is 1.2 raw / 1.0625 elemental White is 1.32 raw / 1.125 elemental
I grew up playing PC games so most of the time if I can, I will opt for keyboard and mouse mostly just due to the fact that the controller feels unnatural in my hand. Starting Monster Hunter my main weapon of choice is also the Insect Glaive and just the process of aiming the kinsect and harvesting buffs became the natural thing to do with a mouse.
He knows about flashpods, he don’t want to use them. His chat don’t bring it up anymore because he’s told them multiple times he don’t want to use them them. That’s not how he wants to play is his general response.
Seeing Asmon position himself for a headsnipe after the backflip so consistently is impressive imo. Like yeah, Great Sword is about knowing when you have the openings for your hits. But he just saw the monster for the first time and immediatly caught up on it. Veteran players often forget how these movesets can be entirely new to someone.
And now he's regressing with the GS. Started using the gen 1 move set against Vaal Hazak. Teo it got on with fine but then Teo is better mechanically and GS bait. Daora demolished him.
@@nuke2099 HR Elder Dragons are quite the difficulty curve tbh. When I was new (Gunlance and Lance Main) I struggled so hard against them. Kushala especially can be pain in World
He could just go with the Geralt or guardian set and have it carry him through the base game but he's going grassroots to learn the basics. Thats admirable.
His chat already gives him bad info. I remember asmon asking what vouchers do and a lot of people said its just 2x zenny, and when other chatters said that was wrong those dimwits doubled down. Its infuriating how people can be confident and wrong at the same time.
Love playing Monster Hunter World with a controller. Though on the occasions I switch to my bow/HBG I use a mouse and keyboard. I don't know. Just feels so good with Mouse/Keyboard with projectile weapons. I suck at following the creature on analog.
He basically only does the main story with minimal farming to keep the stream interesting. He breezed through the early monsters without learning how to use Flash Pods, Bombs, Traps, Slide attacks or any of the environmental damages like Paratoads or Poison Cups. He just avoided bleeding on Odogaron to not have to learn how to deal with bleeding. Now imagine if he actually play-played this game.
thank you for pointing this out i see too many people praise his sword play, what i like about him is that he's decent at sword play but not good with directions and or taking advice from actual people trying to help, he's too arrogant
Personally i think the main reason why people struggle with the greatsword is the overcommitment of the TCS. Yes, it's a fantastic move and it does a lot of damage, but the rest of your moves with the greatsword are designed to facilitate the use of the TCS. Getting a good hit from the strong charge slash will often stagger the monster, and this naturally gives you an opening to the TCS since it's the move that comes directly after it. Charging your draw slash to full is often a big time-waster too. If you have time to charge your draw slash to lvl 3, you are likely better off throwing out your drawslash uncharged and then charging your strong charge slash to lvl 2 or longer if you have the time. The benefit is not just that you will do more damage, but since most of your damage is coming from the strong charge slash, you will find that you will have more opportunities to TCS since you're already in the stance to TCS when the monster is staggered. So that I've mentioned that charging your draw slash is not recommended, when you should do it? I think the best answer is partbreaking in my mind. If you are uncertain when you will get another chance to hit a monster's horns, charging your draw slash can be a way to delay your attack so that it connects in time. Because of this you might find crit draw is a good way you break parts off of monsters since it allows you to be mobile but still get good damage on monster parts. For the most part though, if you aren't focusing on a part or using crit draw, your draw slash should be used as a low-commitment (uncharged) move to get a little more damage during a hunt.
Anjanath gives me more trouble in multiplayer than solo. Because the fights tend to be more chaotic it can be harder to predict and Anjanath can put you in a bad spot if youre unlucky.
@@Svoorhout85 I love doing multiplayer in multi monster hunts it's fast and chaotic. I happily go in knowing I can tank stuff with the lance and be at low risk of carting. I'm starting a new playthrough with the hammer through I mostly played lance with some switch axe, light blowgun and dual blades on the side it's so fun trying stuff.
Been having a lot of fun watching Asmon try MHW. It's refreshing to see someone just play the game and try to learn through playing. Naturally there's a lot of stuff he will miss but I think he's doing great all things considered. Anja is giving him the most trouble so far even in high rank so it would be fun to have you watch that. Here's hoping we get an Asmon reacts to Ruri reacting to Asmon vid 😂
I always forget how valuable it is to watch react vids from an expert to learn tech and strategy. Something about it is so much more engaging to my brain than a static tutorial. Great stuff!
The clagger was always there when I first played mhw so I thought it was a feature for the base game not for the iceborne dlc and didnt complain about it until now😂
Asmon always seemed like a really solid gamer who was stuck “typecast” as MMO dude. Anytime I see him step outside of MMO territory he always shows an inherit knowledge of how things might probably work and training good habit from the start. (Sharpening when actually needed, keeping up on food for dangerous hunts, pro-carves to make sure it doesn’t rot/get forgotten in pursuit of a limping before flight monster.)
When Ruri said bounce city on Barroth I just smiled and went "SwAxe don't bounce in sword mode!" hehehe. The one weapon I always end up going back to. That and GL and MHRise Hunting Horn I think are my Faves
Ok, not sure if you're still taking requests to watch his hunts but he just did one against Teostra and holy moly that was a good hunt. 10/10 definitely should give that a watch.
His gameplay was actually super impressive as someone playing blind for the first time without ever researching their weapon mechanics and combos and playing without a controller. Like at this point he doesn’t know tackle or what overcharging even is he’s under the intuitive assumption that longer charge means more damage and stuff. I wasn’t even able to play nearly as well my first time.
I remember watching his 1st stream where he named his Palico McConnel lmao, we all fell out rolling and was actually questioning his choice of 1st weapon which was the GS because we knew his lack of patience and all, but needless to say we're all very impressed with how far he's come with this game. I myself just started this game 3-4 days ago and been having a blast with it, I'm maining the SA and man, them chonky hits when in Axe Mode and then the blasts when you connect with EC, so dam sexy lmao
The sharpness thing really is something I had to learn in World. In the older games, yeah, you'd bounce off a lot of random parts with Yellow (iirc, the early GS in MHFU specifically had abysmal sharpness because a full charge would give it Mind's Eye) but in World? Yeah, it's not that bad. Yellow, despite what it looks, is still a 1.00x modifier on your damage. It's the actual base sharpness, whereas Green is the first bonus damage. I tend to forget that since with most weapons you move on from Yellow very quickly. Also hell yeah, pro carve! I always wuss out of pro carving and then forget to carve the tail at all. Don't make that beginner's mistake ;) I actually love World Rathian. I've been playing MH4U again and Rathian's been kicking me around a bunch because she lacks so many windup animations - on the running charge and the tailspin both, which makes her infinitely harder than World's iteration but also less alive-feeling (which I personally care more about)
New to the game, started a week before Asmon. Great to hear veteran’s take on the inner mechanics and game dynamics. Very fun to listen to and learn. Playing MHGXX on my switch for a work trip this week. Getting my ass handed to me using greatsword and came to UA-cam for some support haha
I wish the Algorithm of YT didn’t require creators to do this “Reaction” content… I will always love this channel. I just hope this doesn’t become a frequent thing. It is actually nice to see Asmon doing something other than reaction content.
the problem with removing the stagger is that in multiplayer if they do have iceborn those who don't have it will still get messed up. they would have to make it that those with the expansion can only join the expansion or something unless the code it to register if the host of multiplayer has the expansion to allow stagger.
Lol at your reaction to him getting a plate, he's had some serious streamer loot in that game. I'm enjoying watching him play and discover everything. He's doing really well for a beginner he's one shot monsters I didn't.
heck yeah I'd be up for mire content like this! I've been following along with Asmon's vods as well and recently dug up my vanilla copy of MHW as well after seeing the trailer for Wilds. alsways fun to see another newbie improve alongside you
The second he realizes he can charge the aerial overhead and there are walls to run up I imagine he's going to full send aerial greatsword. Hands down one of the most pleasant ways to play world/iceborne.
Im kinda worried about the fact hes just been grinding through the story while avoiding side quests and farming for new armor and weapons like the plague. I understand that in low rank thats still pretty forgiving and that hes been crafting the right armor while paying attention to the skills. But if he doesnt have the materials to craft a piece he will just go ahead with the story without ever making the gear he clearly viewed as better and viable. Hes yet to start struggling so maybe my worry is misplaced. Guess we will see. Either way its always exciting to see someone else try this gem of a game.
It's surprising that he actually likes MHW. He has also been watching MHW videos and reacting to it. He is getting good with the GS timing too. You can see him releasing the charge early if he thinks he doesn't have enough time. He still doesn't know some mechanics that will make the hunts easier.
I'm just happy he's enjoying this gem of a game. I always loved the weight of impacts, different strategies, and how alive the world feels. You can tell he likes smacking big ass monsters and the challenge of it.
ive watched his vids from the start and heres what i can say: 1. chat always reminds him to sharpen 2. hes overcharging he doesnt know it 3. the clagger TCS is his move he always try to make it hit 4. he knows about jumping attacks 5. he picks up everything literally everything on the way. 6. he knows about limping later in the game and he learned capturing thx to chat 7. he has little knowledge about mounting mechanics but at least he can topple the monster down. 8. he always goes for the tail if chat says he can cut it 9. he does wake up TCS but still struggle about the positioning, he usually gets it the second try. 10. he gets very cocky when monster is slayed or limping its funny lmao
It is fun watching someone play World for the first time as it kinda takes me back to when I first started the game and you can look at it with fresh eyes a little bit, but it is also a little bit frustrating seeing someone make beginner mistakes like overcharging your greatsword for example. Of course we’d never be able to tell him that because there’s 50k people in his chat, I don’t know how anyone could keep up with that or why it isn’t in slow mode at least. He also really ought to start utilizing the tackle and short cutting to TCS when possible
I've racked up almost 300 hours playing World with mouse and keyboard and find it to be alright after remapping some of the keys. The only problem is that the UI doesn't respond very well to pointing at options with the mouse; there's a slight lag when hovering over selections that causes you to sometimes pick the wrong thing. (For all intents and purposes, it feels "sticky.") Lots of the UI controls, such as in the character creation screen, are unintuitive and takes a minute to figure out. Essentially you can really tell everything was designed for a controller and the PC port was an afterthought. It is what it is.
"he is in HR now, maybe by now he is aware of how tackling works and he's mastered it" - I giggled a little hearing that :D
Uh oh.
Watched him repeatedly pick up the same two slinger ammo for 30 seconds trying to carve a Gaju and thought it was a glitch cause he kept spamming the button was both the funniest and frustrating thing I have seen in awhile
@LordShonji we've all been there haha. Those damn slinger pods get in the way of so many carves and pickups
To be fair, chat is no help in regards to that. He'd do better to just watch a GS Guide, but he doesn't want to do that and figure things out for himself, which i have nothing but respect for.
Let's be real, most of us figured out how tackling works by learning on UA-cam.
He should at least learn to tackle...
his chat told him about focus after he hunted jyura (jyura legs have focus 1) but he said 5% is to small to matter and ignored it... also he overcharges the entire time
Inner peace lmao So true! aha

I saved a player from a cart once by launching him out of a Kirin's aoe when he was stunned. He sent me a heart sticker midfight. Felt good. I use kicks mainly to help teammates that way.
100% the game and still learning new things 🤯
The kick is the only move GS main need lol
Asmon jumping nonstop on the Anajath when he mounts it is the funniest shit ever.

Second video
Odogaron is one of my favorite monsters. I main GS but I bring dual blades to those to match their speed. Love zipping past eachother nipping at its legs untill it falls, and then go ham.
One of the things I dislike about the game is getting nuked with info about a debuff while the BGM is going crazy and the monster is screaming. You can tell the only thing he absorbed was "stay still" from the whole mess, not really his fault but still funny to watch
He got annihiliated on the first fight with Clifford, but then absolutely destroys it on his second attempt.
It's why I just don't watch twitch or read chat ever. Chat is the worst thing about basically any stream anywhere
some people are also kinaa impatient with the "advice" which makes it more annoying to listen to even if it could be helpful
@@SoulHydronexcept in Asmon's place, his chat is not helpful
This is crazy man. It's starting to feel like how it was back in the old days when World was still fairly new and had a huge player base. It feels great.
If he beat Elden Ring with pure jump attacks I'm pretty sure he's gonna finish the game without even knowing what tackling is.
Dont tell him that GS jump attacks are pretty good too. The GS jump has a little bounce to it so you can roll off a ledge and jump attack back on, repeat until you mount.
Hes been doing it constantly yesterday
Honestly, I generally don't use tackle and prefer dodging. So I think he'll be fine tbh.
Can someone tell him to change his armors?
You know he kept getting one shoted by bazel and jho yesterday.
And I am 100% sure he will beat the game, but not for some the DLCs monsters.

The contrast of his kushala vs Teostra fight was funny
another iconic thing is chasing after bazel, nd he did exactly that. edit: and gave up after carting too may times, classic

His chat has been a "sharpen" bot. if he draws his weapon, 10 seconds into a fight, they think he needs to sharpen again

@@kayschut9327 Its not too big of a deal since tails can be quest rewards but yeah I feel you, also blunt weapon with sharpness lmao.
It's about halfway through the video of him completing the base storyline.
at 33:00 his palico needs a raise, saved his ass lol

@@ShadowMelt but what about people who bought MHWI in a pack?
@@yaroslavmoroko5340 they can just make lr w hr monster dont have clagger tho. that mechanic is for mr monster

I keep hearing him bring up "clagger" and I've no idea what it is.. But every time he mentions it, I'm just seeing a monster flinch from a hit... Which is something they just do sometimes long before iceborne was ever a thing..
What am I missing here?
That wasnt overcharging, at that point he was already overcharged and starting new charging cycles 😂😂😂

It’s helpful getting through low rank where armor skills aren’t as impactful.
Lol that's what I am doing with rise. Dlc gear+ defender weapon to rush to master. Don't want to waste time in base game.
He had a full rant on how terrible the mouse and keyboard controls were 😂😂
For greatsword I actually find it easier hillarious, cuz the angle of turning your swing direction while charging a hit on joystick is kinda finnicky, with WASD it is identical every time so easier to learn

I bet Asmon will react to this video as well.
I doubt it lol

He already knows. He just isn't doing it because he wants to get to it when he thinks it will be needed.

He is playing the game tho, wtf is this comment lol
Hello Ruri
-I remember my first Anjanath, i got soooo heated
Anjanath gives me more trouble in multiplayer than solo. Because the fights tend to be more chaotic it can be harder to predict and Anjanath can put you in a bad spot if youre unlucky.

And the milking has begun
You call it milking, I just restarted MHW on PC (2,8kh on PS4) and am really happy that the hype got kinda revived.
Let's see what kind of present Zorah Magdaros has left of us
Ok, not sure if you're still taking requests to watch his hunts but he just did one against Teostra and holy moly that was a good hunt.
This was a fun watch, i would tonally watch another vid like this!
I enjoyed this video and would watch more of them. Keep up the good work
I respect it. Reacts are very big and being able to react to a game you love is dope
Don't make that beginner's mistake ;)
I actually love World Rathian. I've been playing MH4U again and Rathian's been kicking me around a bunch because she lacks so many windup animations - on the running charge and the tailspin both, which makes her infinitely harder than World's iteration but also less alive-feeling (which I personally care more about)
Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet but in his following stream he did get some advise on the great sword and some other things in his reddit

The second he realizes he can charge the aerial overhead and there are walls to run up I imagine he's going to full send aerial greatsword. Hands down one of the most pleasant ways to play world/iceborne.
And oh man imagine if he finds out about the slinger burst shortcut to tcs.
There are a lot of debuffs mosters get when breaking specific parts, but often tails just have less range
Great video! I’m about to get back into iceborne! You’ll have loads of content breaking down Asmonds hunt!!
"The people's sharpness" had me D.E.D. love your content man.
I'm just happy he's enjoying this gem of a game. I always loved the weight of impacts, different strategies, and how alive the world feels. You can tell he likes smacking big ass monsters and the challenge of it.
ive watched his vids from the start and heres what i can say:
1. chat always reminds him to sharpen
2. hes overcharging he doesnt know it
3. the clagger TCS is his move he always try to make it hit
4. he knows about jumping attacks
5. he picks up everything literally everything on the way.
6. he knows about limping later in the game and he learned capturing thx to chat
7. he has little knowledge about mounting mechanics but at least he can topple the monster down.
8. he always goes for the tail if chat says he can cut it
9. he does wake up TCS but still struggle about the positioning, he usually gets it the second try.
10. he gets very cocky when monster is slayed or limping its funny lmao
40:39 also ... YOU DIDNT SEE DIABLOS JUST CASUALY PASSING BY???? the chat got scare on that dude xD
He also really ought to start utilizing the tackle and short cutting to TCS when possible
my last playthrough I was killing every monster in every hunt, especially the harder to find ones early on
great video , his first encounter with Balzel was so funny , he carved a lot (music is so epic)
I really enjoy you watching this and commentating like itd a sport, complete with slow motion replays. I love the energy Rurikhan.
