I wanted to ask you a question Sir. I am just a casual fan of this chanel. Are they from Russia or the East anyway? Just wondering. And I saw a video yesterday on anti tank guns of different sizes being fixed. These boys and ladies.. Were not playin around. They took the firearms apart real fast Man. I figure they were all in the Russin Army.. And did you pick up on the word HARMONICA vs. accordian that we here in the West would call it.
These type of instruments are called harmonicas in most of Europe. The harmonica you're talking about is also called a mouth organ in other parts of the world. A melodian can also be wind powered.
OK, and Ireland they are referred to as accordions. However, @peterwatts4163 is completely correct as far as UK players are concerned. Here they are - and always have been as far as I know - called melodions. Or diatonic button accordions, if you want to be picky about it. I have also played them since the late seventies.
Really nice work...I just suggest to restore the music inside (also tuning the reeds...), and change the leathers strips, and normally, the valves are fixed with wax...But really nice work.
Uhh sure totally a harmonica lol Regardless this piece looks absolutely stunning! I love these shades of green, remind me of those old-timey lamps with the green glass shades you'd see at banks or offices. These greens overall really remind me of the '70s in an environment that's, oh how you put it? A dark and serious-ish mood. It gives me slight nostalgia for a time I was never in
Ah yes, I'm quite surprised that it still works. Since the engineer first tested it. These musical instruments were called concertinas. I remember when these things were being used in the 3 Stooges comedy series. It was a smaller version. Does this also have me thinking about the 20th century France? Even the Penthouse pet named Chanel had one of these things with her. This education video will even have me thinking about the Tiny Toons character: Fifi La Fume. 🇫🇷 🤔 😳 😳 😅 👀 😬 🇫🇷

Thank you. I have one that was given to me when I was an exchange student to Germany in 1972. It was in playable condition then, but the buttonboard was broken in the same place. Perhaps I'll get it out and clean it up.
If you think the instrumrnt you are restoring in this video is a harmonica, you are in the wrong profession...What you picked up off that shelf is a melodian. Like an accordian with buttons instead of keys like a piano.
As far as I ever knew a harmonica was played with the mouth and lungs but that squeeze box/piano accordian is played with fingers and arms! NOT A HARMONICA! Nice restoration by the way😀
This accordion looks like the one my grandfather had that was out of tune and he gave it to a man to tune but he moved and took the accordion but currently he must be with someone random here in Brazil
Aacording to my harmonium, that's an accordion, but my harmonica disagrees and accordingly says it's a concertina. Or a squeezebox, and possibly a melodeon. Or a cat trapped inside a draughty biscuit tin. But anyway, a nice aesthetic restoration, but .... how well does it play? Liked the Phillips radio too. Subscribed. 😊
The original leather strap could had been saved. A bit of leatehr soap to clean it, then hideglue to repair any cracks, and then just treat the strap whit some leather oil and leather grease. The new strap could had been better too. The leather was way to thick. the corners should had been beveled, the sewn joints should had been thined to half the thickness + glued before sewing. And agein treathed whit leather oil and leather grease.
This instrument is commonly known as a melodeon (see link). It's very popular with English Morris; our side had several musicians who played one. They were usually tuned in D and G and because they are diatonic, the melody buttons open apertures giving suck/blow just like two mouth organs (harmonicas). I found it quite difficult to play one as I'm used to the piano accordion which plays the same note either suck or blow. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diatonic_button_accordion
Kind of sad that the green outside texture wasnt restored to its teal coloring... i also noticed that when the paper was going on the leather hinges, that cutting them off cut some of the other side edges, exposing the red. Other than those, looks really well done. Wait... why is there a guitar too?? AND a mystery item that is either an amp or a speaker??!?! I am so confused
Firstly, how do I determine which end should be closest to my mouth and secondly, since when have ''HARMONICAS'' been used to extinguish domestic fires. I mean i've seen a fair few fire engines in my time but never do I remember them employing ''HARMONICAS'' amongst their fire fighting equipment? Could you elaborate oh wise one?@@claesmansson9070
hello! AM stations are pretty rare here nowadays, as the sound quality is much lower than FM. where I am, it's mainly used for local news reports, road hazards, and inclement weather alerts. ✌️
This is an accordion NOT a harmonica!!! I would have said it got mixed up with the translation but it says you're channel is from the USA so you should have not have to translate anything
For those who do not know this instrument, they believe that you did a great renovation, but that is not the case, you did not change the rotten fabric, you only painted it, you did not polish the cascamita, you did not grind reeds and you did not do the correct tuning of the instrument, you only renewed the 50% of its aesthetics and thus an instrument is not recovered.. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Muhteşem ❤
Thank you for saving this accordion. Yvette Horner was a great accordion artist 👍👍👏👏😊😊

All of them looked great and you did a wonderful job restoring them all also as well!!!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Magnifique !
Weiter so 🥰👍
A harmonica is a mouth organ. The instrument that you have restored is a melodeon. I have been playing one since the 1970s.

Well executed, wonderful results, ooooh! Love the humour👏👏👏👏👏👏🤪🤪🇬🇧
Very well played and very old button box; was someone’s pride and joy
Magnificent that’s some change from Harmonica to Accordion 😂👍 restoration not bad either 🙌
your work is amazing.
The author's hands are clearly growing out of his ass. To mess up everything like that when “restoring” an accordion, you have to be a master!

Hahaha love the secret horror track. It just happens to be my morning alarm.
Well said, I was about to say the same, you beat me to it.👍👍👍
This is a melodeon. A harmonica you play with your mouth. An accordion has regular keys.
Really nice work...I just suggest to restore the music inside (also tuning the reeds...), and change the leathers strips, and normally, the valves are fixed with wax...But really nice work.
Uhh sure totally a harmonica lol

.....the sandpaper-role out of the toilet..... LMAO 😂😅😂😅
Thats an accordion not a Harmonica
I was thinking the same, it’s definitely not a harmonica 😂

Rio de Janeiro- Brasil Amei a restauração
Coming along good
I also repair computers. I see you did very well. Thank you for your hard work. congratulations for such great intelligence and effort,🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
Wait! Did you really not replace the little leather seals inside the accordion/harmonica?
I understand heating the fret bars, but why add the solder? It seem's not needed.
Thank you. I have one that was given to me when I was an exchange student to Germany in 1972. It was in playable condition then, but the buttonboard was broken in the same place. Perhaps I'll get it out and clean it up.

Yes it IS a harmonica/harmonika in some parts of Europe.
Nice Accordion restoration. That's an accordion for sure.
SPLENDID MAESTRO
how do you know what parts go where when you put it back together, your work is amazing.
Good job. I like it 👍🏻
I was only expecting the accordion, stayed for the guitar and the radio as well.
He put all that work into the accordion and the bellows don't even end up holding any air lol
As far as I ever knew a harmonica was played with the mouth and lungs but that squeeze box/piano accordian is played with fingers and arms!
NOT A HARMONICA!
Nice restoration by the way😀
Yea, accordion.
Great jop you the best.master congratulations
I'm pretty sure that's an Accordion.

Well done, good results !!!!

Great work. Nice accordian, but not a harmonica.
Accordion is better than new.
*LOL* Imagine the kid asking -Santa- Satan for an harmonica but he painstakingly restore an accordion instead *muahahaha*
That would be hard to fit in your mouth...LOL

I have a old accordion 1920 diatonic and need maintenance maybe you can do it? Thanks let me know please
awesome video, but where was the harmonica?

No instruments were restored in this video. They just have the appearance of it.
Hey Rusty Restore can you please try to make a restoration video of a clarinet?

You,re a prooffesional
Oui
Accordéon sinon très bonne marque allemande hohner
❤
Quick question.....which end do you blow in?
The end closest to your mouth, but if the house burns you can use the other end.
Firstly, how do I determine which end should be closest to my mouth and secondly, since when have ''HARMONICAS'' been used to extinguish domestic fires. Hello! Do they still broadcast on AM frequency in Amerika???
hello! AM stations are pretty rare here nowadays, as the sound quality is much lower than FM. where I am, it's mainly used for local news reports, road hazards, and inclement weather alerts. ✌️
Wondering what the cost are.
that looks more like an accordion than a harmonica.
It's called a "harmonica" or "handharmonica" in Germany, a "melodeon" in England and an "accordion" or "button accordion" in the US. I play one.
Will you sale that harmonica acordion??
A button accordion to be precise.
The dremel wire-wheel usage was torturous. No wonder you are disguised.
👍👍👍🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
I’m going buy accordion
It is not a harmonica. It's an accordion. Greetings.
that's some harmonica, who has got a mouth big enough to blow into it
Anyone can misname a product like this. It is not a harmonica, it's a truck !!
in what world do you live that that is a harmonica give me a break man it is an accordion
Fantastic jobs, great knowledge
yeah right...
This is an accordion NOT a harmonica!!! I would have said it got mixed up with the translation but it says you're channel is from the USA so you should have not have to translate anything
Hey it's a squeeze box
If I was to send you something could you restore it for me?
