Super nice grain of the spruce top and the maple shell & neck as well. These two seem to have profound knowledge how to do this old, old method of building bass viols.
VERY interesting and cool video, I think I need to take up my double bass playing again.
Божественно! Спасибо за столь тонкую работу над материей и визуальным повествованием о ней!
Felicitaciones Calin Wultur workshop ,gran trabajo
What a wonderful video about the birth of a new Doublebass!
Thank You!
Wow I have played the bass for a while, but I never knew all the work that went into making them
I have a whole new respect for the instrument.
A work of art.
Excellent workmanship! I'm a violin maker, but about to build my first double bass!
wowo. this is how they are made, huh? no wonder they are CRAZY EXPENSIVE
Doublebasses are actually really cheap, compared to violins or cellos, when talking about professional instruments at least.
And doublebasses from a Romanian factory wouldn't cost more than 3k, even if the craftmanship here is really really good. Very high quality factory instruments can nowadays compete with instruments made by a single luthier who spent his life making instruments, that's insane...
Very very nice. I have 3 bass guitar and I can wait to get one and start to practice.
Love your work. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for this video. You make it look so easy!
Double bass will always be superior to cello and so much more fun, it's more than just an Orchestrial instrument.
Right! It's the heartbeat and soul of any ensemble in which it is present.
Beautifully played - virtuoso
Fascinating video, especially compared with how the Bass' small cousins are made.
Wow.
Além do excelente trabalho do Lutier escutamos um incrível Contrabaixo!
Fantástico!
The soundpost is bigger than your hand ! Very impressive, thank you for sharing :)
Nice video. I own a Calin Wultur "Panormo" 3/4 bass and I love it. I was a little surprised to find this on UA-cam.

This is so satisfying
Just bought an gamba elite #6
Cool! I have a Calin Wultur bass.

I'm impressed by the high quality of polish you managed to obtain from the varnish. How do you get the "mirror" effect on oil varnishes ? Is it possible to varnish an instrument with oil based varnish and apply a last layer of spirit varnish with shellac for the finish ?

I'd love to buy one of your bass.
4:54 They're Hanging, LOL
I always wanted to no how my instrument was made
Henry Hinders you should stick to English because you need a lot of help on that.
No offense pal, but I seriously doubt yours was made this way, unless you unloaded a boat o' dough for it. In which case you would have ordered it, and probably been briefed on the processes before hand.
I love watching the craftsmen at work but too many processes missed out.
I'd love to know what piece is being played after the Bottesini, great video by the way :)
