I will work in a pinch. I used just such a whip on the trunk of my car and fed it with a remote tuner mounted directly under the antenna. Worked great going down the highway. I could TX from 20M-10M with ease, and if conditions were good, I could use it on 40M locally. Just push a button on the IC-706 which would tune the AH-4 in the trunk. No coax between the tuner and the whip, so losses were manageable. Keep up the good work Simon. Never stop experimenting!
AHH made it to the video !! lol That was working well, you were getting stronger after we worked, and yes Marty does do a great job on those coils.. VE1SK
Can't wait to see this... I have an old CB whip that I have been wanting to put on 10m, but I have been too busy... The thought that it may work on 20m is amazing!
hey Pat thanks for watching buddy. A loaded coil certainly does open up a ton of opportunities that's for sure. Cheers buddy and get your snow board out! wooohoooo
Wooohooo it's a total blast eh? I'm surprised how well it actually works. Not sure how much less there is, but it seem to work really well. cheers buddy - thanks for watching
G'day Chris buddy, thanks so much for watching mate. It was a really fun little experiment, and considering the compromised length of the whip, it works really well ha! Happy holidays to you and yours my friend! Cheers mate
