🦉📖 *...Evening is falling and the lights start to come up across the city. Lucky for you, you found the perfect place to end the day: a charming little patisserie, open late, in the top floor of a hotel. The room is ornate yet cozy, the panelled walls decorated with paintings of flowers. From the wide window you can see a sweeping view of the bateaux mouches gliding slowly along the Seine, the Pont d’Iena, and the glittering, glowing Eiffel Tower beyond. Behind the bar of the cafe a massive copper espresso machine shines like a secondary monument. Rain is falling outside, and the lights from the tower and the glow from the room glimmer off the raindrops, the neat stacks of cafe au lait bowls, the gold fleurs de lis decorating the bar, and the gleaming display case full of pretty colored macarons and shining tartes aux fraises. The room is warm and comfortable, the air infused with the scent of espresso, chocolate, and pastry. You gaze into the gentle rain as night settles itself across the city of love. Wow, this is perfection. I have not liked coffee shops or cafe's that are too busy looking in their content. They end up looking more like fancy hotel lounges, rather than warm comfortable cosy and relaxing places for some rest, and a bit of quiet time with a friend and a nice cup of hot coffee. I love this because it looks like an unadorned place, yet with a quiet sophistication. The music is sublime and marries up completely with the beauty and serenity of this scene.

To be honest, I don't like to leave my house when it's dark. But it's winter and cold with dirty snow here-this is just not Paris in the evening. If it were, I would frequently haunt this sweet, beautiful place to enjoy strong coffee and viennoiseries with a friend or book. As always, thank you so much for all the work and time you put into creating these lovely escapes for us. The colours, the lighting, the style, the soundscape...je suis tellement détendue.
