Just for the avoidance of doubt all these bikes are RIDDEN regularly not decorative pieces as somebody suggested. Covid stopped a bit or riding of course except for shopping for essentials like Pork Pie and Beer . Variety is great isn't it ? they all have a value and who knows there might even be a Japanese one lurking under one of the covers.
All machines ethically sourced before anybody asks!!

What I learned from Arthur`s interview is that he doesn`t have a selfish bone in his body, but he's`rather a very caring and giving person. His family, friends, and neighbours know this for sure, as do all of us that watch TCMC now. For it isn't normal to find owners of such a collection as Arthur's to share his bikes publicly every time he leaves his house.
Sure, some of us seen these bikes in museums, but when do we get the chance to hear the engine? Hear the gears change? And smell the exhaust?
That is what Arthur brings to those lucky enough to run into him during his outings sharing his wonderful collection.
I envy his neighbours that get to hear and see these great machines on a routine base's.

Happy is the man who can indulge his passion endlessly over the course of his life.
Restoration Tip: I have had to fabricate rubber bushes myself a couple of times. Look for a rubber part that is close in shape to begin with. Then place it in the freezer for a couple of days first. It can be drilled, machined much easier and to a better tolerance if frozen. I have even beadblasted it. But you must get everything set up beforehand, due to a limited work time. If it starts softening before you are finished, put it back in the freezer and start again in a few days. As with all restoration work, patience is your best asset.

    Hello,
On your H-R-D, Rubber blocks and drilling, I have found a good way was to set the pieces into a small container filled with Dry-Ice, long enough to thoroughly freeze them, which will vary according to size.
Have everything to drill them ready to go, and even do some dry runs with the pieces, without actually drilling them to be sure you will have no problems. Sometimes the dry runs will help you streamline your process.
Your antagonist here will be time, and using it the most efficient way possible before the rubber begins to warm, and soften !!! To complete your drilling while the rubber is still hard will be ideal !!! Try a practice piece first if you can in your trial runs.

Great video of your collection, Arthur! Take that rubber and put it in the freezer overnight. Pull it out and drill it immediately. It certainly helps!

If my late father was still around, he would be turning green with envy. His dream machine was what he termed an "HRD 1000". Needless to say he never owned one but at one time, he had a Rudge 250, which was his favourite of the bikes he owned.

What an interesting and knowledgeable man, and of course with a fabulous / unusual collection! We may have met as I lived in Leicester for the entire 90s and attended many shows. But my entire collection was stolen on a night when about six other enthusiasts were also attacked. Nothing was recovered for any of us as far as I am aware. Nowadays I live in Devon, but don't sleep with my only bike - a Honda Valkyrie Interstate as it's a struggle to get her into bed. A shame as she's seriously pretty and never wears a chain, even on a weekday.

I've been into riding since the 1960s and Arthur has several motorcycles I never heard of before. The Hesketh was big news when it came out, magazines gushed about its brute of a twin and quality construction, and here sits one all ready to go for a ride. If you want to learn of British motorcycling, Arthur has the personal experience and knowledge to pass on to the worthy.
    Thanks for posting this.

A friend of mine (my best man) worked on those Hesketh bikes, during their development. Once they went into production I test rode an unfaired one and also the faired version. Turned out they were the same bike! A great thing to ride, but way too high in the saddle for this short-arse to be a practical purchase.

After seeing a Flying Squirrel in a local garage some years ago and talking to the owner I always fancied one, this never came into fruition, then to my great surprise I saw this modern looking bike with a Scott engine, I thought at first it was a special! only later to realise it was a Silk. I saw a riders review in a bike magazine and was pleased that the tester gave it a great review, still never managed to own one! but great to see.

I briefly had a 500 GTL years ago. Best thing was selling it for what it cost me. 😂 Seriously, although it was beautiful to ride, small, pretty light, great brakes, beautiful handling, and I didn't mind the looks, the standard motor was as slow as a wet weekend. A Honda 250 was quicker. It wasn't reliable and things would be fall off. I'd bought it with plans of long distance two up riding. Yeah nah, it was never up for that job. Bought an 860GTS which was up to the task, taking us many happy km, except for... well, that's another story. 😁
