  • We adventure into the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho on a Once in a Lifetime Sheep Hunt. Facing whitewater, rattlesnakes, and hot weather we push through 19 days of sheep hunting and hundreds of miles traveled to find and take a ram on the second to last day of season.

    You guys are blessed. That 25 minute adventure seemed like 2 hours. Thank you so much. I encourage all to get The First Mile. 65 years old and life long follower. Still a relevant source and still learning. God Bless this ministry.

    Great video fellas! I spent 20 days in that unit as well and did the same amount of mileage. Passed on one small banana head. Found 8 sheep in total. Hardest hunt of my lifetime but hands down the most rewarding. Can’t wait to get back in there and do it again! I really enjoyed your message! Jesus is our lord and savior and more people need to find him! Thanks for spreading the word!

    Sad to see such a young ram be taken out and not able to breed in a struggling population for mature rams. It's frequently preached here that's its not about the kill but it's more about the adventure and the hunt itself. Take the adventure for what it is and leave the young rams on the mountain

      @Delmiester 4 місяці тому

      Do they have minimum horn length requirements on that specific hunt? I know some do and some don’t. If the regulations allow for any ram to be taken, then the biologists have decided that younger age rams can be removed without detriment to the population. I’ll leave the population dynamic and herd impact decisions to the professionals.

    You are some tough guys. I'm 65 now and I do still hunt whitetail deer, but I don't hike as far back into the woods as I used to. I really admire you all's strength of resolve, God bless.

    The Frank is one of the most, if not the most humbling places to hunt PERIOD. Have spent many long seasons chasing 4-legged critters in that neck of the woods & I can attest to how tough & evasive the wildlife is in those units. Surprised you guys didn’t use horses? Water under the bridge now, Congrats on the Ram! God Bless 😎🤙

      We thought about using the horses. Just a very long way to truck them in and then getting feed in there adds a whole extra trip.

    Great video, guys. I always look forward to your videos. The adventures are awesome, but your walk with Christ is what I really enjoy. Living out the reality that walking with Christ is not limiting but truly "limitless".

    I hiked to that hit spring one night because we were both tagged out and needed a bath. The problem was I drank too much and took a nap on that bridge around 3am on the way back, when it was 10 degrees. Missed those adventures but not the drinking. Enjoy your videos bro along with the word of God.

    Boy this hunt took me back for sure. I drew that tag back in 2001 and was jacked.. I flew it and investigated it several packs in. I hunted 2 /10 day trips. 1st 10 days was nothing. I drew with a buddy that gave up as the hunt was too hard for him.. we flew out, and a week later I was in it for 10 more days solo. I was dropped off into an airstrip and planned to walk several miles to another air strip where the pilot stashed the 2nd 1/2 of my provisions and food. all in all it was the last day to hunt as the plane was coming to pick up in the early Am. I spotted a Ram with 6 ewes down by the river, and I ended up running as fast as possible through rocks and cliffs to get to where I could make a shot. with only about 3 hours left of daylight, I was within 157 yds. (back then it had to 3/4 curl to be legal) so I looked and looked as the light faded, it was so close and I made the choice to shoot.... I ended up with a 4year old Ram and was dang proud of him as I flew out early the next morning. I got hassled for shooting a small Ram... but I would always ask how big of a Ram did they take in there, and they said none- well I guess my ram is bigger than yours...lol- That country will kick you down in every way- but it always calls your name to go back. Great job on your hunt. This hunt took me the full 20 days. I went in at 180 lb. and returned home at 150 lbs. Thanks for taking me back 23 years ago ...... 2009 I took a Mountain goat in there as well..

      It’s definitely about the hunt in there. The sheep on the wall brings back all the memories and parts of the adventure. We’ll be releasing a podcast soon filling in the rest of the time in there.

      Hey Seth, Colton here. It was a 28 Nosler. Had my scope fail on the 300 Wby and had to borrow a rifle from some friends we made back there. It shot really well, not a fan of bergers though. Blew a huge hole in his cape.

    • @sethbuitendorp9353
      @sethbuitendorp9353 Рік тому

      Colton, thanks for letting me in on the secret. I saw that on the cape for just a quick second, that was the reason for the question. However, it's clearly the bullet not the caliber, Too bad about the cape, never the less its still very exciting to watch.
      AS ALWAYS!
