Thanks, Stacey. I use sch40 PVC. I’ve used CPVC in the past because it does have better UV resistance, but overall I just don’t think it’s necessary because I store them indoors when they’re not in use. Some of my poles are pushing 15 years old and still show no signs of getting brittle.
trapshed.com/ They are the same tags I use for my traps in the winter. They work great for poles and are super affordable. I think I got 50 for around $15.
Ran across this video, really like the idea of the line being nice and neat and tangle free. Going to make a bunch of these for a video im shooting next month. What would you say is the max lb cat that those half in pvc bank poles will hold?(Subscribed) tight lines!
I think they’d hold a 20 pounder just fine. I think the biggest I’ve caught on them was in the 15-18 pound range and had no issues. I subbed your channel, looking forward to viewing your videos.
Your tip for anchoring poles with 16 penny nails is illegal in Louisiana: No metal object which is driven into or attached to the lake bottom, a stump, tree, or the shoreline shall be used to anchor a yo-yo, trigger device, trotline, limb line, jug, or other passive fishing device containing a hook or hooks.
Have you made longer ones? Do you do good fishing in the top couple feet of water? I have always fished on the bottom and sometimes that is 10 ft of water.
I keep all mine the same length, mostly for transporting reasons. I almost always fish the upper ~8” of water because that’s where they cruise overnight. The deeper holes would probably be better during the day time. I’d like to try a deeper, daytime hole though. You got me thinking. Thanks for watching.
Great content. The nailers are always a good option. Might net ya a couple more fish!
Thanks, Brother! Yes, that option has been good to us in the past!
Cool idea for your bank poles. Thank you.
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for these tips. Half the work of most videos ive seen. Love the nail hole idea.
Thanks, Jerry. Happy fishing to you!
Great video just wondering what schedule pvc you use is i

I like that man thanks for the tips. I’ve got plenty of PVC different sizes out in my barn/scraps.
Thanks for watching.
Where did you get those metal identification tags at? I would like to have some made.

There are a lot of states with differing regulations about that. It’s always good to know what you can or cannot do in your area. Great comment.
