Got one too! Bought it at goodwill around 6 years ago. Been hauling it around with me ever since. Fun too play. Would be awesome to see more vids if this on UA-cam! Peace and love everyone!
This was my very first instrument and I still have it. Been wondering all the wonderful facts about it. Sad it doesn't have the labels for the keys, but other than that it still works. :)
Yeah, a LOT of cheap instruments were sold through catalogs or Sears back in the 50's and 60's. A lot of guitars were sold that way. Made by one factory but a different name depending on where you got it from. Jack White from the White Stripes has a few Catalog guitars most notably two sold under the Kay and Airline name
I have a different model electric chord organ, but the same manufacturer. I opened it up the other day to clean; I was finally brave enough to tackle the two security screws. Anyway, mine had a reed for the Major Chords section and 2 reeds for the keys labeled 8 through 22. They were white, but I'm not sure what they were made of. I tried to avoid touching them since there were 5 or 6 plastic parts broken off floating around in there. My initial thought was the reeds might be ceramic, but I don't think they are. It would probably be hard to replace.
The church across my street was giving this out for free. I really like it, but unfortunately, some of the keys dont wont because someone spilled coffee on it. :/
This exact model was given to me as a Christmas present in 1972, i was 12.

@@wesleyzimmerman94 teisco was a major oem for department stores in the 60s-80s, along with danelectro (silvertone) which only went through Sears
My Grandma had one almost like that and I was supposed to get it but didn't and I have been looking for one that works for years!
I am obsessed with these

Is this made by Magnus or a different company?
It's made by a different company. I haven't seen a Magnus that uses the same technique for creating sound.
I had one but it was a Caprice Audion
Yo tengo uno que me regaló mi abuelo ♥️
