I love that you are watching dkdktv and talking about how important culture is when it comes to music. Love that you are diving into lyrics. Thank you for doing that!!!
Thank you for leaving this comment. One of the most impressive things about Yoongi is how versatile his voice is. This flawed lyric video totally undermines that. I really wish people would just listen to the official audio videos and read Doolset for lyrics. These lyric videos are not only often incorrect, they also often use a loophole to prevent BTS from even recouping $ using copyright claims.
You don't need to choose one of them, you can like/love all of them because this rapline is equally talented. And the squeaky sound on hid rap suga made is his signature, his voice control is so amazing. Oh yeah the live performance of UGH is so amazing to watch. You can react to their live performances too. It's ok to watch explanation videos, it shows you're real and not pretending to know everything. Thank you for loving bts 💜💜💜
For future reference, I suggest avoiding lyric videos from *Jaeguchi* (or *Lemoring)* bc they tend to often be poor in quality. Bc their goal is to get their lyric videos out the fastest, they tend to make mistakes, like messing up translations or not putting the right singer for the verses (as in this case with putting J-Hope over Suga's verse in the beginning--and this isn't the first time they've done this either). And they also don't bother to correct anything either, which causes problems for new listeners trying to read or analyze BTS's lyrics. Better channels for BTS lyric videos would be *af_taehyung* or *BBTS9717,* who both consult with reliable translators for their videos.
They were also caught and called out for using a 3rd party to copyright their lyric videos thus stealing copyrights (and copyright fees) from the artists.
3:01 this is still Suga not J-hope. The person who made that video made a mistake :/ If you want, you can watch a live video of this song its really dope
No worries. I am Korean boomer who needs someone like dkdk to interpret the bts rap lyrics, too. No way you could break down the way you do with American rappers. Some people have unreasonable expectations and demands in the name of being bts fans. You have someone like me who love watching you do your thing. Cheers.
Thanks for a great reaction. I loved that you checked out DKDKTV, I’ve watched it all before, but I really got a lot out of it. Ignore the haters, you are totally doing the right thing with best intentions, and we appreciate it.
nah same . I be seeing in comments about like " they know what they signed up for when they became famous" as in saying that because they became famous, they signed up for all the hate that follows and that shit just pisses me off because they signed up for being loved by their fans , not hated on.
"it's so relentless." that's it! that's the most accurate description of this song's flow, vibe, and production. 🔥 nah man, i've been watching you for years. started with nf and eminem. so when you touched bts and don't act like a know-it-all on their lyrics, you've yet again gained my respect. it only means you don't pretend you get it when you don't. right now i'm just happy you checked out dkdktv. you actually get the gist of the messages of the songs but i know how you get really serious with breakdowns so you wouldn't touch on it much if you don't know.
Even DKDKTV misses some pertinent details in a song because beyond the 'cultural' references, another layer is "personal" when they allude to events that have happened in their real lives. People that have followed them closely will recognize for example "He wrote that specifically because of this event and how he was being attacked for xyz at that particular time."
Yes! I notice this particularly in DKDKTV’s breakdown of Idol. They give us the cultural references, but miss many of the BTS history specific references.
This is my favorite rap line song because it really makes me think about how online hate really reverberates beyond easy targets. The unsaid part is K-pop idols who have committed suicide after a lot of online hate. I washed we talked about the whole idea of useful anger instead of telling people to never be angry. And yes the live is insane energy the two youngest of BTS V and JK literally stormed the stage jumping hyped up during rehearsals they got so into it.
For those who send you those damn comments about you not getting the lyrics….. let it slide off of you. ! They don’t get the premise of your reaction contents. You shouldn’t get pissed, cause that’s exactly what they want, to get a reaction out of you. Be nonchalant about it. I’m not saying everyone should agree with you, but they can have a different opinion. As long as their comments remain respectful, it’s good feedback for you. 💜
This songs live performance on Map of the Soul, Day 1 is AMAZING! You are so right about it being an amazing live! It’s one of my favorite JHOPE performances EVER.
I don’t comment much but keep doing you. Don’t worry about the small amounts of haters who give shit because you don’t pickup every small reference or inference because of the language difference. That’s not what BTS is about. Conversely, it’s about a common appreciation of music, lyricism, and message that binds us as music lovers and human beings. Think about how you’ve learned just a sliver of what they bring as musicians and poets and appreciate your journey, no matter how wide. Enjoy your stuff…. Keep going. Good luck.
Brian Campos . What an insightful comment. Important that you refer to the “small” amounts of haters. It is possible to get riled over a few negative comments and in our emotions it becomes “all the many haters”. We can emphasize that “common appreciation of music, lyricism, and message that binds us as music lovers and human beings,” as you say. Thank you for this substantive contribution to the discussion.
This was how I fell in love with the Rap line. Only when you get the non P.G. lyric translations historical, cultural and slang explainations. That's when you really fall in love. It's like having a steak dinner when you have been living of TV dinners.. live they did this in a virtual boxing ring it worked so well.
There is an UGH! live performance and it's just as insane as the studio version. you should really react to it next! Also, thanks for making it so important about the culture they add into their music, I see a lot of people running over that and making fun of the words not knowing the meaning!
With regard to translations and cultural references, I would say that even within the same language, specific cultural references can get lost. For example if I listened to lyrics by an English or American rapper/singer there could well be references which completely pass me by. American hip hop in particular comes from an environment that is very foreign to me, even though I am an English speaker.
Have you reacted to anything from Rm`s first mixtape? I love all the rap line and their mixtapes but I think his first mixtape is very under rated because it's from a while back. There are even some live performances that he did at all force one (he brought the rest of the rapline with him) that I so love.
I understand you, hey thank you for going that extra mile. I might be taken in by the cadence and the flow to but I also want to know not just how it breaks down in our language, but exactly what they the artist are trying to emotionally convey. I want to know all of the deeper meanings if there are any. Thank you again 💓
Hey, thank you for your reaction! 💜I love hearing your thoughts and your input trying to break down the lyrics. It's absolutely okay if you miss things because as you pointed out, sometimes you just need to be from the country or be aware of their culture to completely understand. Also, the lyrics videos you are using definitely dont have the best translations ;) Take it easy, nobody is expecting you to break down the lyrics as if you were Korean. I feel you can give meaningful comments and I find It interesting to see you discover lyricism, history and culture references from another country in real time. I really like this way of doing things with you first hearing the song and commenting on flows/cadence etc and then watching you go more in depth with the lyrics while you watch an explanation video. It's the natural way most of us went through when we started listening. if you are comfortable doing It this way, id love to keep on watching your reactions!
Ernest this is what you need to do with all KPOP. Listen to the song then explanations after in o e video.. This was a PERFECT format(song+song explanation) for all us non korean speakers!
they did perform it during their MOTS 7 tour and it was definitely fire. They were wearing boxing gloves and robes and were in a ring lol If you find the clip you should definitely react to it.
The J Hope Switch in the beginning, wasn't J Hope, he doesn't come in until after RM's verse. This lyric video isn't accurate. Here is a live performance with accurate doolset.bangtan subtitles used by this ARMY, and she even included some explanation in the beginning, which you can skip if you want, just go to 2:00 BTS Rapline - UGH! Live w/Eng. subs - ua-cam.com/video/6XfEDepFpAU/v-deo.html
@thethirdernest would be great to see you react to the live performance of Urgh that was performed at the map of the soul ON:E online concert stream. It’s Even better live
New to your reactions. I did not complete, as I do not like to listen to just the lyrics, - prefer performances and videos, but, can tell - you are becoming “one of US”. Of Interest… BTS rap line assessments by Koreans have stated: RM - is good at telling stories in his raps. Draws you in. SUGA - ignites, fast, savage - in top five fastest rappers in Korea. J-Hope - sings his raps. He has a good voice.
You enjoyed this as part of the Room Medley. Friends were yelling when they saw about to happen ua-cam.com/video/yPsM7DKLRc8/v-deo.html 1020 on timer but you have clocking around 930 something minutes in. Right after Pied Piper
I would like to know from BTS if the explanation that this Korean rapper gives regarding the version of the song is true or if it is something that is not well agreed
You need to react to Ddaeng and Ddaeng explained by a Korean. Also Cypher 3 and 4 along with Baepsae and Baepsae explained by a Korean. I thought Cypher 2 was the weakest one in the series.
3:02 that is actually still Suga; The channels Jeaguchi and Lemoring are known for getting members and lyrics wrong.
3:20 is also still Suga.
I love that you are watching dkdktv and talking about how important culture is when it comes to music. Love that you are diving into lyrics. Thank you for doing that!!!
The first verse is just Yoongi, not j hope. Hobis part is the third verse, and its so so good 🔥🔥 These lyric videos are often not so accurate 😅
@@WhalienDNA Agreed, I appreciate the fan lyrics, but sometimes the translated lyrics just don’t match up 😌
Right. I wonder why they think it is J-Hope, seems abrupt cut of verse preceded him then.
You don't need to choose one of them, you can like/love all of them because this rapline is equally talented. And the squeaky sound on hid rap suga made is his signature, his voice control is so amazing.

YES YES YES!!!!
That is still Suga at 3:00. Whoever made lyric video had JHope coming in too early.
UGH is definitely in my Top 5 BTS song
3:01 this is still Suga not J-hope. The person who made that video made a mistake :/ If you want, you can watch a live video of this song its really dope

This must be my fav songs from the rap line: so raw, so powerful, so profound and SUCH A BANGER!
Thanks for a great reaction. I loved that you checked out DKDKTV, I’ve watched it all before, but I really got a lot out of it. Ignore the haters, you are totally doing the right thing with best intentions, and we appreciate it.

It's ALWAYS so fascinating to hear the difference in their cadences. ridiculous. brilliant.
This songs live performance on Map of the Soul, Day 1 is AMAZING! You are so right about it being an amazing live! It’s one of my favorite JHOPE performances EVER.
FINALLYY!!! this is the song that made me really embrace my 'ARMY' side. Unfortunately, the labelling of which verse is whose is a bit wonky huh :")
Jhope did not slide in .. It's suga, the creator of the video fckd up highlighting jhope pic when it was still suga ..
Don't get mad. It's the Ugh. It's good to get angry once in a while like this tho

Love your reactions. You are thorough and knowledgeable. Thank you 💜
WHEN I SAW BTS I RAN HERE
Omg!!!! Finally!!!! DDAENG will blow your mind Ernest.
Thanks for another great reaction & including the explanation vid! I appreciate you!

That begging was all Suga, JHope only comes later
I understand you, hey thank you for going that extra mile. BTS (방탄소년단) - Answer: Love Myself Live
Ernest this is what you need to do with all KPOP. Listen to the song then explanations after in o e video.. This was a PERFECT format(song+song explanation) for all us non korean speakers!

Do you have already react to 'Joke' from RM? It's a rap masterpiece 😱
*the editor of this lyrics put WRONG! Thats was YOONGI (Suga) not JHOPE :(*
the color coded lyrics are not so good, in some parts it says it's one of them but it's other member :(
please don't mention BTS and STR** KI** in the same breath ever! like eeewwww
💜
You need to react to Ddaeng and Ddaeng explained by a Korean. Also Cypher 3 and 4 along with Baepsae and Baepsae explained by a Korean. I thought Cypher 2 was the weakest one in the series.
I like you 💜
